Thanks for putting this up. Was hesitant to get these tires on my 22 Subaru outback wilderness but after listening to your testimony and we get about the same weather I'm sold. Thanks for the video helped a bunch!
Great video! I have them on '18 Crosstrek and love them. I also spend the winters in Vt but I love them in the snow. I wouldn't say they're equivalent to a snow tire but I find no need to have a snow tire with these tires on a Subie. That be said I'll be putting them on my Outback Wilderness when it arrives. Thanks!!!
Have you looked at the Michelin Crossclimate 2’s? Looks to be a true all weather tire and should suffice as an all year setup if you can’t afford/have a second set for winter
So this would probably do well for my case in Indiana and mostly highway. My roads are crap until I get to a main road and then everything is "generally" ok.
thanks for the review. We live near Seattle and ski most weekends. I am looking at the Falkens for a spring/summer/fall tire on our Outback. I am getting dedicated winter tires (probably Vredestein Wintrac Pro) on the OEM wheels.
Beautiful setup. I just bought Blizzak's as designated winters. I will be using the Falken's as my spring/summer/fall tire as well. What wheels will you mount the Falken's on?
Wildpeaks do great in the winter. I live in Northern Colorado and drive on unplowed mountain roads to get to trailheads and it's much better than Blizzaks. If you're highway driving only then yeah, blizzaks or Ice tires are great.
I had these in my '19 forester, they were much better than the oem falken ziex tires on the road, great in dry dirt, but when it got even SLIGHTLY slick with mud, they'd slip and slide like I was on ice. Definitely not confidence inspiring even you're coming down a dirt road on a mountain where you regularly see priuses after it rained the day before, and you turn the wheel only for the car to keep going straight for a few more seconds till it finally bit.
@@quadmania59 ended up trading in the car for the wilderness trim, so I was running the yokohama geolander g015s. Didn't get to test them out as much as I did with the wildpeak trails, but it was like driving on tracks on some of the same slightly muddy trails. Just changed those out for the nitto nomad grapplers in a larger size though.
@@quadmania59 they certainly look good, but that's about all I can say about them, only had them for a week. Will be testing them out properly at a 4x4 park next weekend though.
I am in the same boat as you deciding between CC2 and AT Trail. The main difference is probably better MPG with CC2 and ATT offer a bit more off-road capabilities.
@wiskatesnow went with Falkens, and I think its a good choice. For potholes and shitty roads we have in New York. Drove them in snow and they were great. Plus less chance to puncture them

This is a year round tires. No reason to just change it out for winter.

I haven't but I'll be looking into those for this Fall
Did you have a chance to compare them to the CC2 yet?

Thanks for the review. Have you noticed any change in gas mileage?
Yes, 2-3 mpg drop

I’m debating between wildpeak and crossclimate 2. After this video maybe I’ll try falkens. Thanks for info
