Barry's music was BREATHTAKING. The songs exuded such positivity, heartwarming, love, made me feel so good when they came out. Im 63 now, so i was there for all his hits. Not sure how else you can say it. His music is poetry in motion ❤
I think Michelle was stunning in the 60s even in 1998 when they went in the hall of fame she was beautiful. A natural beauty.

I too met Michelle - Spent a week with her on a cruise liner I used to work on about 9 years ago. She was onboard as a Guest Lecturer. What a LOVELY woman! So genuine and authentic. She also told me "Never sell your publishing rights."

MIchelle is aging naturally unlike many other actresses sporting the joker grin and wearing wigs shes letting nature take its course. Good for her. Still a HUGE talent and the nicest lady if you get to meet her (i have twice).

Ethan Alfaro Michelle Phillips was pretty, but she was never gorgeous. I was looking at pictures of her recently, and frankly I thought she was rather plain looking. You would be hard-pressed to say she was classically beautiful. Be that as it may she was very cute, and some would say “pretty”. Now her daughter, China Phillips is a knockout. High cheekbones, slim figure, she was/is a beauty.

When DENNY PASSED She flew into Halifax, N.S. , taxi'ed to the Hotel and attended His SERVICE the next day. No FAN FAIR, NO SHOW or HOOPLA. Just RESPECT. Flew out to California the next day. GREAT LADY.........!

I love that these beautiful girls, now a bit older, had to grow up in the middle of such drug laced surroundings, and not only did they survive, they found each other and made a living for themselves singing some wonderfu original songs but were able to sing some oldies for us also with and without a good sound system, having fun always. I love their energy and no one seems bothered between the women... they seem very tight with each other. God bless them and keep them thriving!

Coming from someone who loves AC/DC and slade I love the mamas and papas and California Dreaming is an all time classic , this did it no justice at all 🙄

@@snowlinewest1321 Well, coming from a former choir director I always advocated playing to strengths. She has a very good voice but is extremely high pitched and probably a bit of a showboat but a little attitude adjustment sometimes worked to get a singer in the range they needed to be esp in a 3 part harmony. I think her pitch overtakes her sometimes and she often tries to rise above the other two. As the high harmony she needs to be only 3 octaves above Wendy but she is often around 5 above. That's probably why she sounds agrivating to you. But when your at her level, I'm sure she could care less what we think about her. There's plenty of fans who love her plus her heritage does a lot for her. I had to deal with my share of diva's back in the day.

This was an outdoor concert in a small venue at a hotel. The sound system was not the best to say the least. They sounded much better in person.
I was reading all the negative reviews about the singing, but I quickly realized that the acoustics and the recording were bad. I've heard Wilson Phillips sing this song before and their cover is pretty good considering it's hard to do a good cover of The Mamas & The Papas' song.
Chyna can sing but not so sure about Carnie and Wendy!
They yell. They don't sing. Their voices are weak. Cass could sing that without a microphone.

I think he's voice is amazing and she did a good job considering what I said...nothing can beat the perfection of the original but it's a tribute to her parents so it should be judged on that also and this was sweet of them to get up there and do it!!

This song is more suited for Carnie to sing lead with Wendy & Chynna on backing vocals....Though I understand it was a small venue and Chynna's mama introduced the song so that is probably why they let her daughter sing lead.

Im a musician, songwriter, producer of hard rock music and the Mamas and papas never get old. their intricate vocal harmony's and passages have blown me away since I was a child. This particular version however im not to impressed with but I still admire the lovely lady's for their talent.

There are a multitude of people with extrodinary song writing and singing ability that will never get that big-time chance to have the backing of someone or a production company that can produce them for success. Just take a look around RUclips. There is incredible talent. I was recently reading the story about the band "No Doubt" and a person that helped get them "noticed", said to one of his influential friends that he needed to come see this group perform...the lead singer is really cute. I'm paraphrasing, but unfortunately, in entertainment as well as life in general, studies have shown that "good looks" can go a long ways into "helping" people succeed. There are lots of studies that validate in "most" cases, the beauty quality is biased in life. So yea, Michelle did ok, but certainly not a standout talent in music, and I say that as being one that really, really likes her.
