What is coming will affect most everyone. Those who've embraced the past, learned the lessons the ancestors have taught, will fare much, much better than those who have solely relied on new technologies to survive. The simple/not so simple art of making fire (without a bic lighter that is), is a skill no one seems to need right now.....until they do; and a broad scope of our geopolitical situation should make far more people nervous than actually are.
I'm reminded of the story of the ant and the grasshopper, and this lesson has become more relevant now than ever before. Unfortunately,, too many people have their faces buried in their phones to see the forest or hear the crow's warnings.
    Cheers

I love your camping areas and fires. Am old now, but had lived in northern USA and would see deer,, timber wolves, moose, bear and bald eagle. Late at night would get up in winter to fire up my outdoor stove, and would hear the timber wolves "singing"....and would join in the song. You bring back an old persons dear memories. Thank you my friend.

    My fire is a coldfire
Small and just enough to keep my love warm and my family hearty
    My fire is a coldfire
Still burning to keep me going to give overwatch to my love
    My fire is a coldfire
When the winds of change blow, it can ignite in an instant
    My fire is a coldfire
Touch it and it can warm or scorch the earth
    My fire is a coldfire
The natural enemy of order and chaos
    My fire is a coldfire
Waiting to burn in need and when in dire

Bjorn, I feel this is one of the best videos you have made in a long while. That Fire Steel is surely a magical object. Not in the literal sense but in it's very fabric is the will and energy of a person 900 years ago. The fact that it can still deliver energy to you after all this time is it's true magic. Wishing you and your family all the best for Yule.

There,. away from city lights I can see the stars, hear the wildlife, smell the fresh air and listen to the stream. I no longer pitch a tent, I built a tiny shack and built bunks in it.
