I'll browse your channel and see if I can find a "watered down" version of some tips. Again, this video was amazing, just above my head a bit. lol
@@joenicklo I have a decent amount of gear from shooting real estate photography, but on the weekends I like to go to car shows and capture photos/videos while there (some examples on my channel). Since I do quite a bit of moving around I try to carry as few items as possible. Usually my a7iii, a lens or two, and my Air2s. If you have any tips for a "run and gun" style video that would be awesome. The cars are usually parked fairly close and I'm consistently working around other spectators.
Hi, I'm using a Canon 6D and a Nikon lens and I can't film an incoming vehicle in motion with the headlights on at night - the headlights turn into gigantic orbs which completely block any visual of the vehicle. It just ends up looking like "close encounters of the third kind". Do you have any tips?

First of all, thank you for the video. Secondly, I'm planning on buying a Canon 250D but I'm exhausted by doing research for car broll lens. I want something like Sigma 35mm f1.4 ART but its very expensive (for me). I need something which I can use on an APS-C sensor camera without a mount, and need something like F1.8 and 18 to 35 kinda focals. Please advise me.
What is better for those who doesnt have gimbals? Shooting in 60p and slowing down or shooting in 30p? Less frames makes the recording more stable, right?
It all depends on what you’re after with your shot. Let’s say you’re doing some handheld shots of the engine bay, or interior...you can do your camera move somewhat quickly so you have a stable movement (slower you move, more you’ll see shake), then you slow it down in editing. If it’s a race, where I know for sure I’m not going to do ANY slow motion, I’ll shoot 24p/30p. Hope this helps! If you have any other questions feel free to join the discord channel :)
I wish I could tell you the song name :( I'm sorry...I actually lost this project file due to a Resolve Database issue. I can tell you that it's from Soundstripe though.
I don't have many tips on filming car detailing other than to keep the camera dry! ;) Carry some sort of rain bag for the camera. Your goal when filming detailing is to show the results of the detailer's work so making sure you're getting nice shots of the paint's reflection is key. Before & After as well.
Jatu Prawatya what camera are you shooting on? I like to film with zooms, in particular the sigma 18-35 and 50-100 lenses. They give me tons of coverage. As far as movement goes, I’d adhere to the same tips I mention in this video...mix it up. Handheld, tripod, gimbal.

Depending on the lights, you can adjust your shutter speed. Experiment until you either lose the flicker, or minimize it. You can also use DeFlicker in Davinci Resolve. Some lights are unavoidable.
Are you using the 35mm for the tracking shots shooting out of the car? How are you setting the focus and are you using a gimbal for those if so? Thanks
18-35, usually set between 24 and 35mm. 18mm is way too wide. I usually shoot around f/4 to f/6 depending on the light, but I always have a FIZ of some sort on the lens, whether its the Tilta Nucleus Nano or the Nucleus M.

First off appreciate the content of this video. I'm new to this and this was very helpful. I purchased a Panasonic GH5 and it cam with a 18 to 35 mm lens. For auto filming. What other lenes would you suggest? Thanks in advance.
I love shooting on the 18-35! It's my go-to. I'd pick up something to compliment it. You can go two routes. Sigma 50mm Prime + another focal length like an 85mm, OR you can get the Sigma 50-100mm. If you do a lot of focus changes when shooting, the 50-100mm has heavy focus breathing however, you'll cover a lot with it.
@@joenicklo thank you, I want to start shooting to build up my skills. But most tutorials almost always assume that one is working with a wide selection of lenses. Thank you for your prompt reply and for your most informative video! You got a new subbie 👍😃

Question bro, would you recommend shooting all footage in one frame rate or can I choose from different options. For one final video.
You can definitely mix your frame rates depending on the purpose of the shot. If you know you're going to do a slow motion shot, you can shoot at 60fps or higher. Set up your timeline in 24p and when you bring in the high frame rate (HFR) footage, you can either interpolate the HFR footage to 24p OR you can just import it as is and drag to the timeline and change the clip speed to a lower percentage.
