sorry, probably not. album reactions usually are a pain copyright wise that’s why all my compilations are 4 songs only, anything over that is a bit of overediting then people complain about the cuts or song being muted periodically
I think the beginning not being translated was intentional to show how non-Korean speakers can take for granted the fact that RM is the bilingual leader of BTS. After your reaction, I also agree that the TV show hosts are portraying some level of fakeness that BTS has sometimes received while being interviewed by Western media. I want to check out Severance now because I think you might be on to something there. Thanks for your video.
My brain still exploded at that world collision. RM is like a fresh new indie artist that I found on RUclips late at night….except he’s the leader of the biggest group 😂
Lowkey, either that or just made him realize how fun it is to expand on the type of music he himself likes to listen to. Just adds to the element of falling in love with the process again. This chapter is very important for them and other artists/idols should keep this as a high priority as well.
@@anthonytoo everything is perfect like the production, the lyrics , the vocals , the rap .And if find it interesting bc I never thought rm would do songs like this . The whole album is like a mix of Tyler the creator, Frank ocean , joji and childish gambino . For the moment my favorites are lost , groin , domodachi, cbtm , ??? (Interlude) and heaven
San Yawn who's a Balming Tiger member, worked on the album as a producer and creative director!! Meeting and working with Balming Tiger really helped scratch an artistic inch i think!
It reminded me of severance. It also reminded me a bit of Inside Out with the different parts of himself inside his head. I think it was pretty significant that they played rock paper scissors to see who would climb up to be the one that “puts on the performance” for the world.
"Kim Namjoon, another work of art of this genius. 'Lost', is a moving reminder of the fragility of human emotions and the struggle to find in the chaos of life. I don't have the shorts behind it portraying your poetic words. I always believed that music is a form of art. Looking for ”,“ I'm still running, but I don't know where to go ”and“ all in the nights and every night, I feel that life is dead ”, wow: it's like he's describing exactly how half of people feel unable to speak And they saw ghosts of their lives. I think RM has more demons in their bright head, than sometimes appears, and being the leader and keeping all together taking care of every detail, is a very heavy burden. Fortunately he will find these lost parts of himself at the end of the album - come back to me. Glad he splashes them in art form we will continue to support and raise this literal genius. Congratulations once again Namjoon.💜👏👏👏
Severance or the movie "Being John Malkovich". The text even say " suddenly I'm in an empty street" ( in korean) an in "Being John Malkovich" - when the failed artist find the portal into John Malkovich's brain - he is later thrown out to the streets of New Jersey. ( Watch the trailer for the movie )
i love this music video, it's a bit of a trip (in a fun way) but i mean i imagine most creative geniuses have this chaos goin on in their brains hahaha this project seriously gave me a slight tyler/gambino vibe that i really loved (ik ppl hate comparisons but like i jus gotta say it) . do you have a favorite track anthony??
Absolutely agree on the comparisons, which, actually have you heard Gambino's latest project for his movie coming up? There's some absolutely great songs on that album. I am preparing to give this album the car test while I go to the cafe to get a matcha, and after which this may change but for now I'm thinking LOST! is the most easily digestible track, but I'm loving the choir and vibe of Around the world in a day atm and Domodachi is fun too!
Completely forgot abt Severance (I think I saw the trailer), but now, I'm definitely gonna check it out. I took it as all RM's perspective, both his inner selves and his outward perception. The show itself is his POV of performing, with a lot of the showrunners/staff just there to do a job (but with an occasional person genuinely happy to have them there). He probably feels this way most on foreign stages, which is why the hosts are foreign. And when he feels unsure of himself, he's trying to figure out what kind of persona to bring out, but this is also showing how there are times when he finally settles into himself, everything is already over. I also took the whole office setting to be symbolic with how he can see his career as how many may see an office job, where being a musician can be such a _job_ even tho it's also his pursuits of his passion/smt he loves.
Yes check out Severance and then you can peep Dark Matter after, fire shows. I like your perspective as well, it definitely makes sense, it's still work!
loved your reaction! he's such a genius, this mv is brilliant and i love seeing him continuously evolve and show us new sides of himself 💯 also i know exactly what performance artist you were trying to think of - is it Yoann Bourgeois? let me know 😜
Have u watched the new vid on bangtantv? The minimoni music, they did listening party for rpwp and namjoon tell the behind story of the album, it give us context about the album better.
i may be overthinking it or wtv but i think yes, this mv depicts how he's LOST in everyday situations. From the awkwardness and fakeness in the tv show, the hosts speaking korean which sounds rubbish to him, to the distorted korean on the mugs (y'all gotta notice this cause that implies a lot imo). Also I think the five people including him (all labelled as RM) are his braincells/expressions/personalities which all have their own different characteristics, considering how often he talks about this. Think of those like those emotions in inside out, the dominant one pops out time to time. The RM performing is the one we see on screen. The RM peeking from the table is one RM looking and lowkey judging another RM watching him perform, while the remaining four RMs enjoy from beneath. One thing that bothers me judging from the lyrics is that maybe.... he's saying that all the RM's are lost, doing their own lil work throughout the whole mv, but they are atleast free to express themselves in his mind like the water gallon scene. The personalities he hides from screen atleast are able to do what they want even when they're trapped like the lady RM applying lipstick and stuff. But the RM performing looks dead inside and just aloof from his surroundings...so the title LOST! makes so much more sense also lord is it too much to ask for those lil clay namjoons they're so smol
In a world of bland homogeneous pop. RM makes you stop and think. Its strangely addictive and after a 4th or 5th listen... its a favourite. In a world of fast fashion and fast pop designed more for the fast buck than art. RM is that rare breed. A successful artist with alot to lose who just wants to make music. He trusts that his fans are not stupid and will enjoy complex ideas, interesting sound scapes and music designed to provoke your own imagination not be disposable brain dead junk. I am reposting this because I do not think I can say it better.
Yeah I definitely think the video is the vehicle for making you want to watch this again and again. Like the song is good for me but halfway through I realized that I'm not fully listening cuz I'm just trying to figure out what's going on LOL. I'm getting into the album this weekend though and it really seems like he is in his most creative bag yet. Also you finally watched severance. That's what's up! I would love to know your thoughts but I feel like that requires a complete multi-part breakdown LMAO😅
Alot of people were saying that because of the intro and the wig he wore for a few seconds in the mv that RM is plagiarizing Tyler and has no originality/wants to be him. What do you think?
I think wearing the wig was paying homage to, because the top part of the song sounds similar to/ some Tyler. I think being inspired is totally fine, saying RM has no originality or not wanting to be himself after the lyrics within the album is wild not to mention personal feats he’s accomplished smh. 😂
My goodness, he has outdid himself with this track and the entire experience that the RPWP album is... wow.
are we gonna get the rpwp album reaction on RUclips at some point?
