For my first video of 2020 I have a very interesting piece by one of my favorite Treseros: Pablo Reyes. Mozart’s ‘Sonata n° 16 in C major K545 Facile’ arranged for Guaguancó-Son.
Recorded in June 2017 at ‘Estudios La Makinita’ in Santiago Chile.
Arrangement made for the play "Pianola Para Todos" by Patricio Alvarado.

Paul incredible! Wow. Different but very enjoyable! Amazing how Mozart material can fit into rumba clave time or is it other way around. I read an article on clave a long time ago by a musician and mathematician that explained clave timing was ideal and how originated in middle east couple thousand years ago. Great video!

thank you, this is wonderful and brings up some fond memories. I grew up in Brooklyn and loved going to dances featuring Ricardo Rey (Julliard schooled), with Bobby Cruz and Doc Cheatham, and watch the dancers as Richie took classical solos, and sometimes he sounded like he was playing a clavichord, all in clave. he did the same with a J. C. Bach Christmas Cantata. Charles Fox and his Charanga "Just for Fun" recording were all classic and opera tracks his "Tosca Pachanga" is a total mind-blower. the flamenco group "Son de la Frontera" is led by a tresoro and are all about "cante jondo". more please.
