Its amazing to see how well preserved Chester is with so many streets recognizable today. North Wales as whole is still a great place to live and visit.
@@joshuabailey3556 That's true, its focus in this film might have been missplaced. But these days Deeside, Flint, Prestatyn and Rhyl are not exactly overflowing with charm. Ruthin and Mold are nice.
The film is more of a 'detailed look at Chester, with a brief visit to a couple of places in the scary land to the west' 😅. Still interesting, but definitely of its time!
Pity they built that circular road within the walls, on the Northgate side, about 40 years ago. Cut the canal side from Chester city centre. Went through sections of the wall of course.
Interesting old film. Well worth a view. But a very misleading title 'A Tour of North wales', since most of the film is about Chester, which is in England, and no scenes of Wales are shown at all until after 2/3 of the way through. It's rather like titling a film 'A Tour of North France' and then devoting 2/3 of the film to scenes of Dover.

Historic remains ... historical site... cognitive Excellent !!!
It was more simpler and more magical time full of wonder I think....
You're absolutely correct!
Excellent! Loved every minute 💞
I enjoyed every minute of it! Thank you...
Would love to see vintage films of the Isle of Lewis, and the Isle of Wight.
Beautiful, thank you very much.

I live here in Chester. Doesn't look like it has changed all that much

It's amazing to be reminded of what Chester was like before Brexit. A once great city.
😅
I love it! The music is a bit incongruous. How about digging up some old Welsh traditional music? Thank you!
Where would this have been shown? In a cinema?

😂
Was Chester originally within Wales ?
No Never, it is the part of the original border between Wales and England. Parts of which is Shropshire was in Wales
the end again
What, no street signs in Cymraeg?
I see a comment saying that Chester actually is in England, but close to Wales. The last few minutes were the Welsh Coast.
I used to live there....
