Ana attends a dinner made by Angie at the Bolens house. Angie insists Ana to eat her rigatoni and chicken parm, but she refuses because she's careful about her weight, because she'll work as a model in N.Y. after high school. Angie suggests that she's gonna end up like a lot of models - in the porn industry. Then Ana states that the best way to be succsesful in life is to do what you're passionate about which leads to another revelation, which is that Danny writes poetry. Ana says that he should go with her to N.Y. to pursue his poetry and Angie tries to make a joke...which doesn't go well.

Why didn’t they just tell her they weren’t eating carbs before they allowed her to spend ages making it??? Kinda rude to allow her to do that and then be like nah am good

Or another option: Ana could have made a one-time exception. She could have told Angie, "I'm actually watching my weight but since you worked so hard making all this wonderful food, I will have a serving of the rigatoni and chicken and I MAY even have seconds."
Then she could have continued watching her weight the next day.

Edie died at the right moment, if she had stayed around then she would have had nothing to do, her storylines peaked in Season 5 when she was finally more relevant than just some woman down the street who dated the male leads while the writers had nothing else for them to do because their actual partners were busy doing something else, her marriage to David and how she became one of his victims, as well as one of the ghosts tormenting him alongisde Lila, Paige and Heller was a stroke of brilliance, it gave a lot of weight to the storyline and made it far more personal than something like Betty's.
Moreover, I disagree with the idea that Angie and Renee were meant to be absolute subsitutes for her, yes they filled a similar role of the loud, rude, honest-to-a-fault woman, but both had their own stuff to work with that wouldn't have fit with Edie's backstory, and neither of them was nearly as boy-crazy as her, which was her defining trait.
@@nothanks7063 Angie wasn't a replacement but Renée definitely was, it was cringy how hard they were trying to recreate the same Magic they had with Edie and it failed hard.

Losing both Angie and Katherine at the end of Season 6 was a bit much to swallow. They should have kept Angie even just a bit longer into the seventh season.

I'm sicilian and I was in Greece last year. I totally agree with you! I remember that in Greece, my family and I walked a lot (maybe we walked all over Athens) and we ATE EVERYTHING in restaurants
I love Greek food! Lots of vegetables and spices, sometimes it reminds me of Sicilian cuisine... I love everything that has to do with eggplants, especially moussakà

Right? Unless I was allergic to something in the food, I would eat some and thank her graciously! Even if it was something that I didn't really like. If the relationship lasts, there will be time to discuss each others' likes and dislikes when it comes to food. I never liked the Ana character anyways. But I loved Angie. I wish she had stayed on the show for more than the one season!

Minus the Ana situation; I actually liked the mother and son relationship between the two of them. They were close like Susan and Julie once were. I secretly was hoping Danny and Dylan Mayfair would have hooked up instead of Ana.

I freaking loved the season 6 with Angie. I wanted her to stay another season. I fell in love with her acting and her voice both in English and by her French voice actress.
It the Italian dub her voice was pretty bland, it really didn't give her justice. I know Angie is Italo-American, but in the Italian dub she sounds the least Italian of the group.

I had the very same conversation with my youngest daughter yesterday .Which was very difficult because i did modeling for a bit and she knows it.
So i told her that i will support her for one year and that if after a year she hasn't made the cover of a fashion magazine or walked on a runway in Paris , she either drops out of the business or she supports herself and if she ends up in porn, she'll have nobody else to blame but herself. I also told her (and that was a real low kick), that i was scouted and that only models who are scouted succeed, the ones wh aren't are wasting their time pushing the doors of an agency, because if you have the potential to be a model, agents will find you before you find them. Which is not wrong actually.

In which deluded world does she believe she's got what it takes to be a model ? Angie is twice her age and far more beaufiul than she'll ever be and yet not model material .
I was a model and worked for 13 years on runways and ad campaign in France, England, Italy and Japan, and was surrounded with female models. This young girl here, wouldn't even make for a magazine selling garden implements.
Today i am a father and a few years back i had the conversation on modeling when my daughter told me she wanted to be one.
Now she is my own daughter and i love her to death but i had to be honest with her. Of course i didn't want to tell her that she didn't have what it takes to be a model (That's what the casting agent will tell her i thought and i'd rather having her hate him than me), so i told her the second truth about modeling. 95% of the successful models were scouted (as i was, working at a garage as a mechanic when some casting agent brought his car for repair and wouldn't take no for an answer). We live in Switzerland so i told her to go to Paris for a week and walk around all the model agencies and loo at the girls going in and out of them, and then walk up and down the Champs Elysees avenue every day for two hours, and if after a week she is not scouted, come back home and finish college.
Female models are truly aliens, they are not just pretty , they are out of this world beautiful, they don't even look human.
I think this is this type of show that gave the idea to some girls that they actually could make it in that industry. I was making 20 000 a month and i was not even one of the successful ones. My female friends made 20 000 a week , and they were little players compared to the true supermodel who made 20 000 in an hour. IT paid my med school tuition every year and bought me a nice apartment in Geneva. I am grateful for that but i wouldn't recommend the job to anyone who is not scouted. I have seen too many girls and guys ending up as escorts , or in the porn industry .

@JNike Gay people and gay couple can have kids. There is a thing called surrogate mothers, eggs donors for gay men and a thing called sperm bank for gay women, both in couple of single. These surrogate and egg or sperm donors are also widely used by straight people, single or couple who either have difficulties to procreate (infertile men or women) or prefer no to get pregnant for personally or professional reasons or single straight or gay men who want to have kids but do not want to have a partner to have it with biologically or through medical assistance.
You saying that gay couple can't have kids simply because we are gay , while forgetting that hundreds of thousands of straight couple can't have kids either is a little simplistic don't you think ?
I am perfectly fertile and so is my husband and it would be extremely easy to have biological kids but we opted for adoption because i would never buy a dog or cat from a pet shop or a breeder. when i can adopt them for free from a shelter and do something good . I think it is a matter of priority, so just like i opened animal shelters to give animals a second chance in life, i decided to adopt kids for the same reason.
Not because i am gay. if i were straight i would also adopt kids and call them my own, just like my aunt and uncle did.

That the whole point of her character, she is naive and comes from a lower class family. She sees her uncle and aunt being rich and living a high end life. She would naturally want to follow in their footsteps cause they are the only successful people in her life. Another perfect example was when Gaby got back into modeling (Ignoring that in real life she wont be a runway model, due to her height) but even Gabby got her eyes open that she's out of touch in the industry
