I Love Asheville, NC it is indeed the best place for LGBT + so many restaurants and shops and the mountains are amazing, especially in the fall. I highly recommend going to Asheville for a Weekend trip.
I have friends that left last month after being there for over 20 years. It's just gotten too big and busy for them. It is a great weekend trip. Not inexpensive to live there.

I was in Palm Springs last month for 10 days, my 6th trip. I disagree about it being dirty and dying. It is expensive though.
