Silent hiking the Malerweg - hidden gem in Germany

For our first big hike of the year, Catherine and I decided to walk the Malerweg in Germany in the last days of April. Chilly nights, stunning vistas, gorgeous cliffs and rock formations, hundreds of ladders and staircases, and magical woods. Enjoy!

I did the Malerweg in the beginning of the year and even if there were no green leaves at all, it was an amazing experience. Another fantastic video about your adventure Lennart! Simply beautiful.

I did this trail in 2019 and it was really great. We didn't camp and we took our dog, quite a challenge at times with all the ladders!
We also did it in 6 days. That was doable!

Thanks. The north bank of the Elbe has more forest and rock formations. The south bank has more villages and fields, but also those fantastic tabletop hills.

Je weet dat het daar streng verboden is te wildkamperen? Ik ben aangesproken op een video waar ik met een drone vloog. Gedreigd met enorme boetes. Er zijn op de Malerweg talloze legale accomodaties.....

There are not so many campsites along the Malerweg itself. I’m planning to go there in 3 weeks, and cannot find enough of them on my way. Maybe you can share a link or smth please?
