I also lost my parents at a young age and Joost describes it the best: I miss us and I miss home. You miss the normal things. You try to keep going, and you will, but there will always be a hole in your heart.
When he sings , he is at the funeral from mom, but it feels normal ( after his dad ) ... that hits me. He could not deal with the pain. Put it a box under his bed.
Exactly this hits home. My dad died and within the year my grandpa and grandma died too. At her funeral I didn't even cry. I was all like sure she died, apparently everyone I love does so whats the point of being sad about. I was nine and ten at the time. You just cant deal with all these big feels at that age
I was there and i think 70% of all the people there where crying. If you watched the entire show he take you on a musical journey starting off with Happy songs. Halfway the show the music get's more aggressive and people are partying hard enjoying life but in the end he will crush you with this poem/song. It's all emotions you can feel within one show. It's crazy. But I guess that's what they call art. This sad song hit's so much harder if you experience pure joy just minutes before. Basically Europapa pulls the same trick like this entire show. He make you happy and crush you in the end leaving you feeling confused but weirdly very satisfied... 😅
Thanks for your reaction. Please do yourself the favour of watching that whole show. Within half an hour you go from fun to rage to tears. Florida 2009 is the last number. He has people jumping, bumping on eachother in moshpits and crying with him. Goosebumps
I think he might have just asked if it was his sister because the camera cut to her repeatedly. Basically the entire audience was crying, yet they showed the same girl half a dozen times (for reference, not criticising in any way, just pointing out where that question probably came from)
He lost both his parents i think at age 12 and 13. All of his songs are about his life and his struggles. i think it could be hard for someone to follow without speaking the dutch language. Do yourself a favor and watch the whole show. Joost klein at lowlands 2023: ruclips.net/video/imBnD8QHh4g/видео.html

Joost is a special man. After losing his parents and becoming homeless, he never gave up. He is a real fighter and a true artist.

Tyvm Mauro for looking further into Joost ❤ ..... love from the Netherlands
What a genuine and lovely reaction to such a sad poem 😢❤
3:30 when he said "can you play a bit more" to the guitarist, it touched my heart❤️
I miss us and i miss home is one of my favourite lines ❤
You should here more from Joost. "papa en mama" is also a song about his parents this is a more danceable and joyful song.
he makes me cry 😢 cry with him(
You are not able to cry because you empathize with someone else? She was a girl in the audience. This song makes me teary eyed every time. 😢
