45 ACP Reloading - Dialing in the Perfect Load

  • I am using the ProChrono DLX to help me dial in was I consider the perfect load velocity for my Glock 30 GEN4 45 ACP.
    Reloading press - Lee Classic Turret
    Firearm - Glock 30 GEN 4

    Good vid! Bullet seat depth, crimp, powder, primers can all affect speed. Also if you get a powder that is sensitive to weather and other environment conditions, that will affect it as well

      Thank you, and you are absolutely right! Even within the manufactures specifications for each of those pieces there are tolerances that are acceptable. And then add in weather and external factors and we can only hope to get in a ballpark of consistency. However, it is fun to try and dial in what we can for a nice overall comfortable load.     Allmost sounds like your scales are off just a tad. I had that problem once. Got a better scale an saw that my charge weights where 1 grain more than what I thought they where.

    Not sure what your issue was. I have a G30S, I aim to get 1200fps from a 250gr.

      When I chrono, I find that the chrono shows 200-300fps more than reality. Removing the shades fixed the issue. I don't understand why. I used the same chrono before and did not have this issue. I was at the same location as always. So far I have to always remove the shades with the new chrono.
