Just bought the TCL C735 75" today, it will be replacing the more expensive Sony X950G 65". Needed a 144hz panel for RTX4090 and 5800X3D, and I use the screen also for work (splitting the screen to four smaller windows). Image quality wise I'm expecting a different beast with slightly less haloing, but overall quite similar motion and upscaling.
I'm most excited about the refresh rate jump from 60hz to 144hz, VRR and FreeSync Premium, and of course the size! It was around 1.7K AUD / 158K JPY from Amazon Japan with installation and postage, an okay deal. Next step from this is 85" MiniLED in 2025/2026!

      @@TeamRetro 2 things you need to check, 1st the HDMI port, I think only HDMI 4 is 2.1 4K 144HZ, the other is 2.1 4K 120HZ and the other 2 are 4K 60HZ.
2nd thing, under nVidia control panel, you may need to create a custom resolution for it to work, before doing any of this, set your PC in 1080P on a different panel, then try to boot up on this panel, you should be able to then do your testing.

Hey a little update, I bought this tv for my mother and waiting for it to be delivered this week. If you want to have less tired eyes it's better to have less bright tv, I tested oled c2 from LG but had to scale it down a lot and had to return it back because snow is to bright and looks like plane white

I almost bought LG C2 65" today over the TCL C735 75", but quite honestly, the burn-in worries, smaller size, 24hz less in refresh rate, and more than double the price made me think that I'll go for the TCL. I can always upgrade in a couple of years using rest of the money, which is more fun. Albeit from gaming I won't budge, spent atrocious amount of money on a waterblocked RTX 4090 iChill Frostbite ( 1990 USD). But hey, sometimes one has to splurge!

@@narugaa I ordered the Japanese C735 and it was only 60hz 4K, not 144hz as per advertised. And the image quality was really bad after Sony X950G, so I went for Sony X95K in the end and it has been fantastic (mini led). False advertising in my book, Amazon returned my money based on that and contacted TCL.

@@MadViking82 OLED is a joke, you need to nurse the panel and have too many protective measures in place if you're going to use it as a PC monitor.

I bought this TV in the 65 inch model just before last years world cup in Qatar and got it half price in the black friday sales, and WOW! Coming to this from my trusty old 40 inch 1080p Sony KDL 40CX525 it's just been amazing! And for gaming it has to be the best value gaming TV out there I'd have thought.
And it seems to perform very well at everything else also, I'm very happy with it.
Also can I ask you what you think of the SAMSUNG UE75BU8000KXXU 75" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR LED TV? Just my friend and neighbor has just had one delivered today and he's tried to one up me buy buying a 75 inch screen and he's banging on about it having this crystal display, but I think my TCL is a better TV, I'd love to know what you think?

Your TV has Quantom dots, his Samsung does not. Also his Samsung has a 60Hz panel for refresh rate, your TV has a 120Hz panel. Your TV model is at least one full class better. He has a bigger tv. But not better in any sense. Plus Google TV operating system beats out Samsungs TIZEN OS (operating system) everytime.
You can rest easy you have an all around better tv, just smaller.

@@dejanharapinyt Ah thanks for the reply. Yes I thought my TV is certainly better when I've looked at the statistics recently. The thing is my neighbour is very headstrong shall we say and just thinks bigger is better, I think if he says that his TV is better in the future I'll come back to this information, but a quick retort would be mine is a QLED panel and his is just LED. That would shut him up!

      1. you have a QLED, his is an average LED
      2. your TV has 120Hz, his has 60Hz (or your has 100 and his has 50, depending in which part of the world you are in and how the manufacturer marks his stuff there)
      3. your TV has Dolby Vision, his Samsung, as all Samsung tvs, does not
      4. Tizen (on Samsung TVs) is prolly the worst OS from major brands, Google TV (what you have) is prolly the best
      5. your tv has better colors and better movement and is prolly brighter.
      6. "I measured brightness at a lowly 277 nits in Standard mode on a 5% HDR window (337 nits on a 10% window), with the Dynamic mode offering the best performance at 334 nits." - this is from an arctile online. your tv is about 20% brihgter also.

On paper the C735 has these extra specs: 144Hz VRR the C635 is 120

I haven't reviewed the C635 to compare the step up to the 735 but I can say I use the C735 a lot and think it's a good model for gaming and movies.

First it took me over an hour to set up which wasn't a good start. I find the Google control not very user friendly after 10 months and made for tech savvy people. I have never had so much trouble setting up a TV. I find the screen no good with reflection daylight and particularly at night with a back ground light reflects on the screen. Very disappointed.
