Thanks for watching! This video was filmed before the Santa Fe was bought back by Hyundai... but are you curious as to what vehicle is going to replace the Santa Fe as our next long-term test vehicle? Well you don't have to wait much longer! Find out TOMORROW at 4pm! 😁
I have the can of plastidip here ready waiting for a decent weather day so I can do this to my Palisade SEL Premium, which has glossy black emblem on the front but chrome on the back. Been using plastidip for years. It’s cheap and it lasts at least 3 years if well applied.
I wish this video was out a few weeks ago. I blacked out my emblems but unfortunately I damaged one of the taillights. Thank goodness for taillight tint!
It’s so strange to see dealerships plastic their name in the corner. That crap ended in California like 40 years ago! I would either have the dealership take that off prior to my final signature, or charge them a monthly advertising fee! True story: About 15 years ago a Texas dealership bought a Lexus dealership out here in Orange County, CA. They put their logo on the back of the vehicles sold here. Well that ended very quickly because Lexus buyers out here would not go for that at all! They GM of the dealership told me buyers demanded that taken off.
We wanted to test the longevity out ourselves but we no longer have the Santa Fe so that's not going to happen... but we have heard it holds up very nicely over time and is quite durable
Nope, the Santa Fe is long gone. This was the only thing we got to do to it while it wasn't at the dealership and we didn't get a chance to post it before the other videos
When I see stuff like this, all I see is "Let's help a $90k vehicle depreciate five times faster!". Perhaps folks should ask someone in the car resale industry how it impacts the value before applying any cosmetic changes. Just saying. I hear it all the time at my local Nissan dealership (I've known the service manager for decades); just shakes his head when someone tricks out a new car and expects it to retain resale value.

I love plastidip. Done emblems, wheels, and whole cars. This stuff is awesome.

Great idea. How long and how does it hold up to car washes and everyday weather conditions?
Thanks! We wanted to test the longevity out but we no longer have the Santa Fe. We have heard it holds up very nicely over time and is quite durable
@carconfections - what's your take on the Hybrid vatiant of the santa fe?
Great review Drew and Mason
Thank you!
I plastic dipped my kia sportage but used newspaper instead of cardboard. Looks great
Do you recommend purchasing it or it still have the same issue?
I am glad Hyundai bought it back. That thing is so ugly it makes the Cyber truck look good
What do you think about a badge delete, gives your vehicle a clean new look
removing the badging is way better but it helps to have somebody do it for you
Never tried it but I'm sure it looks cool on some models!
Cool video guys! I have always wanted a clear explanation on this! Thank you 🙏
Thanks, glad it was helpful!
great video, thanks
Im not seeing a link to the products in the description am i missing something?
Sorry that was supposed to be updated and apparently wasn't! I will update myself today at 9
How long will this stay on if it comes off so easily? What about in heavy rain or snow?

@@CarConfections Ah that’s right! I forgot about that. It did look nice though!
How long before remove the tape/paper and peel? I thought u mentioned it but I can’t find.thx
A half hour after the last coat is a safe bet
Hi. How many cans of Plasti Dip did you use for blackout all the emblems?
Just one!
You guys bought santa fe again ?
I’m guessing this was done well before they gave it back, it looks cooler and it’s summer now. 😂
That’s the same question I was about to ask.
Also wondered that
I thinking it was not only the first modification on the Santa Fe, but the only one before it was bought back.
Nope, the Santa Fe is long gone. This was the only thing we got to do to it while it wasn't at the dealership and we didn't get a chance to post it before the other videos
That was really cool how you did that!! The Santa Fe looks really cool with that! Also, did you mention what your replacement vehicle is?
Find out today at 4pm!
Was this the gloss or matte plasti dip spray?
This was the regular kind which has a matte finish
Love your car video
i thought u guys got rid of the hyundai? unless this was filmed before the hyundai buyback?
It was. We never got the chance to post it because we were making "other" content about it 😂
To my knowledge I knew that Hyundai bought you back your Santa Fe. Did you get a new one again?
Nope, we just bought a new Camry. Video came out yesterday afternoon actually
Perfection
is that an M340i?
It's a 330e
I thought you didn't have this vehicle anymore. I thought you returned it to Hyundai. I'm confused. Did I miss something?
We don't... This was just filmed a while ago. Find out today at 4pm what our new long-term vehicle is 👍
My XT5 black badges were $ 100.00. I could have driven to your place and have you do it 😂😂😂
😂😂
Will it come off in a commercial carwash?
While we didn't get to test it out for very long, it did survive the first and only full-contact car wash we took it through unscathed
I hope you guys bought another long-term vehicle to replace the Hyundai Santa Fe.

are you two lovers?
rip santa fe
Dealerships will charge $500 for that.
Debadge
Rather just buy the blacked-out badages
Man they milked this turd of and SUV for everything they could.
Bad part is, you guys couldn’t keep the car long enough to experience the full potential it had and do more to it 🫤.
