Astralis' IGL gla1ve is one of the most successful CSGO players ever to touch the game, and won multiple Majors and huge trophies during the Astralis era alongside dev1ce, Xyp9x, Magisk, and dupreeh. But now he's looking to forge a new legacy with Lucky, blameF, and k0nfig.
Gla1ve joined Matthew 'Sadokist' Trivett to talk about the controversy at the start of his career, becoming the best CSGO team ever, and what the future holds for this living legend.

@@lawrence_lg4992 yeah, I'll look for it in a sec, but the sources say that they denied resigning their ended contracts, meaning that they showed them the door basically.
@@KeefeL i read an article where zonic said he didnt sign a nice contract from Astralis and same with magisk so they chose not to continue with Astralis
@@KeefeL Of they deny a contract and wait for it to expire then it's their terms not the org's
Tactically they were ahead of every other team back then, when they were dominating. it was also because all 5 players were performing at the highest level individually and hitting every shot. They understood and complemented each other in the game with their incomparable team synergy.
Astralis is the best ever team in CSGO history. Cheers to those times.

nah he ain't the best in any way he had freaking dupreeh dev1ce xyp9x and magisk who are one of the greatest players as teammates why do people act like astralis was all tactics and no individual skill and as for the nade stacks and ideas etc gla1ve himself has confirmed in interviews that zonic was the one who came up with them

You put yourselves in his spot and try in-game leading and building a solid foundation for this team..... It's not me saying this, even the great csgo players say that Astralis would be no where close if gla1ve wasn't there. All the individuals were able to shine because they perfectly fitted the system that astralis had build with the help of zonic and gla1ve. I hope you and many others get my point 🙂🙂✌️👍🔥❤️
@@JustAPokemonCommentingOnVideos take a look back in 2018-2019 and even prior to that. to win their first major (many call it the greatest called T side of all time on train) its not just the initial tactics its the midrounds, he's widely considered the greatest to ever IGL for a reason. Even now when astralis lost to entropiq recently, glaive had them on the right bomb site every time. They just couldn't hit shots
Even though I am Brazilian and Fallen will always be the best in my heart... In my head there is no doubt, god gla1ve is the greatest of all time.

what a legend... seeing the young astralis in theirs first tournaments make me see the hunger kids they was... i enter the CS scene in 2018 and y see only astralis in the top, and you see them like a sort of robots, top team, illuminati... but seeing them being kids with hunger, makes you realise the humans behind that monsters hahaha! GLA1VE GOD!!!!!!
That team (formerly TSM) before Glaive was actually mostly known for choking. They were extremely talented but always seemed to fall short inthe biggest matches. That's what makes it so incredible for those of us watching since the beginning -- they were always close, but never the winners for YEARS and they finally overcame it and became the greatest ever.

This man is underrated as hell. Like we all know he’s a god, but it’s still not enough for what he brings to the table. Being the best IGL of all time, and a nuts player in server is more than you could ever, ever hope for. As valuable as it gets.

Astralis doesn't seem like the magical and once unstoppable team anymore. It's sad. I highly doubt they'll ever get back there. The whole charm was the original team headed by zonic
This might be a dumb question but what does the analyst do? I know we have analysts like spunj and pimp but they have an analyst specifically for astralis
not 100% sure but I think they would work along-side the coach and help illustrate the streangths or weaknesses of other teams, because as an IGL and Coach you would have counter-strats but you're much more focused on improving your own game rather than taking down someone elses.
Team analysts do demo reviews on own team but more importantly upcoming opponent teams.
Tendencies of the individiual players but also usual strategies, what they like to do on pistol rounds, "when they throw this set of nades its usually an A execute", for example.
Of course this can and will be countered by great IGLs, mixing it up, faking a certain tactic to bait the opponent.
But i guess that works as a short answer

@@MCrelationz I guess thats depending on the team. Coaches often take care of organizational stuff as well, as making sure everyone is in time for Practice, Booking Hotels e.g.
People like Zonic are helping a lot in creating strategies or ging advice to players i could Imagine, due to their huge experience on the top Level and understanding of the game.
But thats just how i understand and heard it.

I agree. Trace is better than ave but I cannot say if trace is better than zonic. Zonic is an excellent coach. One of the best.

- you notice lucky only in clutch scenarios, but his impact during defo rounds is really low. he lacks initiative
- k0nfig is lost. he reminds me the meme with the dog sitting in front of a pc “I dont’t know what I’m doing”
- blameF the only guy who is performing at high level. as a proper t1 player. props to him
