Hello,I'm a japanese FD3S owner. I imagine it's so hard to push FD3S with no wing, stock suspension and street tires in such a highspeed bumpy circuit. Impressive!
thx :) its quite tricky with stock suspension and street tyres, yes! but driving without a wing is no problem.personally i think there is no big advantage from a rear spoiler even if its a huge GT-wing. greetings from germany!
Mazda really did something great when they made these cars. This is a bit of the 1990's, with nothing but a bit of unobtrusive ABS getting between you and the tyres. Good chassis with a good driver, great to watch. I love these cars.
if you want to chase fd3s, nsx-r, skyline gt-r driven by experts, to be sure you have to look at cars like the gt-3, r8 or maybe corvette...these japanese were not absolutely fast nor poweful cars, but the overall balance makes them break the rules on track. same what happened with the gtr
thx dude. cant just run into these dudebags at the end, so i had no choice...but they certainly pissed me off at the moment. the R2 suspension is great for a stock one, especially on public roads its perfect.but its a little too soft for proper track use. check out my new vids, i did tons of modifications since my visit on the ring.the car is a lot faster now and still not finished. :)
thank you. when i look at this, i spot so many mistakes...but the brakes were almost gone, street tyres were mounted and it was only my 3rd lap with this car. im going to go to the ring early next year.i wannabe about half a minute faster than this lap. the car is almost ready for that. :)
Good fun video. I have been myself. I would say you need to be smoother in the turns and not change gear mid corner like you do and definitely not be so confused with the accelerator and brake. Brake and then accelerate hard out, not accurate then brake and the accelerate again, it makes for lost time and busy hands. Looks a well put together car with nice flat cornering though could be a tad quicker out of the corners. I'm glad you shared.
thx, hope you enjoyed it! have a look at the description.suspension is stock but its a type R2 model so the suspension is a little stiffer and lower.almost all bushes in the rear have been changed to PU bushes. im planning to upgrade the suspension pretty soon.gonna get me some nice coilovers.
nah, thats ok.when i want to rip it down a straight, i have a drive on the autobahn.look at the description and look at my other videos, if you are interested.you will find answers. next month it gets a new mapping at about 13 psi.right now, its running about 10 psi.i have upgraded a few things. v-mount water- and intercooler and a bunch of other goodies.
gtirjaymz85 so far it has never let me down a single moment.i mean i NEVER had ANY issue at all.i bought the car with the engine rebuilt a bit more than 11k kilometers ago.i have done about 15k km myself and still no sign about the engine losing power or behaving weird in any way. its a heavy drinker of course and you have to maintain it carefully and often. i dont recommend it as a daily driver, but it is possible. parts are quite expensive but it depends on where you live.
15,000 km's is nothing on a rebuild. You'll be fine for a good while then! Nice motor you have got. I'm in the UK but also have contacts in Japan as I lived there for 2 years. So parts wouldnt be a problem. What fuel consumption do you get on average?
gtirjaymz85 the engine was build by hayward rotary, so i hope it will last some time more. i have no idea about the fuel consumption, because i dont care.i think thats something you should not consider when driving an rx7. i figure its at least about 15l/100km when driving slow. when driving on a race track it goes easily up to about 50-60 liters / 100km!
081588101 from my experience oil in slow parts off a track hits easy 100c and from what i know thats a bit to much :) i had to work on air ductings to take more air on the oil coolers .as for water im hitting 90c top after all the water mods i have done . air temp is critical as well if u want to have the same power all the time even if u are in track after 20 minutes. If u check them as well u will see they go way up very easy its good to use an vented hood and water injection helps a lot :)
thank you very much. i know the track by heart for more than 10 years now.i think the first time i managed to memorize the whole circuit came with gran turismo 4. i used to simrace quite a lot, which also comes handy, plus i have watched tons of onboard videos. i think i know the track pretty well, considering i have only done about 40 real laps. i have uploaded my very first lap on the nordschleife on my channel.its hilarious.
I am visiting nurburgring early next month and will have some driving there. it will be my first. any tips? i am memorizing on gt5, with joystick unfortunately.
Randy Lasmana if you know the track by heart on GT5, you will be surprised how detailed the track is converted to the game.the driving is something else, u wont learn that on GT5.but its perfect for learning the track as it is shockingly realistic. keep practicing it on GT5, thats the best you can do.where will you rent your car at the ring?
081588101 mate, sure thanks. will learn the track from gt5 and on board video. i will rent from the website of nurburgring. they have swift sport, clio rs, ft86. any suggestion on car rental? i think having instructor will be good also.
Randy Lasmana you´re welcome.dont rent the cars from the nürburgring company directly. rent them from "rent4ring" (www.rent4ring.de). the cars are faster and cheaper.plus the guys working there are absolutely fantastic.just visit the website and phone one of the guys, they are very friendly and will sure help you out, even when it comes to places for the night to sleep.
You need to either bring up the ride height or stiffen your springs man....Every time you hit the brakes or made a corner all i could hear was the body/chassis making contact with the road.....Car would handle much better if it did not. But good drive none the less!
i have to disappoint you.the body never made contact with the road. despite you probably mixing up different noises, it is something else u noticed. try again! :) also the video is almost a year old, a lot of changes have been going on since back then.
thank you for your concerns, sir! i will consider wearing a helm next time. but driving without is a little more comfortable and you have more visibility.

awesome. from 2:26 - 2:30 made me a little nervous. looked like the car almost went sideways. amazing driving and amazing car.

if you want to chase fd3s, nsx-r, skyline gt-r driven by experts, to be sure you have to look at cars like the gt-3, r8 or maybe corvette...these japanese were not absolutely fast nor poweful cars, but the overall balance makes them break the rules on track. same what happened with the gtr
thats right, but keep in mind that this car is far from stock.

i think you are a troll. :)
Ok, well that's an opinion, just not the right one. I've been racing since I was 13, but hey what do I know?
Just sick too watch!
ja ik würde sagen der herr bei seiner lieblings beschäftigung... fliegen fangen auf der nordschleife :) sieht verdammt zügig aus!
FD, king of the ring. ;-) Sadly the Mini spoiled the last corners. Good drive though.
Schon mal übern Helm nachgedacht?
Den so ganz ungefährlich ist das ja dann doch nicht...

That was amazing, you're a good driver.
Is the suspension tuned on your rx7?
You can see your passenger grinning, lol.
thx, hope you enjoyed it!

Too bad you didn't get to rip it down the straight. Good video though. Whats that thing do on a dyno?
nah, thats ok.when i want to rip it down a straight, i have a drive on the autobahn.look at the description and look at my other videos, if you are interested.you will find answers.

Yup that's an Ice Cream van on the Nordschleife
?
if I was that passenger I would prob have pooped my pants!
Nice drive. Shame about the mini driver at the end messing up the lap time. What tyres were you running? Sounded like they were struggling!
thx!
the tyres WERE struggling, thats totally right.
have a look at the description. :)

How reliable is your RX7? I want one but want to know the true running costs from owners.
gtirjaymz85

Nice car NIce Skills :)
What temps Do u get in the track?
water oil air
U have to check more temps :) better for the life span off ur engine of course u do not have hot days like we do in Cyprus so u are cool lol
geo pouros
no, i dont have to.
water temp. is critical.
the rest is not so much of an issue.
Cool man :) take care rexy !!
geo pouros
cool.
take care of yours too! :)
this sounds exactly like the rx7 in gt sport. wow....
im sorry sir, but its the other way round, this is the real life server. :D
yes, thats how i meant it :D
appreciate
that mini tho
great skill.... how did you memorize the circuit?
thank you very much.

that would be the tires touching the wheel arches. witch is mostly normal on a setup like this lol
Tony Crawford
much closer...
it has been the back tyres, not touching the arches, but the top of the wheel housings.
Wankelpower!!! Hammergeil!!!
What happened to your car?
ruclips.net/video/R_Dkjr-TM68/видео.html
It is better that was changed to Potenza.
Will auch .___.
Nice driving, but get a helmet please sir ^^
thank you for your concerns, sir!
i will consider wearing a helm next time.

pech gehabt. :D
