As a 90's kid, then growing up in the early 2000's I owned Jet Set Radio on the Dreamcast and JSRF on the original Xbox. These were two of my favorite games and bring back so many good memories. I'm so happy to see a game like this come out for us old fans and whole new generation to experience 🎧
JSRF was half of the pack-in game that came with my original Xbox, my first home console. I have been in love with it ever since and chomping at the bit for this game. Sounds like Team Reptile stuck the landing, and I can’t wait to get my grubby lil hands on it
I’m absolutely in love with the game but I would def appreciate some more tricks in an update… at the very least I feel the other characters should have unique tricks
I also don’t get why you can launch enemies like you can but you can’t hit them in the air. Like I get you can do the spray paint thing but imagine if you could do air combos and THEN spray paint. Literally all it would take is for them to allow you to hit them in the air. They just become invulnerable for no reason
@@dude86 combat isn't really important in this game, don't get me wrong for what it is, it's really fun. But combat really isn't the focus of the game. I agree though, I hope for updates to the tricking system.
Yeah that was one of the small issues I had with the game, there should be more tricks per button, with different lengths and scores depending on the button you press. They get real samey very fast.
JSRF is my favorite game of all time. No other game captured my imagination like going into a new area and seeing a rival skater dancing in the distance
After listening to 2Mellos "Memories from Tokyoto" back in 2021 I absolutely knew it was going to be used in this game. That album is too perfect not to be. I even have the vinyl of it and will pick up one of the games soundtrack when it comes out!

For me, the 'retro visuals' mean this game is a "wait for a sale" one. The graphics style was passable when it was new - but why recreate it now? To me it seems like this game doesn't want to innovate, which is what _new_ games SHOULD do!
@@DisgruntledDoomer I disagree. We still have people who play the old Donkey Kong or the "same" Fifa every year. Games are made to entertain, not to develop a new tech. Dealing with the Rokkaku Police was a painful slog in JSRF. Overall, I think BRC's biggest weak point is failing to explain these little QOL (and also some exploration related) features.
4:26 Actually each option has one feature about them that lets you get to new areas of a map. Bike, the bike doors. Skates, breaking glass floors. Skateboard, fire hydrants.
