  • Take yourself back in time and go for a walk around old Larne, past some lovely buildings and get a feel for when the town was once the oldest tourist resort in Ireland.

4.50, The Silver Lounge. I had many refreshments there on Saturday afternoons many, many decades ago! Lived on Craigy Hill. Greetings from a Brit residing in the USA.

Hello, I am researching the story of he RAF Air Sea Rescue Unit in Larne in WW2. Would you have any photos please of the harbour in the 1930s/1940s and of Castle Sweeney, which was used for accommodation. Many thanks.

Pure memories of happy times, when Larne was a proud town. May it be like the Pheonix and rise from the ashes of mediocrity.

very good but also quite fast I would have liked to have been given more time to take in the sights seems more of a run than a stroll

Just a shame that Larne has gone downhill rapidly since the Larne-Stranraer service was withdrawn. Even Dunnes has pulled out of once a great town. Now it is nothing and I was born and bred there and I loved it......now it is gone
