- The Kazakhstani government tried to silence a critical journalist. But when she also became the target of a phishing scam, tracking the hackers opened a rabbit hole into a massive but shoddy spying operation. Who was really behind it? And why was all the hacked data dumped onto the open Internet?

I’m 70. I understand so much more after listening to this channel. Oh, I’ll never be behind the genius desk, but the appeal of this channel goes far beyond fellow hackers. Jack’s narrations are a combination of natural, compelling storytelling genius, focusing on engaging stories that illustrate how our technology is and can be applied, technical savvy, detective work, reverse engineering, common sense, all the thrills of a murder mystery delivered in a style and tone perfectly suited to his analytic nature. I actually picture him in front of a huge cork board with dozens of strings running to and through facts on the board. Sucks that subs are so low, at my age most of the people I know just wouldn’t be interested, but most of you guys have friends or relatives you can forward to who would genuinely enjoy it, probably all for different reasons. It’s as much edge of the couch spellbinding as it is technology, but Jack doesn’t short shrift people who are here to learn either. There’s no equal that I know of, and I’m sure most of his guests are not easy people to get to sit down and speak for the record, it’s just not their nature. Speaks to credibility in the industry, and it’s clearly an industry, shady in the corners or not. So you’re right, what we’re hearing here is special. My worry is that, you know, Jack has options other than a You Tube channel. I just want to see him get paid what he’s worth so he doesn’t go away, you know that would be bad for most of us. And disappointing for all of us. Thatisall.
Guess Who's listening to this at 3 a.m. and not planning on sleeping now for a few more hours! So excited! Better than those basic Murder Mystery series XD!
Same lmao, keep it up Jacky!

Unfortunately yea got up to pee and opened up youtube "real quick " lol
Ever see the invite to contact someone by downloading the What's up fake phone number to be able to get all your private information that might be on your phone?

I just woke up, and listening to this is so cool! I've basically watched all the videos in this series. Its damn informative and super gripping. You're awesome Jack! 👍👍
When I wake up and see a new Darknet I know the drive to work will be interesting!
Such a good story teller and making it relevant to the listener! 😊
I's so weird I was listening to this episode on your website right now but I had problems with connection glad you put it here .thanks bro
Surprised this series isn't more popular. Great content.
All that matters is whether you're here or not.
@@JackRhysider just do a hack and get more views bro
He did a previous episode on that
Look at who wins popularity contest. It doesn't matter

I swear man I'm speed running your channel like no others every single bit of time that I could spare I open up a new tab and catch one of your episodes where I left it. I'm also talking about your show to everybody around me but being in a country where english is not *at all* a spoken language I face walls but please never stop those candies are too good and I'm addicted to it now
I'm new to this channel and doing the same, I'm in the UK, so most people also don't speak English.
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊ĺ
@raveroperator As someone who spent 7 years in N. England, i'm curious if not English, what languages most people do speak then?😅
I learned what i thought was Northern English, but i guess it was actually Lancashirean, S. Yorkshirean, and partly Mancunian, Glaswegian and even Scouse, just on receiving end. Can't learn to speak Scouse without living around Mersyside and i only understand it because of Scouse friends i acquired later in Spanish penitenciary.

found this channel a few weeks ago and its been my favorite stuff to listen to since. another great vid 🤘
My gardening and artstuff and even the dishes are getting done more frequently and for longer stints since I found this channel a very little while back. 🍽️ 🌱🎨✌🏻😎
Great episode Jack, keep up the great work. Could I ask if you plan to grow the channel into a bigger production? If so, please be the final voice on things, your touch is what we all enjoy! o7
The very last last line. “When you look down the long ethernet cable into the dark part of the net, the darknet sometimes looks back.”
It sends shivers down my spine.
Jack, I know I'm one of many, but I still want to let you know that I absolutely love your videos.
Appreciate the Twin Peaks reference. Fascinating episode.
Where was it?
Your videos and stories with that screen on repeat is so soothing.. and really interesting!
Couldn't resonate with that intro any harder. Sneaking into bandos was one of my favorite pastimes in highschool!
This channel deserves more subs
I want to watch this so much now, but i'ma save it for tomorrow when i get bored in the library.
Can't get enough content.

This serie changed my life..
In 2011, the EFF received $1 million from Google as part of a settlement of a class action related to privacy issues involving Google Buzz. The Electronic Privacy Information Center and seven other privacy-focused nonprofits protested that the plaintiffs' lawyers and Google had, in effect, arranged to give the majority of those funds "to organizations that are currently paid by Google to lobby for or to consult for the company". An additional $1 million was obtained from Facebook in a similar settlement.[55]
Well done jack. Just so you know, someone is impersonating and sending telegram links to people who comment on your videos.
This is an amazing detective story!
....EFF has always been a great organization ...cheers.
When Nazarbayev was ousted the new parliament renamed the capital city after him..what an insult to a people who have suffered under him for over twenty years!
I LIKE THIS CHANNEL.. I SUBSCRIBED TO YOU ALREADY.. GOOD JOB... SUCCESS TO YOU ALL,..
This is the first time I've heard about the Respublika affair in a long time.
Is express vpn good for anonymity? If not, what are some better solutions? Proxychains including tor on a virtualbox vm + expressvpn on the host machine? Or what is best?
Wouldnt trust any big commercial ones, maybe proton
Great question.
mulladvpn is the only one you can trust lol, no email no logs nothing used
FYI
An easy, free way to contribute a little to EFF or similar organizations is through the Amazon smile program - it's free and passive, you pick a charity or non profit and a small percentage of your purchases are given to the organization.
:3 One lady had a skull 💀 put on her door, with a note, and the note read that there won't be a next time. Shortly after, her workplace was set on fire.
She ran from Kazakhstan (I guess is what he said) after that. The lady was getting educated on malware and such by a government agency that deals with cyber security, I think it was.
She would get emails from activists, and then got a suspicious email, that she felt was suspicious, and sent it to them. Sure enough, it was a spear phishing email, with malware attached to some documents.
The team analyzed the code to see where it came from.
Interesting stuff.
That's why, if you're an activist, journalist, and so forth, you have to open documents in a sandbox (the new Windows feature required a higher edition than Home, and you need to be able to do virtualization), virtual machine, or on a computer with no personal files, your camera covered, your mic covered, and to look at it.
The NJrat I purposely downloaded, is zipped, and it bypassed NordVPN, Windows Defender, and Avast. Lol. It only got detected when extracting it.
From what I know:
However, with some files, merely opening the file will cause malware to ignite. As well, if you write malware in a special way, the virus database may not have it. If you encrypt the files, antivirus won't be able to scan it, and then it can be released after it hits the computer.
As well, polymorphic malware is written in C, and it is able to keep changing itself so that it doesn't land in a virus database. That's a rather new type of malware.
Bruv if you watch Jack you have to understand there is no such thing as a safe place to open a dodgy email all networks can be compromised the o it safe assumption is that it is already compromised and anything you do online is being tracked by someone somewhere
Very nice
a night without darknet diaries ?no thanks

"BANDOOK" is a hindi word( from India), which means Gun, in case you were wondering 🤔 💭
Ya it was a Indian company called appin I don't know why he was not clear about it it's on eefs own site
Im only 6 minutes into this & I'm very upset. I realise this is more than 6 years ago, but knowing that they killed her Dog, has me very emotional. I'm lieing in bed, with my best mate, my Chihuahua Dog 🐕 "Brown". I'm holding him very tight, I would be absolutely distraught & heart-broken if anything bad happened to him.
This Lady is very courageous & doesn't deserve this. People just don't deserve this. A big thanks to the EFF, Cooper Quentin & many other great Fighter's just like him.
....now to watch the rest of this Video. I'm still holding "Brown", very tight. I don't ever want to let him go.
you should get a cat

Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view!"
Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam."
Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."
Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!"
Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."
Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?"

In Kazakhstan, the majority of the population is Muslim. In Lebanon, the population is also predominantly Muslim.
"I gotta letter from the government the other day . I opened it and read it... It said they were suckas..." - PE
At the start of this Video you talk about exploring an empty Hospital. I can pretty much say for sure, of course someone was there.
Nothing to be scared or worried about, the person was more than likely more scared of you then you were of them. They were probably either homeless, & living there & feeding the 🐈 Cat, or they were there just there to feed the Cat. * There are a lot of Cat People, that feed the many feral Cats, that can be found in the Cities.
Either way, because there were scared of you or worried they might get in trouble for being there &/or feeding the Cat, they avoided you.
Any thoughts could be going through there mind. They don't know who you are, & they could just be scared of People or strangers. Also not knowing who you are they might be thinking you've got some authority over the Building & they might get in trouble.
yes cats are so cute get a cat
