- We had such a blast getting ready for Hari Raya at Pasar Malam Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Kuala Lumpur.
We specifically went to the night market to buy our Baju Kurung outfits and we certainly DID NOT leave empty handed!
So we just cannot wait to show you our next video where we officially kick off Hari Raya celebrations....with the Malaysian Prime Minister... :O

I don't like to go thru the hassle on the last eve of raya because of the traffic jam and the huge crowd. You guys deserve a standing ovation for doing this. That baju looks great on both of you. i just got back from my hometown for eid. and the first thing i did was to watch this. i had the biggest smile from the start of the video till the last minute. i have said this before and going to say it again, i have nothing but love, respect and admiration for he both of you. pls stay in malaysia forever! and also do a meet up. i will definitely be the first person to show up. ❤️❤️

don't worry you girls did picked the most basic of baju kurung which not that many are wearing nowadays with all those modern rendition of it and you do look very girl next door-y and adorable!

There are traditional ones
Kebaya pendek - it's from the Peranakan worn with a tight fitting batik sarong/skirt
Kebaya labuh..I think it's Pahang?
Kurung Kedah- hip length blouse with wider/three quarter length sleeves and worn with batik sarong/skirt
Teluk belanga - from Johor like the ones you've bought
Cekak Musang- from Pahang rarely if for women..the blouse is with mandarin collar.
Nowadays most people will go for caftan type,arbaya (famous in middle east) or modern cut baju kurung
Would really like to see Justina in kebaya pendek or kebaya Nyonya which is the traditional Nyonya costumes mainly in Malacca or Penang because the Peranakan communities are from the 2 states

We were there for about 6 hours in total. Had to keep stopping for iced drinks haha. Loved the atmosphere though!!

baju raya is actually a general term for new clothes worn for hari raya.... it can be baju kurung, baju kebaya, jubah (abaya), bau melayu (for men) even blouses , shirts, trousers..... but for us we usually where kebaya or kurung on the first day of raya

Once again a very nice video girls! Anyway FYI, the correct spelling for that street is Jalan TUANKU Abdul Rahman and not "Tunku". It is named after our 1st King, Tuanku Abdul Rahman from the state of Negeri Sembilan. His face is printed on every Malaysian Ringgit currency note.

Aiman Marwan owh really im wrong? Then why the road sign spelled Jalan "TUANKU" Abdul Rahman and not Tunku. The street is named after Malaysian 1st Agong (King) and NOT the first Prime Minister. You should do more research about it.

As for the shopping, I wouldn’t get myself out at night (or whatever hours for that matter) in Jalan TAR on Raya eve...😨 I couldn’t stand the crowd ..; but it’s true that place has the best bargain, thus the crowd 💆♀️

How to be a Malaysian ;-
1. Wear jeans and flip-flops.
2. Eat "Nasi Lemak" (Coconut Rice) or "Roti Canai" (Flatbread) for breakfast and drinking "Teh Tarik" (Hot Milk Tea).
3. Stare at your phone all day.
4. Eat "Nasi Campur" (rice dishes with chicken or beef and vegetables) for lunch.
5. Ask for a discount. Say "Berapa" (how much), "Kurang lah sikit" (can I get a better deal), "Boleh" (accept), "Tak apa lah" (refuse nicely).
6. Feeding stray cats who comes on your table by throw your food on the ground and let the cats help themselves.
7. Calling someone older than you "Abang" (brother) for male and "Kakak" (sister) for female. Old man "Pak Cik" (uncle) and old lady "Mak Cik" (aunt). "Adik" for younger people.
8. Love football even we have never reached the world cup tournament.
9. Chillin' at the Mamak restaurant and have a drink after whatever you did like meeting, working, shopping, playing, whatever.
10. Uptown (midnight market) - cheap stuffs from China. "Cuci mata" (hang out without buying anything).
