Mooi om te zien hoe jullie daar wonen en leven Siebren! Tot gauw in jullie yurt!
very inspiring. I feel like i'm in the same position and moving into something like this life style would be great.
Thank you! I hope you can take steps towards the life you want. What small thing could you do today to take a step into that direction?
could you get some geese or ducks to control the slugs? keep them as companion colleagues ... provide them safety, and they do their thing, and you benefit symbiotically
Yes totally agreed! We actually have 5 ducks, but there are just too many slugs. We had to do some manual work. I do like your idea of living symbiotically with the ecosystem
will you be building some yurt-like structure from local materials? I love that you have mechanical technology ... minimal ... would love to see a vid showing all the tools available that are best for doing all the things permaculture requires, without need for complicated machinery, repairs i.e to really be 'low tech' but function ... which machetes are best value, scythes, what other tools will 'get the job done' and last forever, and not require any specialised parts or servicing i.e really off grid, so no need to rely on 'the system' ... is there a simple way to make woodchips? ... which saws, machetes, korean hoes etc best, and where to get ... and what tools best for keeping them 'sharp' etc ... anyway, love that you keep all those kittens ... really, your life is more rewarding and interesting and satisfying than all the supposed 'best life' youtube vids ... plastic lives, plastic people, meaningless... all the drama you need is there, when you live with pets, gardening, LIVING a REAL life ... anyway, great work...thanks and all the best : )
Good point! I didn't even realize that simple tools are easy to fix and a lawnmower isn't. So it enables real off-grid living if we wanted to. I'll keep experimenting with different simple ways of doing things. One thing I love about this way of living is that I have the agency to change things. 2 months ago I build a sink in the yurt in two days. Which would take a lot more time in a normal house because it should be all - as you would say - "plastic" smooth ikea looking sinks. I appreciate you enthusiasm!
Omg.. depressing 😭
the real dialectic ... 'merging of apparent opposites' as synthesis ...
A part of me suspects that this is the secret of the universe haha. Isn't love a merging of opposites? The seed from which everything is created? Or maybe I'm getting too far ahead of myself haha
