This is the absolute benchmark for ‘how do I play that’ type lessons. No talking, clear view of your fingers, great tone and playing, synchronised tab view.
Thank you very much for your great and kind comment. Appreciated a lot. Although in this particulair video there are some mistakes in the tabs. The first 9 notes must be played one string below than shown in the tabs. I've tried to correct it by mentioning it in the subtitles or closed captions. (they must be turned on by the viewer however in the RUclips videoplayer) Anyhow, thnx again and I hope this vid will be helpful to play this great solo as well. All the best. PtG. 👍
I think you really captured even the smallest of nuances to this solo that a lot of players miss. It really reflects in the smoothness of the playing. Really well played
Brilliant, best tab lessons out. This solo inspired me to want to play when was a kid. This made finally getting around to learning it a clear joy. Cheers, wan lv
Thank you very much for your visit and great comment. Much appreciated. The first 9 notes of the tabs are wrong. The notes must be played a string below. The rest of the tabs are correct. Thnx again. PtG
Never heard this one before, but surprised to hear that this is Mike Oldfield ! It has a country vibe at the first, but is very great sounding, great lesson!!!
You are correct! Th first 9 notes are tabbed wrongly. I tried to mention that at 1:05 with closed captions to warn the viewers. Thank you for mentioning this. PtG
Wow, superb interpretation my friend of this chorus of legend, it's really beautiful. Well played and Big like#38. Thank you for this pedagogic sharing Musically Phil
You are very correct! And I have mentioned it through the closed captions or subtitles. I think I'm gonna do a retake of this one. Anyhow, thnx a lot for letting me know. Appreciated. PtG
Hello and thnx a lot! For this solo I used the following effects: a bit overdrive, reverb, chorus and a bit delay for the first part. The same effects but more overdrive for the endsolo. On my amp I colored the tone with treble and bass. A bit less treble and a bit more bass.
@@PlaythatGuitar maybe also the 23rd note you got that on the A string 9th fret maybe that should be on the D string 9th fret. Though I am probably wrong. But thanks, pretty good playing.
is there any chance on telling what effects u use ... and in what kind of combination ... i can seethe switch ,,,, can t figure out the tone combination thanks
Hello. For this song I used Turbo Overdrive(in the first part less than in the solo part), some reverb, some delay, and I tweaked the treble nad bass on my amp to color the tone. Hope this was a bit helpful. PtG
I think this solo is more or less easy if you leave out the double stops with bending. That's why I will first try it without them. And in the years to come hope to get it right. That's a whole effort, at least for me.
I agree with you. I've been practicing this for a few years on and off and recently I've decided to nail the melody first and then gradually add the double stops etc. I think it will take a lot time and practice to perfect it. It's quite a long and difficult piece in places
all the tabs (including this one) which i have tried have felt so weeeeird and uncomfortable and like "how can i not play this? i can play WAY harder stuff". then i started playing along without looking at tabs and i found the notes in different positions that actually made sense
great indeed but the tab in the beginning is wrong. i was like "what is happening" for a second :p . the whole pattern of the first notes is writen on different strings
Thnx a lot for your message. I had a closed caption(subtitle) in the vid to mention that error. But now I've added the message in the video descrption as well.

I second this. Found this an absolute breeze to pick up the basics while killing a big of time. Definitely be back to get the more difficult bits!
yes brilliant
A great and perhaps underrated song, beautifully played and transcribed for mere mortals.
Thank you very much!
I think you really captured even the smallest of nuances to this solo that a lot of players miss. It really reflects in the smoothness of the playing. Really well played
Hello and thnx a lot! :-)) Unfortunately there are a few mistakes in the tabs I made but I hope they are forgiven.
All the best. PtG
Awesome man!! Great lesson!
Nice one PTG.
1:05 the first nine tabs of this page are on the wrong string and the last one (9~) also
Great lesson & tab. I just watched it upside down to see the fretting from the same angle as I play and found it really useful! ❤
Thank you very much! :-))
Very talented!
I really really love that song! I remember having the vinyl of this song! It was so great. Thank you for the nice memories. :)

The introduction to Moonlight Shadow is shifted down a string on the tablature.
You are correct! Th first 9 notes are tabbed wrongly. I tried to mention that at 1:05 with closed captions to warn the viewers. Thank you for mentioning this. PtG
Thanks for the great tutorial. It's way harder than I expected to, but I'll do it. First time trying the double stops, and those have bends!
Thank you very much! :-)

Great video tutorial.. and you're really amazing.. very useful channel 💖
@Play that Guitar!! may i ask what strings are/weere you using in this song?
Hello. I always play on 009-042 gauge. :-))
I didn't even know I wanted to play this until now😂. Peace, love and respect my musical brother✌❤🙏🤘🎸🎸
Hello and thnx a lot! The first 9 notes of the intro are tabbed incorrectly. They must be played one string below. Have fun with the song! PtG :-))
Great guitar sound, like the original, awesome guitar playing!
1:40 for the bend part
There is a mistake on the nine first notes. You must start on D string and shift all the notes one string down till the 9th note.
You are very correct! And I have mentioned it through the closed captions or subtitles. I think I'm gonna do a retake of this one. Anyhow, thnx a lot for letting me know. Appreciated. PtG
great stuff. easy to follow.
any suggestion on the effects used for the solo sounds?
Hello and thnx a lot!
For this solo I used the following effects: a bit overdrive, reverb, chorus and a bit delay for the first part. The same effects but more overdrive for the endsolo.
On my amp I colored the tone with treble and bass. A bit less treble and a bit more bass.

I believe there's a slight mistake in the tablature, since it starts on the D string in the intro, not on A.
Other than that, really great cover ;)
You are correct! I've mentioned it in the description a while ago. Thnx for your comment and for letting me know. :-)
@@PlaythatGuitar maybe also the 23rd note you got that on the A string 9th fret maybe that should be on the D string 9th fret.

I've put the correction in the closed captions of the vid.
This is a new one for me though I have heard of Mike Oldfield. I think he did Tubular Bells. Great playing and lesson.
Tabs are wrong - grrrr.... :-( Well done anyhow ;-)
Your tab for the intro is not right, nice playing tho
Thnx a lot for letting me know. I've put a message in the vid that the notes are not correct. Much appreciated. 👍
