The media is so full of shit. There is no terrorism issue in Egypt at all. Had you said shit traffic, pollution, chaos, then fine. But not terrorism. As for day to day living, the US is far more dangerous in terms of deranged stalkers, crazed gunmen etc. Each country has its bullshit. I don't personally recommend visiting Egypt without knowing where to go, just because some places are disgusting and others are beautiful. In touristic places, you will get harassed by scammers trying to sell you anything and they are really irritating. But that is a far cry from terrorism.

I got trapped in China once. I went there for a week, but when I exited China, the gate trapped me. I was so scared, thinking this must be the CNN and Foxnews warning about China not letting me leaving. Then I just realized, it's me getting too fat for eating all street foods. Even the immigration staff looked at my photo and my face, telling me I must have consumed too much food.
