- At the tour announcement for Kiss and Motley Crue, Artisan News was granted an exclusive sit-down interview with Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Nikki Sixx, and Vince Neil and they talked about what they remember about each other from 1982, their last tour, why this is the ultimate show for the fans, Motley learning the ropes from Kiss, and if Kiss's new songs will be in their set, and more!

@JASON VOORHEES No, when Nikki was working at a Liquor Store in L.A, Mick walked in and they talked as a worker and customer and Nikki said he liked Kiss and Mick hated Kiss and they got into an argument, month's later, Mick audition for Nikki by fate, which birthed Motley Crue.
Ironically, Mick Mars is the biggest Gene Simmons imitation.
Body language said it all right there, Nikki & Vince definitely wanted no part of that interview with the 2 controlling clowns.
Vince Neil almost laughs at Gene Simmons when he says that dumb line about "our bosses are standing on their chairs." The KISS guys take themselves a bit too seriously. I've been a fan of theirs for a long time tho.

Went to go see this tour live in Dallas in 2012 I was 12 and it was my first real concert wont ever forget it 🤘🏽
As a body language analyst.
I can see a scenario before the cameras rolled of Gene being Gene and trying to preach and talk down to Nikki & Vince pissing them off. This interview screams "Tension"
I was just about to write a comment about Nikki's face/fake smile and drinking of the water after Gene spoke down to him, lol. @1:50-@2:22 - Nikki had just said it's all about the fans and then Gene arrogantly asks him, "and who do we do this for?" Lol
And what's with Paul's crossed arms the entire time, lol? Defensive or trying to hide his not-so-toned midsection?
Yeah lots of tension here but it's easy to figure out. Gene and Paul are always horrified at the thought of someone talking in an interview besides them and of course Vince and Nikki easily pick up on this and so it gets very uncomfortable.
Motley perfected what Kiss started, and did some other great stuff as well.
That's the best way to put it.

They all immediately say NO, and say that early 70s Bands were what inspired them. Nikki says KISS wasn't street enough for them and Vince goes on to comment that KISS is only KISS on stage & Motley are the same guys no matter where.

Plus they used the same set from Creatures in the Lick it Up Tour. I was P'oed back then.

@Mooch 514 Back in the 70"s Kiss ruled the world. I know I was part of the Kiss Army...LOL... But in the 80's Motley Crue were the kings. Kiss even had to drop the makeup in order to move with the times and compete with bands like Motley Crue. .Don't be hating on the Crue man. Both bands are great bands. Motley Crue had their fair share of troubles but to call them idiots? Why so angry?
It's kind of ironic, that in 1980, Nikki Sixx, AND Mick Mars thought that KISS sucks, and then they did a gig with with KISS.. And that failed.. And now 30 years after, they are going on a tour again! :D

Thank you for posting this video. I always enjoy listening to them speak. Paul is right, the fans are so important whether it is watching a concert or sports event.
On another note, when he mentioned ripped jeans, I actually purchased ONE pair of jeans that were slightly cut to begin with, because that was the style.
However, the rest of the "CUTTING" puncturing, and burning of my clothing (Jeans, black workout pants, undergarments, socks, other items) were NOT purchased that way !!
I wish I'd seen this tour. I'm grateful to have seen Crue/Cooper the final tour.
Weird how both bands are compared when in fact they are in all ways different in background as well as stage antics, music style and overall attitute

I regret not going to see this tour when it came to my city. I was a huge Motley Crue at the time, but I was not a Kiss fan at all then. I became a huge Kiss fan three years ago. I have seen Kiss two times in the past . The first time was the original Farewell tour in 2000 with the original members and than I saw them a few years ago with Def Leppard. The only way I would go now is if they got at least Ace Frehley back , but with recent comments between Gene and Ace I don't see that ever happening. They have said bad things about each other in the past and made up and I hope that happens again. I really hope Kiss does not end their career with the lineup they currently have. It is not the real Kiss in my opinion.

Not really. They had a stand in for Ace backstage to play his parts for awhile. Peter had such an attitude he had to be dismissed from the band and Eric Carr came in for awhile as did others to cover his part. Now, the drummer and lead guitarist have to even wear their makeup designs!
