    Amanda, great lesson as always! But I have a question: How to (correctly) say "I did not see you."? I know that it's not 我唔見左你, because that means "I lost you". But then I was told that you say 我唔見到你. But according to the lesson, is the correct way 我見唔到你? Or is this an exception? Or both OK? Thanks again for the great lessons!

      in this case. 我見唔到你 is correct.
      Thank you for paying so much attention to my lesson. 😄

    Excellent information as usual. I asked about this and googled it when I first started but no one gave me this form.
    So if I am understanding, from learning mandarin first
    會 = 識
    能 = 到
    可以 = 可以
    Or… since this word in the negative, works different then 可以 and 識, is it more like the mandarin verb compliment 到?

    • @5minutecantonese
      @5minutecantonese  2 года назад

      for 到,it's more or less the same in Mandarin. for example, Can see in Cantonese 睇到, in Mandarin 看到,for negative expression, 睇唔到 in Cantonese, 看不到 in Mandarin.
      hope it helps😀

    How do you use 能?

    • @5minutecantonese
      @5minutecantonese  2 года назад +1

      We won't use it in spoken Cantonese. We use it in written Cantonese. It's similar to 可以. For example, Can I buy this? in written form, you can say, 我可不可以買這個? or 我能不能買這個?
      But when we speak. We won't use this. 😉
