Hello, I am researching the story of he RAF Air Sea Rescue Unit in Larne in WW2. Would you have any photos please of the harbour in the 1930s/1940s and of Castle Sweeney, which was used for accommodation. Many thanks.
Just a shame that Larne has gone downhill rapidly since the Larne-Stranraer service was withdrawn. Even Dunnes has pulled out of once a great town. Now it is nothing and I was born and bred there and I loved it......now it is gone

can remember the bathing boxing and the beachs were full of poeple and drain bay and the best beach in the glens brown,s bay now very few to there

Pure memories of happy times, when Larne was a proud town. May it be like the Pheonix and rise from the ashes of mediocrity.

Im an Enniskillen man myself.. settled here ... shame the town planners ruined the town
I got stuck there one night during the troubles i thought i could easily book a HOTEL.
My mother was from Larne, Meeting house street at the head a the town, great childhood memories.
