I used to enjoy our games against Wrexham. Similar size clubs, knocking about in the lower leagues and some entertaining games. The original fan base of 3-5k were a good, friendly bunch. I sincerely hope we don't ever sell out for short term success.
That's a ridiculous thing to say, Wrexham had no other interested buyers, the previous buyer wanted to buy the club solely for the land and then convert it into something else. The Hollywood stars rescued the club. The funny thing is, it also created a lot of buzz around the town - new jobs and tourism, it ain't just the football. And even if it's a "short term success" as you call it, the impact they've made on the town is already huge and we the people who live here appreciate it more than words can say.
Great Sales Job by Cambridge player to get equalizer. The Cambridge player had a bad touch and lost control of the ball going away from goal, his only hope of redemption was to get a penalty. If they had VAR in that game it would have been over ridden on account of the fact that the Cambridge player leaves his back leg out to catch the Wrexham defenders legs to get the penalty. It should have been a card for the dive.
What this highlights didn’t show is a same trip on Wrexham’s Barnett inside the box that the ref didn’t award the penalty. It was early in the game earlier that the first goal. Maybe red didn’t want to award early penalties. But it was the same trip, incredibly bad reffing.
It was obvious the referee had two different standards. Starting with that ridiculous yellow card on Lee after two minutes, that trip of Barnett in the goal area (similar to the penalty situation), the fact that he awarded Cambridge free kicks every time contact was made on them, but not the other way around. With that said, Wrexham should have killed the match earlier so these situations don't matter.
The team was circling the drain pipe and was rescued by these two guys, when most likely a property developer in sheep's clothing would have been the next owner. That's why.
Well, in this case, the owners literally were the reason Wrexham is in this division right now and they're lucky the club didn't even disband. A little Googling would help, better yet, watch the documentary :)
100% a pen, but that nauseating bunch of entitled plastics will still blame the ref. What a sad, soulless, franchise hobby-club plaything club they've unfortunately become..
@Wyliewoozlethat’s like saying I’m never leaving the house because it may be hit by an alien attack while I’m gone…… if he never appeared i believe we would be gone
Rathbone run for second goal 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
looked like a video game character when the AI has already predetermined a that team to score. The speed and the dispossess was unreal.
This was an enthralling draw where Cambridge United battled hard to earn a point away at Wrexham, good friends!!!👍

No pen, but respect to Cambridge for the amazing opening goal. Referee needs to be demoted to National League.
stonewall pen
Barney should have had a pen first half.
Ref was from Blackpool
Why isn’t Wrexhams claim for a penalty in the first half included in these highlights?
Never was that a penalty… in fact I would have booked the striker for diving
what are you on?? if they got rid of the double jeopardy rule that woudlve been a red
Fletcher looks like a bargain basement Zlatan.
Why do defenders bug the ref when a penalty’s given he ain’t gonna take a blind bit of notice just get on with it
Cambridge deserve a point

#11 was inside the 18 on the PK. should have been a redo.
I wonder how much money Channing Tatum spent to make himself look like he has a real job
Easy pen, getting arm across in the box, salty wrexham fans here!
EFL still heavily biased towards Hollywood FC I see.
harsh penalty, attacker makes no attempt to stay on his feet and dives at the slightest contact
True, but naïve defending
It’s the consistency that’s hard to stomach, it wasn’t shown here but there was a clear penalty on Barnett in the first half that wasn’t given

Absolute nonsense. All that money spaffed on a thoroughly unimpressive side full of cloggers. 2pts absolutely dropped by us.
Pardon the pun, but why do refs keep falling for these dives in the box? Should have been a yellow for the Cambridge player
Trying to celebrate like Stansfield the wet wipe 😂
What's that got to do with the football?? Stop mentioning their owners

Cambridge celebrating a draw like they have just won the league how sad 😂
So you’re saying we shouldn’t celebrate when we get a point away to second in the league?
@ not saying you shouldn’t, just found it funny all the Cambridge fans calling Wrexham all these names, but act like that
Instead of showing actors how about showing some football
That second goal shouldnt have stood. The defender was fouled. Fair result in the end
Ludicrous, he got to the ball first. That was superb from Rathbone.

Enjoy league 2 next season 😢
Gatekeeping shits like you really poison the game. I am a Cambridge fan by the way. Grow up.
And you would swop places with us in an instant……. Don’t even try to deny it
@@markoutdoors8353 dunno mate i wouldnt want my club to go into administration the moment ryan reynolds leaves it
