- Another entertainment section in our POPKORN channel we would like to introduce you to is "👀REACTION👀" where Koreans react to various K-pop related videos and freely talk about what they think about the subject.
On our first episode, Koreans try to sort out non-Korean members from K-pop idol groups. After watching several video clips of one of the 🔥HOTTEST🔥 K-pop girl band #aespa , they will have to guess which members are foreigners just by their looks and accent.
Do you think Koreans will easily be able to tell the difference?
Check out the video if you're curious!! 👆
#aespa #에스파 #savage #reaction #Winter #Ningning #Karina #Giselle
guess the foreigners in NCT!! they have a lot of foreigners 😆
The video would be an hour long 😂
that will be really hard!!!
Ksksk. There literally 13 Koreans and 9 foreigners
@@rosie5816 nope, it’s 10 koreans and 13 foreigners
@@DAISY-nq2jk I was 1 number off😭
Hi I'm Jaeyoon from video. It's really honor to make an appearance on POPKORN RUclips!!
Thanks for giving a lot of interests and please expect another episode!!
.
이쁜 영상 감사합니다!!
Hello!
you are really a kpop expert haha pls appear here more times! it was fun to watch ^^
You're so sweet! Subscribing to you ❤
They’d have trouble guessing NCT Dream’s Chinese member haha. When a chinese member is more korean than a korean member lmao
Renjun will give identity crisis 😂😂😂
Renjun 🤣🤣
I remember Renjun ethnicity is Korean. He is a part of a Korean group, who live in China. He told that he talks to his grandma in Korean and went to Korean school in China
I belive he would be a hard one for them 😅
Ningning looks like a Chinese doll Giselle is a Japanese goddess and karina and winter are Korean angels thanks to those country who gave us this members
Giselle is actually half Korean, half Japanese and holds dual citizenship.
@@sinnopal1 actually, korea does not allow dual citizenship. so, she most likely renounced citizenship of japan in order to work and live in korea full time
@@chelsea8357 SK does not recognize dual citizenship but the SK government cannot do anything about it in reality, if you are female. I have both SK and USA citizenship. I have two passports. For male, one must choose because of mandatory military service.
@@chelsea8357 I'm pretty sure Japan doesn't allow dual citizenship past a certain age as well
@Tama V i never said she wasnt, i was talking about dual citizenship not her ethnicity/nationality
"They wouldn't make a non-Korean spit out this kind of rap verse"
Meanwhile, Giselle. Hahahaha
Lisa hello? Lol.
@@magicmarvel lisa isn't all that tho in terms of rapping (im a blink)
Both Giselle and Lisa are great in their own right
@@zimzalabimdenickimenajzala2003 yea
Their accents are what makes them unique, and adds a hint of spice to the song 🙄
giselle being half japanese and half korean made this whole thing harder for them, because they thought that there would only be a "full" foreigner
I’m only a Korean American and I could instantly tell Ning Ning was Chinese and me and my brother had a hard time differentiating if Giselle was Korean or Japanese, but she’s both. I can believe he said winter looked Japanese, she looks so stereotypically Korean celebrity type it’s ridiculous
exactly, Winter looks like typical SM visual like Taeyeon
@@purpleteardropss nooo Winter looks like the kawai girls
true, I'm not korean but when I saw aespa I knew winter was korean just by her pictures lmao
@@purpleteardropss OK...? That has nothing to do with being foreign
You should do Everglow at first alot of people thought most of them were foreigners but it's not the case, you should definitely do them
Only yiren right?
@@jisancy5423 yes
Yeah. Aisha, Mia, and EU, and Onda look more non-korean than korean.
@@royery especially Aisha. she looks half white half Korean
Jasslyn kaur wdym 🤣👎
Its only episode 1 and i already love this series.
If it were based strictly on looks, then they could not tell as it's like trying to identify who's the French, German or Brit. They had to pick up hints from their cultural cues and accents.
And I'm sure if they told them aespa is anall korean group, they will believe it, they really listened very closely to find out
French, german or brits are all influenced by Germanic blood. But Latins such as spainiards or Italians are somewhat different from germanic group. Also, slavs are different too.
@@sinnopal1 Yes, you are proving my point. Northern Chinese, Koreans and Japanese are from the same root.
@@milfhunter8887 yes. Those three ethnicities are indiscernable. Just like Englishman, Dutch or Germans cannot be differentiated base on looks. Southern Chinese are mostly identifiable from Koreans or Japanese. But, of course, there are many exceptions. Karina, Winter and Giselle do look like Korean. Ningning is a borderline case. She does have some Southerner's traits.
I think you can tell from looks usually. I think Japanese people are really easy to distinguish from others.
This was so fascinating to watch as a Chinese-American who has consumed lots of K-culture! It shows how differently native Koreans perceive and consume k-pop than do westerners cause I probably wouldn't have picked up on cultural oddities and I definitely can't pick out pronunciation differentials.
Can’t wait for the next part, pleaseeeee post soon, I’m anxious :)
Giselles dad is Japanese and mom Is Korean. Born in Seoul Korea. Moved to japan
"they wouldn't make a non-korean spit out this rap verse" my man I got something to tell you about majority of kpop rappers
Ningning is super cute and beautiful tbh
giselle is korean-japanese (dad & mom), but her citizenship is japanese since she was born and raised in japan.
omg i love this series, please do more. it is very interestingg
Lol this was like watching a sweet version of an Among Us meeting. Who is the impostor?
Giselle is half Korean, born in Korea and her native language is Korean. No wonder why they couldn't guess her at first.
japanese or english is her first language
@@sleepysiopao9987 No, Korean is her first language. She said that her mum and her used Korean at home. Then at school she was learning English, and learned Japanese by just living there. Her Japanese is fluent, but not native.
@@AB-yk2pq In order of proficiency, 1 English, 2 Korean, 3 Japanese
@@dojhk93 Literally no, How can her Japanese be at 3rd when she was raised in Japan ?
@@AB-yk2pq Her first langauge is Japanese and her second language is English. Just because you speak korean with your mother doesn't mean anything because she is literally speaking Japanese with everyone else around her and english at school. Also, Giselle is also not 100% proficient in Korean too. Are you even aespa fan ? Its just basic knowledge in the fandom.
they react on Aespaa member... So cute
As Chinese, I can easily tell whether they are chinese or even chinese born western world. In most cases, I can easily tell whether they are korean or japanese. but there are a minority group in china who speaks korean as their mother tongue too and similar tradition and even look similar.. 중국조선족 chinese korean... that is a big challenge..
Giselle is very much half and half it's almost unbelievable. I know Chanmina is a well known J-rapper that's like Giselle but I think Chanmina's Japanese is more pronounced than Giselle's. Though Giselle has enough of a look and accent to give it away
i love the in depth analysis
They were on point with the Chinese beauty standards having more of a rounded "lucky" face, speaking as a Chinese American who has enjoyed Korean pop culture for the last twenty years. I really enjoyed this video, it was informative and neat watching the average Korean pinpoint the accents and staccato that the foreign members had.
that guy who listens to nct and exo has good taste💅
Just one look I can point out that Ningning is Chinese. She has that "Chinese's features". But Giselle is more challenging since she looks 100% Korean to me.
She's half. Her mom is korean and dad is hapanese
She's half. Her mom is korean and dad is hapanese
4:17 MY GOD HAHAHAHA
I love this kind of video! Can’t wait to see more!
You should do (G)I-DLE next! People often mistake 2 of the foreigners for Koreans
Haha this is fun I want more of these! Probably without the kpop fan guy though, he already knows!
The girls guessed both from the Aespa music video straight away 😂
They should Dreamcatcher next time. It will be interesting to see if they can figure out the 1 foreign member.
They need to do that with nct it's gonna be so funny
THE NEXT VIDEO THEY ARE GOING TO REACT IS FROM SECRET NUMBER. I'M SO EXCITED!!!
these kinds of videos are so interesting to me, because im an adopted korean and everyone always thinks im chinese or japanese. but obviously i cant prove it because i dont speak korean well. i gotta pull out my birth certificate or passport just to get them to believe me lol
maybe next can guess the foreign member of (g)i-dle ? because they are very confusing to guess at first time watching🙌🙌
This is when asians can tell other asians apart, but non asians wouldnt have a clue
Loved this! Such a fun idea
Jake is Korean. In that case, he and Jay are both somewhat 'foreigners' but I wouldn't count it just because they spent part of their youth in the US and Aus.
@@rewghob Hence why I put him in brackets, not a priority to include him in it. I initially just put Ni-ki but after watching their video about Secret Number, they included Jinny who is Korean but grew up in the US so I added him in case they were to do it like that again. Yeah, Jay would count too. I only put Jake since he just came to Korea recently compared to Jay who came when he was around 10 but I guess Jinny has also been in Korea for a long time so both would work.
can't wait to see the reaction about the secret number😃
I think Secret Number will be easy since Dita have strong southeast Asian features
@@Dimyixx yeah maybe
Aespa❤❤
You can easily tell Ningning is chinese and also that Giselle is part japanese
02:53 its different with aespa Mork LEe😂
Mark is korean though tf
Giselle is half korean. Her father is said to be japanese, but he may be a Jainichi, ethnic Korean living in Japan. These are millions of Jainichi.
Her father is ethnic japanese, not a zainichi.
I saw her childhood pictures in Japanese traditional clothes. Her father is Japanese. Uchinaga is Japanese surname
@@chaeroii ain't mean anything. Millions of koreans naturalized and japanized their names.
you should try this from G-idle
I'm korean and none of my friend guessed it correct lol
99% people think minnie is korean
DO WAYV!! it's a chinese group but make them believe that only a few of them are foreigners and have them guess for fun 😭😭
Wayv has pretty heavy accents , they'll know easily after they listen to them, Aespa is harder because their accent is pretty mild while singing, they'll need to concentrate to hear it, Giselle don't really even have a accent based on koreans
The moment he said nct I literally screamed
I hope you do one like this for NCT too since they are so many and half of them are foreigners too
Guess the foreigner in dreamcatcher! I feel like that would be difficult until you heard her name
that's an interesting content!
They're right about the "lucky face" beauty standard in China! Chinese people used to love women with rounder faces and fuller bodies, because it looks like they're eating well and healthy. But recently China's become more obsessed with looking thin and having a small face. It's a shame honestly. I love Ningning's cute oval face.
more aespa reactions plz
it will be interesting to see them do g-idle!
they should guess the foreigners from ENHYPEN. there are three, but two of them are still korean by blood.
I would like to see ENHYPEN and I.O.I. I know I.O.I already disbanded, but according to Koreans the Chinese member of I.O.I (Kyulkyung) is really fluent in Korean, which is logical because she went to a Korean high school. She also dreams and thinks in Korean. I wonder if Koreans could notice her accent (if she has one). I think Yoon Je-Yoon can tell Kyulkyung is Chinese due her face, though.
Giselle is as much Korean as she is Japanese. Giselle is half Korean born in South Korea. It seems her Korean is more fluent than her Japanese. She now works and lives in SK. To many, she is Korean.
Can you do treasure for the next episode? Treasure please they have 4 foreign member and they're a 12 member group under YG Ent.
Ok now we need this but with Nct lol
Giselle does looks very Korean. Her Korean features are mor prominent.
omg please do treasure, i think some of them are obvious but some are harder! (treasure is 4/12 japanese)
Please do this with TREASURE. It will be very interesting
try this with (g)i-dle! half of them are foreigners!
AHHH SN NEXT EP
Plz do. (G)I-DLE next people mostly confuse their foreign members haha
This would be good game with (G)I-dle and Kep1er
More and more foreigners are debuting as rappers nowadays, so the boys’ logic in that case isn’t necessarily true.
2:51 it's different for Yangyang and Giselle
Could you guess the foreigners in ENHYPEN please!!🥺🙏🏻
DO THE BOYZ NEXT PLSSSSSSS
you should do this with kep1er, esp after they debut :)
I’m curious about the foreign members in seventeen 🤔 I think Joshua would be kind of difficult
SECRET NUMBER also has different countries, Indonesia, Japan, US
The girl from US is ethnic Korean. For many koreans, 'ethnic koreans' are koreans, no matter what their citizenships are.
❤❤❤
love the twice references
enhypen next!
Pls do nct
When is part 2??
next is guess the foreigners in NCT (not just who is but from where since 13/23 are not from korea)
Let’s them react to nct dream , please (hello future )
can you do treasure next plss
i like that they take Sana and Momo as reference
ningning: kOsUmOOO 😌🔫
2:51 you are damn wrong dude, ever heard of lalisa manoban ??😂
6:00 using 어 to respond to someone is extremely normal for mandarin speakers too, and it doesn't even meant to be rude, so for mandarin speakers, it's hard to adjust as well😂
7:03 好吃好吃 (hao chi hao chi) in korean 맛있어 맛있어,Out of a sudden what in the world? 😂
yow same with me like old song, b2st is the best
2:56 YUKI FROM PURPLE KISS??
You should do a video on NCT! A longer video would be nice
1:36 here there's two not one
NCT next please!!!
Can you do this with nct next ??? 😍💚
Why can't non-Koreans get fast rap parts? I don't understand that sentiment or thought.
I think cuz itd be harder to rap fast in a language you arent fluent in
pretty sure theyre trying to say that itd b harder since korean isnt their primary language n it will most-likley b easy to distinguish a distinct tone/accent from them that koreans do not usually have
Please check out and react to this global pop group Now United. They are people who come from different countries singing and dancing and they have lots of music videos and dance videos and tic toc videos and shows. Please react to Now United (Wave your flag)(Future me)(Fiesta)(Nu Party)(Lean on me)(Dance like that)(Parana) They have a Korean girl in this global pop group Now United
Aespa queems
#BLACKSWAN tem a #Leia do Brasil #Fatou. da Bélgica
Thats a proof that sm was great. How could u make non korean pronounce korean well in songs.
Don't all Koreans know who aespa is by now? I mean in their age range. I think it's rather the opposite way that it's getting difficult to find people around the same age who don't know them or where they are from.
tbh, most Korean don’t care much about idols. Like they might know the group’s name but don’t know anything about the members. BTS is the most popular group atm still a lot of Korean people don’t know what each members are called.
@@findingbrain6509 bruh, Korean literally know who they are, but i agree with your point (most korean didnt know about the members)
I also think that Koreans in their later 20s probably don't listen that much to Aespa (or many of the newer Kpop groups). They might recognize the name Aespa and maybe have heard a song or 2 but don't know any member.
@@jisancy5423 isnt that what they said
Ikr I just saw on a different channel where they guested kids from Korea and they knew aespa but they don't know the older groups. They see aespa alot on commercials and products as well as their hit songs played on the radio everywhere in Korea.
Next NCT pleaseeee
NCT dream next
It would be really funny if it's NCT 😂
Wasn‘t giselle also born in Korea but obviously grew up in Japan?
do (G)i-dle!
