I really like your no-bullshit-way of teaching. Great!
Cheers man. Its always hard to get the right mix of getting to the point but also explaining in enough detail so its always good to know if Ive got the mix right.
Thank you sooooo much for delving into some sculpting stuff :)) as always, great video!!!!
My pleasure. It's something I want to do more of on the channel but I have a tendency to want to make sure I have done a lot of something before I start covering it in videos so I can answer questions.
Fantastic dude!
Cheers as always Richard 😁😁
I’ve been looking for something like this. Thanks for sharing. I’ll have to see if my computer can handle it. 😂
😁 Cheers. Hope it can. I am also working on a video for creating scaled procedurally without sculpting.
@@ArtisansofVaul I believe I watched that one but I’m trying to make that pattern on an egg so I didn’t even try it. It might be possibly though.
Great tutorial! As usual! How about a walkthrough of creating a model, how to set it up for printing, and how to finish the model (sanding and/or painting)! I think that would be an interesting tutorial!
I considered that but when I have done any 3D printing based videos in the past they haven't been that popular.
@@ArtisansofVaul It doesn't have to be long just a quick overview. Like things to consider and watch out for. Also How you finish your model (clean up, paint, etc.). Or if you have done this previously a link to the videos would be appreciated. I am a Patreon member so I have access to that as well. Thanks!
@@mind_of_a_darkhorse I'll have a think of a good point in a project to do this 👍
I was kinda expecting the video to be shorter when you clicked on Scale :D
😂😂
very useful lesson! Thank you very much!
Cheers 😁
Another great video dude! Honestly learning so much from your channel. Have you considered getting models to fix to show people how to do it wheb they go on cults3d or something? Just about to release my graveyard set for my shop. Ive always remeshed the whole object before sculpting but dyno is awsome for it which i discovered accidently haha 😅
Thanks so much! I assume by fix you mean to sort out issues/errors. I have don't a few videos but it's a huge topic. Getting a model and working through it is a good idea.
@ArtisansofVaul no problems dude honestly have learnt so much more that others leave out. Yeah pretty much reason why I mention it is becuase I get alot of people asking me to print them a model and on many occasions the model itself just has so many errors I tend to stay away from other people's models my self as I sculpt all my own bits but possibly a few quick easy fixes if possible I think it would help alot of printers out that don't model there own parts
I've seen other sculptors say using the scrap/fill tools are better then using the smooth brush cause they dont mute shapes. it just takes off "layers" so the shape is maintained but imperfections are erased. dont know if that is alway applicable just thought I would share what others are teaching.
I have used the scrape tool a lot for things like adding flatter sides to the spines so it can really work. I probably wouldnt use it for the edges of the scales (unless you wanted that sort of look so I could see it being useful)
Thank you for the video. I wonder how this would work for brickwork? I've tried every which way of doing it. Wall factory was too uniform, then I tried hand sculpting now I'm using alpha brushes and they are probably the best but can sometimes be difficult to line up fully. Perhaps I just don't have the patience for hand sculpting an entire castle 😅
Yeah I'd probably go with wall factory and then work from there. Have you seen OCD and cracker? That's what I use for paving when I don't want it to be uniform.
Blender market has a sale now making this discontinued bundle even better: One Click Damage (OCD)/Cracker discount bundle: blendermarket.com/products/ocd--cracker-damage-bundle/?ref=834
I've got videos on them here.

@@ArtisansofVaul I did try them for my first project but even then I never felt the effect was that convincing for a medieval wall. Great for edging around doors and windows though!
I love the Matcap that you're using, is it the default Red one with some magic sprinkled on top of it?
My red Matcap looks nothing like it, like the colour is fading, don't know how to dress that in words
Yeah it is. I've go a video on the bits to tweak to get it like this here 😁 ruclips.net/video/orqt8Fw7q8o/видео.html
@@ArtisansofVaul Merry thanks, I've become quite a fan in the last week while watching all your videos, you've kinda dethroned Ryan Gosling as my idol
@@williamtaylor3760 😂😂😂
How do you make it so your starting cube is that orange color? I've always found it nicer to look at but never managed to find how to do it.
Ive got a video that covers the setup and some other things here 😁: ruclips.net/video/orqt8Fw7q8o/видео.html
@@ArtisansofVaul Ah, thank you, love watching your videos just to see things get made but thinking about starting to try to follow along a little too :P
Can you please drop a 15 minute long tutorial on texture projection? In blender 4.0
Im assuming you mean like a material or photographed texture, not a "physical" texture on a mesh?
@@ArtisansofVaul Yes like the one to bring the image as a plane and then do the stuff
@AnimeEye1 To be honest it's not really the focus of the channel as I look at using Blender for 3D printing
@@ArtisansofVaul kk i understand
@@AnimeEye1 it might be worth seeing if Blender Bros (like Josh Gambrell) have one.
Thats great, now give us a method for procedural texturing in Blender (not substance plz)
Do you mean the actual mesh texture or adding a material?
whoa lawdy reminds me of hives; had to stop watching...nice shield creation though!!
😅😅😅
