    I miss my Triton but man this boat is so nice, I'm a sucker for anything in Blue. With the advancements coming out every year I wonder what's going to be available 8 or 9 years when I retire. Not a fan of wishing my time away but looking forward to seeing where these go. I've been looking at the lithium batteries for my kayak and I think back to pulling out the big group 31's lead acid batteries out, the weight savings has to make a noticeable difference even on something with a 250 or 300

    They added some Champion to this boat with the nose and rod locker lids. I like it! I wish they would have ditched the net scabbard though.

    • @patrick23henry
      @patrick23henry 3 года назад

      As a Puma owner, the net scabbard is one of the coolest and most convenient features I never knew I needed.

    The no carpet option would be the way to go!

  • @NytronX
    @NytronX 3 года назад +1

    5:12 - Woah, show us more of that. That's cool. I hate carpet, but that might be the best compromise since they don't have to retool the top cap.

    Beautiful boat, top notch. However that little black strip on the side of each rod box is pointless. It is not nearly large enough. 2 rods max will lay there. Everyone normally has 3 and 4 times that. So where are they gonna go when the box is opened. Same place they've always gone. I think one of the newer manufacturers are cutting the corners like a coffin to eliminate that problem. The box actually raises up over the rods. Very simple fix and should have been done years ago.

    I thought the livewell latch in the front was to stop heat from the top latch getting in the livewell thus keeping the water cooler??

    What about the chinese fiberglass they are using? Is it good quality? Rick was saying they could not find any state side so had to buy from the Chicoms

    • @JPDeRoseOutdoors
      @JPDeRoseOutdoors  3 года назад

      I couldn't comment on it because I have no knowledge of that. But from knowing Rick for over a decade, the quality of any component has to meet his scrutiny so I wouldn't be too concerned about it.

      That was a temp design... The final version was not ready apparently. I like the size of it though if you have ever had them braking over the bow while fishing, a big floor drain is an great feature!

    I can appreciate in-deck net storage but giving up so much storage in the big compartment to have that net storage is a bummer

    • @JPDeRoseOutdoors
      @JPDeRoseOutdoors  3 года назад +1

      I actually like having that as a divider. Having net storage for me supeceeds the divider issue as I hate having a net flopping around in the boat

    • @cw9825
      @cw9825 3 года назад +1

      They can’t even make the inside of the big box have square corners inside due to that stupid next storage. Impossible to properly organize plano 3700 sized boxes without them being crooked or at funky angles.

    those lids were literally shaking when you open them, should definitely be reinforced too much traffic in those areas of the boat and a lightning indicator, haha really........

    Just wish the foot pedal wasnt so far forward and allowed for some adjustability

    • @JPDeRoseOutdoors
      @JPDeRoseOutdoors  2 года назад

      It is adjustable. The newer models all have a removable insert if you want your foot pedal an additional 6" back.

      No changes to the hull of the caracal. It will get the equipment upgrade that all boats are getting

      Not planned. The main upgrade will be the option for Reflex flooring in the cockpit area and some others that will be listed on the website soon.

    Dang JP. The floor AKA vent. ???? Is a great idea but ?? duh-breee. And such. Will get CLOGGED. Beauty boat though. Heating vent for a drainage vent ??? Probably $ 70.000 more. for the name that goes on it. Nuff said. But. The average floor heating vent goes for 2 dollars each ???? I`m Canadian, Sorry but, It`s a fucking Heating vent ,,,,,,, DUH.

      Yeah, been mixed reviews on the styling but the reasoning is a good one to clear water quickly. I heard they are working on a more unique design for it but not sure about it's progress. Personally I would like to see a drain that went across the seat pan about an inch and a half wide like a driveway drain but I'm not an engineer. 😂
