- Abandoned Long John Silver's - Kittanning, Pa. Rumor is that this place will be torn down for another restuarant (Taco Bell) to be built here. Not sure if that is true or not. Until then, this place continues to rot away just sitting here.

I really enjoy your segments, been watching you for several years now Wallie . ✌️
There was a Rex restaurant and Ponderosa steakhouse in that plaza.
The Ponderosa was turned into a Rachel's steak house.
There used to be combo Taco Bell/LJS not far from me that lasted for a while. Then it was torn dorn and rebuilt as a Taco Bell only. It's sad to see that LJS is dying a slow death as you can't find many locations around anymore.
I used to go here as a kid. My mother was from Templeton. Love your vids!
It was an old Ames when I was a kid (the big lots)
I remember that lol it's so funny seeing things from where I live on RUclips.
I miss my Long John silvers great chicken and hushpuppies.
Anyone else think today has gone by fast? Great vid by the way.
You are just our lovable goofball!
We have a Long John's here in Matteson Illinois. Along with A and W. The food is okay. It doesn't look like the old school ones. Those around here closed years ago. Nice video and thanks.
I used to live in Matteson. There used to be a big Kmart where the sports authority used to be. And before that, it was a venture
Tons of abandoned long johns anymore it's pretty sad actually... Thanks and nice explore!
The building is already torn down, they are building a Taco Bell in it's place. Currently the Taco Bell and KFC are in the same store at the next mall down. That building will be a KFC only once Taco Bell moves into their own building.
Long John's is starting to empty out of the Chicago area. Seem to be getting rare. We need to keep the Eddie bashing going. I bashed him good on the Kmart video I uploaded last night. Thank you for showing this.
Hi Wallie know how you feel about a weekday off. Feel the same way. Long John Silvers is also becoming a thing of the past too. As always great video!
The Long John Silvers' stores do have murals on the walls. It's sad to see that this store is in such disrepair
_Always a fun time watching your videos. We miss our goofaşş! 🤣 I'm still backlogged from August. Everytime I try to get caught up, something else comes up that I edit and post first._
Just ate at LJS a couple of days a go we have one near me. I agree LJS isn’t the best tasting but it’s ok.The hush puppies while hot to me are pretty darn good. Can’t beat the pricing I fed my whole family (4 of us) for 32 bucks.LJS are a dime a dozen now and I’ve seen some abandoned ones in the past years.Enjoyed the video and a great find 👍
For fast food seafood, I find it pretty appetizing. There aren't many other fast food joints that specialize only in seafood. Loved LJS quite a bit as a kid and I still love it today, but I haven't eaten there in 5 years because there aren't any near me at all.
The one in Butler,Pennsylvania near Moraine Plaza RTE 356 is Still open with A&W intact too. 🇺🇸😎
Hi Wallie, enjoyed the video! Looks like that place has been closed for a while! I really like long John silvers food! Sad to know that many of them are gone! Take care! 😃
It closed Easter last year so mid April.
The big lots and tractor supply was a ames until thier bankruptcy it sat vacant for 5 years I was amazed that something moved in after it was abandoned for so long. The shop n save was an old Kroger. Once Kroger closed shop n save moved in in under a year in part of it then dollar general took the other part of it a couple years later. The shopping center was hurting for a while but has seemed to gain new life. The long John silvers you filmed was torn down and a taco bell is moving in.
Big lots used to be Ames, never a James way or a k mart. Long johns/A&W is now torn down
Christine Nulph Wait the Long Johns in this video you saying has been torn down or you referring to a different Long Johns location
Yes it’s gone
Christine Nulph When did they tear it down
They just tore it down within the last month. They are building a stupid taco bell
I'll take one fish n more meal please. Damn it another closed restaurant. I'm off Sunday/Monday which works out great. That Shop n Save was most definitely a former greenhouse Kroger.
Awesome video buddy
Great video cant wait for the next
Was first an old Murphys Mart, then Ames. Was always a Shop N Save.
Thanks wallie
Used to be an Ames long long time ago home town again never disapoint specially now cause long Johns is long gone it's crazy good video man
I used to work at that Shop N Save, it was a Kroger back in the late 80s early 90s can't remember exact year
Now I have a craving for Long John Silvers...lol.
LJS is criminally underrated. Sad to see they are slowly dying, they have great food.
@@christiangonzales7429 luckily we have 3 left here in Lubbock, Texas. I need to keep in mind since I don't always think of this place. I like their food especially hush puppies.
@@doug9066 I live near Houston, and there are a few left but sadly not by me. The one closest to me was a combo Taco Bell/LJS and was torn down a few years and rebuilt as Taco Bell only (like we don't have enough Taco Bells already). I love the hush puppies, fried fish and those crunchy pieces of batter they put the fish on. Haven't eaten there in 5 yrs and I miss it.
@@christiangonzales7429 true those big cities like where you live do have too many Taco Bell restaurants. I'm surprised Long John Silvers & Taco Bell be in same building when Taco Bell, Pizza Hut & Kentucky Fried Chicken are all owned by PepsiCo.
@@doug9066 Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and KFC were owned by PepsiCo until 1997, who spun them off as the company today known as Yum Brands. Yum acquired LJS and A&W a few years later in 2002 only to sell them off in 2011 due to declining sales. Sadly, LJS is still struggling even under the new owners.
🤔I've never been to a LJS that didn't look like it was on the brink of closing down... you sure they're closed lol jk
I live in kittanning and its a dump hole. I wish I had something better to say about this town but it's unfortunate that zero money gets put into this town and the people here have to travel to diffrent areas to shop because all we have is a Wal-Mart and a few grocery stores. I hope they don't close down sears seeing how it's one of the only sears still open. This town just needs the time and money put into it and it will be a great place
It was also an A&W.
That was an Ames where Big Lots and TSC is now.
This LJS isn't serving fish and hush puppies. They're serving high weeds, spider webs and dead bees. LOL!!😂😂😂
Yeah those are the little sheds that some companies keep their equipment. I work for McDonald’s and our company stores everyone that we own has a shed in the parking lot or behind the store. We keep our appointment in those sheds broken equipment or equipment I have to go back and be replaced back to you I don’t know where but back to somewhere to get replaced
I used to work at this store i was there till right before it closed
Nice video! Very run down building!
Kool it looks just like my long John silvers it except my is open still I love this place to eat I like it better then Captain d’s excited find i really enjoy this I thx u so much
I was gonna ask are u getting food, or my favorite hushpuppies? I guess not! 🤣
Holdco did buy back the hometown. They were a spinoff of Sears holding. Eddie ELS already own 60 percent but he did buy the rest of the stock.
Long John's more like long gone
It closed Easter last year.
Food is alot better than mcdonalds ..
The bottom part of the building reminds me of the feed stores you buy live stock food.
Awesome video. Keep up the great work
Hush puppies...yucky. The LJS here closed back in late summer.
There used to be a LJS near me it closed back around 2011 or 12 torn down and was turned into a aspen dental
7:40 I feel you. Exploration is just a natural human emotion.
Head out 66 n spaces corners there’s an old elementary school you should check it out.
The big lots and tractor supply used to be Ames and if he went over to see the closed trader horn that used to be Jamesway.
I Myself Love Long Johns there are way too Many Burger joints.
It's been torn down. Currently has contractors on the property building a new Taco Bell...
It's a shame that the franchisee doesn't care about the employees of Long Johns.
This was a franchise of a couple of the corporate people for a few years by the time it closed. It was trash before and trash after. It didn't look much different in this video than when it was open. Just toss some appliances and seats and tables in there and there you go. 🙄
9:59 Nice looking Dodge Demon or Plymouth Duster driving by.
This longjohns is actually torn down now they started to build something else in the spot not sure what yet but it's no longer there
They are splitting the Taco Bell and KFC apart.
Thanks!
Thank you very much!
Fascinating
I miss long John slivers there food was good in my childhood had not eaten it since I was 13 ish I’m now 25
Long John Silvers is decent for me. I love there hush puppies and fries.
Hey Wallie, just got news that our local KMart in Lebanon, PA is closing next February.
look like it been closed for a while
This was 7 months ago. It closed Easter last year. Super long time it had been closed 😂
There was also an A&W there.
A&W is extremely hard to find. I haven't seen one in many years.
I love your videos are awesome
I live in this location and I can tell you that this place Closed permanently around April 2019. It closed up temporarily I think around March of 2018 for renovations then it opened it back up again then in February 2019 when I went it was still open but the drive through was closed then later on it closed up shop permanently. We used to have an Ames (Now Big Lots). Yes this location is now a Taco Bell. I can confirm that. The downfall of Long Johns is that they never changed their menu or added anything new. Yes they had A&W but people stopped eating grease at some point. Thanks for showing this off.
It didn't shut down for renovations LMAO.
@@hennyroos5996 Your not from the area so you don't know anything.
Where am I from? What does being "from the area" help if you have no idea what was going on in the store. What renovations do you think this store had in 2018? Did you LOOK at it? Tables were holding the WALL PIECES in place for years. See the pieces in the floor? That's how they were standing up. Tables shoved there to hold them up. Do you know what month or even year it was set to shut down permanently last time and was saved with a few days to go? Or who saved it? I'm guessing not.
@@hennyroos5996 I read an article about it when it closed down for the final time and it talked about the history of the place. I don't know exactly when it shut down for the final time but I was there In February of 2019 and the drive thru was closed down and then I would imagine sometime after that is when it shut down forever.
The articles were...not written by people that had a clue either. There were no renovations in 2018. You apparently didn't go there enough to notice almost the entire staff was new when they opened back up in 2018 lol. The drive thru finally bit it and they quit trying to fix it by the time you went through that last time. The store closed permanently the day before Easter 2019.
Lol.. Totally agree long John's silver's food is awful.. Stay safe and stay awesome. Wallie B
I love ljs because there hush puppies are really darn good better than homemade hush puppies
I live a mile down the road from here. This just closed not that long ago believe it or not. It’s already torn down and being prepared for a Taco Bell. Our kfc/Taco Bell is splitting. The big lots/tractor supply was an Ames and Jamesway.
The one that was closest to me was a combo Taco Bell/LJS that was demolished to be rebuilt as Taco Bell only. Like we don't have enough Taco Bells already; LJS is hard to find and sadly they are not reopening anymore locations and instead closing more locations down as the years go by.
Shop n' Save has been there at a minimum 22 years. Not sure if it was something before that. Fairly sure it was K-mart.
It was Kroger, an 80's Kroger with that greenhouse, but definitely a Kroger.
Wallie, did you know there also was a A&W here?
There’s 5 left in pa right now Rochester, Carnegie, Washington and I can’t remember the other 2
One is in butler
Was AW also
Long gone silvers lol awesome video
Your videos are funny
I live near it, my mom was a manager here. It’s a taco bell now
Don’t know why but I heard there was employee walk out. They had an emergency hire but lasted about a month and closed down
This was an A&W/LJS.... it's actually torn down and the new Taco Bell that is being constructed will be finished in a couple months
I agree that Long Johns food wasn't that good.Their aren't many open locations anymore.
Looks like a old non supercenter Wal Mart in my opinion
The big lots was an Ames. The long John silvers was also an A & W. While the shop and save may have been built as another store, I know it was a shop and save in 2002. The Sears at that time was a catalog pickup style store that sold some appliances. Good video.
Long John's is Long Gone!!
Almost gone.
Was that the Starsky and Hutch car that went by ?
Well here I am again with my jokes I can say that McDonald’s is doing some fishy business
LOL
It was an Aimes
It was a LJS slash AW wallie
i bet if you could catch the demo crew when ever they tear it down they would probably let you have about anything ..but that would be hard to know when they would be tearing it down
Pick a better beer says he who drives a cavalier lol
I love long johns silver husse bunnys but there none in the Medford grabts pass Oregon area
Ummn...hush puppies? Da heck is a husse bunny?
Its just fried cornbread. Cornmeal flour baking powder salt/seasoning and some egg wash. Fry at medium low to medium heat. You can doooit.😉
The Shop n' Save nearby looks like a former vintage Kroger store.
More like 80's Kroger, there are 70's Kroger's with the arches that are more vintage.
That place is stripped
Leveled
Big lots and tractor supply store use to be a old ames store
Lol I live here 😁 that building is gone now and they are building the new building now.
That store closed last Saturday. It was close and they reopened but didnt have enough staff to stay in business. It reopened on March 21 2018.
May this location RIP. Sad to see another one close down.
Lol. They used to run with 6 people. Not having staff wasnt the problem long term. And it closed the Saturday before Easter last year.
Cool 😀
it was an ames lived near kittanning all my life. that plaza is slowly dying
A lot of Kmart did become Sears after the merger.
Walmart has been killing Kmart since 2003, when they filed bankruptcy. This is when they completely pulled out of Houston and also a year before the merger with Sears, who isn't doing anything to save the chain from an overall collapse.
Holy crap, I was at the Shop n Save in that plaza just like an hour ago.. LMAO.
what year is your cavalier wallie?
1999 he said before.
@@jackson5116 I didn't know.
Shafted on hush puppies again? Wtf!
Are you from around here?
Im about 10 minutes out of downtown Pittsburgh.
I believe that it was a old Kmart building. I have one in my home town in Athens Tn, that look like that where kmart and Kroger used to before moving to a new shopping plaza to have the cafe.
Watching the Patriots and Ravens play tonight disproves the theory that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend." No, they are both my enemy and I hope they rot in hell!!
