One key is more of a creature comfort feature. Similar to heated seats, some people love it and some people don’t need it. For folks who are doing repetitive jobs that require precise torque numbers and things of that nature, one key is super helpful
I read an article where One Key helped a contractor find his drill that someone stole. The drill was locked out from the app so the thief couldn't use it...the guy didn't know what was going on and when his foreman and the owner of the drill approached him...the owner reenabled the tool and it worked....safe to say that guy lost his job for stealing someone else's drill instead of buying his own
@jonahkaiguam I don't see many good points for this, but at a job with mechanics who use company tools all day. Being able to know when and where they were used would help with tracking productivity and all types of shit
Products are full of unnecessary features that people love. No doubt there are many you wouldn't wanna go without. Does your car or residence have AC? Unnecessary feature
I work for Home Depot warehouse I load and unload trailers, I seen all the new stuff for the last 3 months and been wondering what it was lol thank you for the good video keep it up!
I hear they have a subscription model in the pipeline: the tool is only $99 but you have to purchase a subscription for $199/year that allows you up to 350 fasteners per month. (Fasteners sold separately) Or you can purchase the premium plus subscription for $699 and includes unlimited usage for 5 years.
Now we will need to do updates on our drills. Great! Oh and we will have to figure out how to turn the thing up through a program? Track where I use it and store it. How could this go wrong? Wait till someone learns how to track your tools so they can steal them, disable the gps, and sell to someone else.
I dunno how old this video is, but I’ve had the one key Bluetooth set for like 7 years. And I’ve only used the feature 3 times since 2016 & it was to locate my drill I had lost. So it’s worth it if you tend to lose things. But other than that it’s just unnecessary. Grab a few hockey pucks that do the same thing keep em in your pack out or whatever you use. They do the same thing for hundreds of dollars less
I’m rocking an earlier set of One Key right now. It could be a gen 1 version, I don’t really know. I rarely see One Key and thought they had abandoned it. Glad to see it’s still relevant.
If I remember correctly AVE commented on this. The connection feature itself is mainly because the BIC box store does not buy the tools. The brand owns the tool and only gets the money if it is bought. But what happens if the tool just walks out of the shop without gbeingbpaid for... The brand gets jack. Solution: the tool does not even start without being activated in the shop checkout system. Thanks America for bringing another bonkers solution for a problem rather specific to your society's problems. Haven't heard any other country having this level of shopkifu problem.
Milwaukee's had OneKey tools since the 2nd gen Fuel tools, which was 8 years ago. This was just the announcement that the 4th gen was finally getting OneKey options
Bruh… cant I just have a drill thats a fvcking drill. All these features are for gen z and they dont even work… I dont want syncing. I dont want cloud storage. I dont always have service where im working.
I hope they dont push this crap on the average consumer. I can see applications for something like this but for the average homeowner or even tradesman this is going to be an expensive headache.
This is what I mean by they are doing too much to everything now a days. I think they want to be able to lock it so when it gets stolen it becomes paperweight and you have to buy a new one just like phones .
Wow. Wifi tools gotta be the most useless thing I've ever seen. The only person that would use reports from a drill is thw guy who created the drill to run tests on it. The average joe just needs to put a hole in the wall.
Time to get drills before they can shut them off

They gonna put a touch screen on it next
Best way for your boss to find out where you're😂
Sorry, adding One Key shit to a tool isn't "upgrading" it. Don't come at me with the stupid preset shit.
Heres comes all the one key connection issues, etc. Plus onekey is worthless if you lose your tool and someone removes the coin battery
It is for those who want it. Same as any other feature

Heard one key drains the battery more plus i dont need my drills to have a whole damn network jus do what drills are supposed to do
Next thing you know your going to have to buy the premium package every month to use the tools full potential

Milwaukee, work it out chaps.... drop this connected game and make 'more sales' as all tradesmen drop the other 'connected' brands

Wrong
Oh great! More tracking!
Caddo is where big ones are year around
They can’t hack my concrete star drill..
SDS...
No model number and Home Depot have no idea on Milwaukee 4th Gen impact driver!😂
I need a blu tooth activated drill
They probably gon charge extra $200 for this
They want $1,400 for it. I'm not kidding. This is the tool only too
So the only thing really useful is possibly locating your tool if someone took it?
Your sorta getting it
The other things are valuable for companies that provide tools to workers, like assembly plants.
Connected tools? Pass🙄 what’s next locked out features
You say that now but wait a few years
Service times of the tool? I have never heard of a basic power tool getting serviced. Use it til it breaks, buy a new one.
I’m good. You’ll never catch me with a Milwaukee 🤷🏻♂️.
Why?
Because so many are being stolen from Home Depot
Snitching cordless drill. It will tell your boss how long you worked in a day.
Great now my boss can see i haven't done any work.....
Didn’t dewalt come out with this like 4 years ago 😂
Milwaukee's had OneKey tools since the 2nd gen Fuel tools, which was 8 years ago. This was just the announcement that the 4th gen was finally getting OneKey options
Les what if I stole that device and after I still liked what if I put a new chip for it it's not that much difficult for an architect😅
For a business, this sounds great. For the homeowner, it’s not worth the extra price
The "Big Brother" series.
Not paying taxes? Talking about the government? They have the ability to shut every tool you own off
Yeah put more computers that are more things to go wrong
All brushless tools already have computers in them.
Onekey is worthless. If someone takes your power tool. All they have to do is remove the coin battery from the drill and you are SOL
Bruh… cant I just have a drill thats a fvcking drill. All these features are for gen z and they dont even work… I dont want syncing. I dont want cloud storage. I dont always have service where im working.
No one is forcing you to buy these products. And they don't require any sort of service to operate
i already buy new impact and now came of new impact + detection 😅😅😅
This is fucking insane
That's what people once said about phones with features like cameras and web browsers
L if u loose your tools or work with people that steal shit u got dif problems
Keep em
Not worthy , At Australia the 4th Gen combo (With impact and hammer)just $599 but the one key sale $859 way to over priced
I just want my hammer drill to be faster and smaller.
Monthly subscription to unlock speed 3
I hope they dont push this crap on the average consumer. I can see applications for something like this but for the average homeowner or even tradesman this is going to be an expensive headache.
Too many scammers are trying to beat me with free Milwaukee products it's a risk of installing the Pegasus intrusion software so I never touch it

Over-engineered
Ill stick woth the cheap ryobi I dont have to worry about being stolen anyways.
It will get stolen, desperate people will steal anything
as a data engineer and tool enthusiast this makes me happy, but it seems too much for someone who just uses them for what they are, tools.
O lord
Jesus loves you God bless
Sounds like they are copying Hilti
Find My Drill
why people buy tools to track themselves?
One key is the biggest turnoff
Yall seen Terminator. Just say no...
There gonna track you
I'll pass...please tell me your joking..
So with all this cloud tech that probably means I can’t buy em from crackheads who steal them anymore ??
Lol hell no.
The one key is honestly a joke
Running out of ideas is what's happening & Reaching peak torque uggh duggags.
Gen4 is the worst step of milwaukee, weak drill ,just hope put more newtons on this tools god please
Fuuuhhhh Noooooo
WHY???????......Stupid crap to charge more? TOTALLY USELESS!!
This seems like a horrible and very needless idea
Wow. Wifi tools gotta be the most useless thing I've ever seen. The only person that would use reports from a drill is thw guy who created the drill to run tests on it.

It’s gonna flop, nobody is gonna pay for that
the gen 4 impact sucks
No. Just no!
Useless nonsense pointless upgrades 😂
😂😂😂
Nope lmao
So gay. I don't need more shit with wireless
They literally copied hilti and dewalt. Sorry mfs. Lols.
Sorry mfs, Milwaukee has had this since 2015. Before dewalt and hilti
@@brugermate I am very sorry that this is a good thing to you fanboy
@@adamacosta7279 wat? I was just saying that Milwaukee didn’t copy hilti and dewalt

Millwacky 😂

Those one keys are trash. I'll never buy another one ever again 😂
