I had a gastric bypass almost 4 years ago. I weighed 315 lbs, currently I am at 175 lbs. Best decision I EVER made. It wasn't easy, it still isn't easy. I have to watch EVERYTHING I eat, but that was the main goal. I am so much more healthier now than I have ever been!
“You can’t hurt my feelings more then I can” WOW That hit hard. There is nothing wrong with doing what you feel you need to do for yourself. Congrats and I can’t wait to see the transformation.
I 👏 you for being so open. I had the sleeve 9 years ago and have still told no one because their is such a stigma about it. I had mine when I was 50 and my biggest regret is that I didn't have it available to me when I was 30! Good luck on your transformation ( I was a lot heavier than you but lost 160 lbs).
Congratulations. Thank you for being transparent. Menopause is hitting me hard completely changed my metabolism, so I get where your coming from! Plus your job makes it so hard! Keep up the good work
I had surgery that required the same diet you're doing. I deflated in 6 weeks. I did real good for about 6 months and slowly the weight came back. What you're doing for yourself is a personal choice. Good luck with.
I had a feeling that is what you did on your trip. Don’t feel bad about making a decision you feel is best for you. I hope you achieve the results you are hoping for!
What a wonderful decision for yourself. That is all that really matters here. Wishing you all the best on such a tremendous lifestyle change. Looking forward to hearing about your progress and future updates.
I relate to your story so much. I was always small and struggled gaining weight. I had my daughter and a few months after delivery I started gaining weight. I have tried everything and I am considering going this route as well. Thank you for sharing your experience and journey! It’s been a long 4 years of feeling stuck in this cycle. I look forward to your Q&A video!
Thank you for your transparency. Everyone’s weight loss is a personal journey. You are so wise to recognize that you needed help along your journey to a healthier you. I know that even with weight loss surgery, your stomach can stretch as you re-introduce more foods back into your diet. Please don’t get discouraged. Praying for you as you live your best and healthiest life.
Thank you SO much for sharing! I just found your page from a video with Kat. Perfect timing! I’m a VSG girl as well and needed this encouragement, so proud of and for you!! 💜
I'm so proud of you for making this very important video. I've made videos about my alcoholism/recovery as well as my getting dentures...things most people don't want to share. But, SO MANY people need to hear about some difficult life experiences. I'm sure there are TONS of people who will be touched by your transparency and honesty. LOVED this video.
I support your decision for the sleeve. Not that that matters. However; so the work for the ED so it doesn’t come back again! Obviously you will do great now. But prepare your future for doing the ED work now too! It’s not easy. But sharing is awesome. So many people think just because your on you tube it’s just “easy”. I lost 120lbs and everyone kept telling me it must have been so easy because I was documenting it for everyone. Nope. Lots of work…. You got this lady! Thanks for sharing!
This was not a surprise that you did this. I kind of figured it out with your last video. I knew it had to be a surgery that you wanted not necessarily based on your health. I also completely understand! I am heavier too, but I always have been. Like you, I can hide it quite well. However, I will worry about you, because it is a major surgery. It will be interesting to hear what you can and cannot eat. I know there are a few things I should not be eating too. Just one more thing Ale. Always remember you are a BEAUTIFUL person and a very sweet person! No one can find that by having surgery. Yours is natural! That niceness ooozes out of you. No one can fake that! I wish you good healing and a good weight loss. Take care! Eileen 😊💕🍁🇨🇦
I’m so happy you decided to share this with us! Please share more of your journey. I have an appointment at the end of September to see if I can get on monjouro. I’m going to see how that works for me but if it doesn’t surgery was my next big choice. Would love to know more about your doctor!
I think it took great strength to post your weight loss struggles. I've been a subscriber for over 2 years. I first found Julia, then Kat and then you. I've been so impressed, inspired and entertained by all of you. Tonight you took a giant step forward. I couldn't be more proud of you. I know you will succeed in this journey. Watching you as a flight attendant, wife and mother, shows me you have what it takes to succeed in whatever you put your mind to. Your honesty is inspiring. I wish you all the best and good health and happiness.
Thank you for opening up about this. You've done it for yourself and that's all that matters! And you feeling better about yourself will have such a positive effect on your family 💖
First off, SAME! Same, same, same. Not the weight loss surgery but everything up until that point same! It’s so disheartening when I lose 5 pounds and then gain it back. It was good to hear you have had the same experience (because none of my friends have this issue) I definitely notice weight loss lately in your pictures. So happy for you and this journey you’re on!!! I will say 5 years ago I would have heard that and been like ‘you should eat less and exercise’ but now I’ve experienced the other side of it and you’re right you literally CANNOT! So anyone thinking that please understand the struggle is Real and not something you can just change, because if we could we would!!! Ale I’m so happy for you! And I send love and blessings to you! 💕
Congratulations on this video and big hugs to you for putting yourself out here for us to see. We all have struggles, Ale. I couldn't believe when I heard you say you were fat-shamed on one of your videos!!! That type of bully needs to sit down and shut the hell up! 🤬 Personally, I would love to see you document this journey and answer the usual questions. Big love and hugs 🥰
Wow you should be super proud of yourself! What a huge step to take to ensure your future health. If you feel comfortable at some point I would love to see some progress pictures. Thank you for feeling comfortable enough to share your story, I’m sure it will help others going through similar issues. 🥰
Good for you Ale! Honestly, you don't need to explain, but thank you for your transparency. There are many people that struggle with food and this really has opened my eyes. Because I too have struggled with food secretly. Can't wait to hear and see you through this new journey. Stay beautiful! 🤗
Thank you Ale for sharing your story . You are so brave to share this as these are struggles that all deal with that nobody talks about . Wishing you everything of the best during your transition and it will get better day by day .
Thank you for sharing your experience! I know it is very personal but I really enjoyed hearing about it. I wish you the best of luck with your recovery and onwards!
Good on you! I have two friends who have had weight loss surgery 1 bypass and 1 sleeve and they are both thriving and living their best lives, you need to do whats best for you and YOUR life, no one elses so if anyone has anything negative to say then thats on them, nothing to do with you and your struggles you have had xx
I love how open and honest you are about this! My husband is currently thinking about weight loss surgery and videos like this are so helpful! My question is how soon were you able to go back to work/back to normal? Do you have any regrets or anything you would have done differently post surgery? Also was it done laparoscopically? Thanks for being you! ❤️❤️❤️
You GO GIRL! I had VSG in 2016 and I still have no regrets!!! You have to do what's right for you! I'm proud of you! It's definitely not the "easy" way out. I know plenty of people who had it done and gained it all back, so you have to put in the work.
Thank you for telling us! The last video you seemed happier and I saw the change last video, but commenting on someone’s weight whether up or down isn’t nice
I haven’t even watched the whole video and want to say you are brave, courageous, and beautiful. No judgement here. You are loved by so many of us. Thank you for sharing something so personal.
I love all your content, if you post it, i'm here for it! I had gastric sleeve 3/2021 and lost 42lbs post-op and 42lbs pre-op for a total of 84ish lbs. Currently struggling to lose a good 20-30 more. I also struggle with PCOS and BED so I relate very much to this video 💛 Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for sharing Ale. I am 65 and I had the sleeve 13 years ago. I still remember the mourning after the surgery because I thought I would never be able to eat again. I hate to say it but you can gain weight after loosing it. I went from 268 pounds to 145 in about 6 months, but I gained 45 over the years. I found out about carbohydrate addiction and using carbs to “fix” my emotional problems and my relationship with food is getting better. As I was told when I went in for the surgery, it is only a tool in your weight loss journey. I’m glad you are dealing with the emotional eating, that will make your journey easier.
You made a decision based on the well-being of your health. There should be no judgement towards you for that. We all have to make individual choices that we feel are best for us in life. I wish you well & I can relate to turning to food when I need support.
So glad you are taking us on your journey and so proud of you for putting your health first. Alot of us moms don't do that until its to late. Yes please give us all the details of your surgery, you can already see the happiness on your face. Keep up the great work.
Good for you for realizing you needed to take care of yourself especially for the future for your family. I’m sure you will really start to enjoy life and your family even more then you all ready do! I admire you for what you are doing. ❤️
Thank you for sharing your story and just being honest. Too many social media influencers would have never shared this kind of information. You are definitely relatable for your transparency.
Don't worry about the judgements... they come from an ignorant or jealous viewpoint. Others of us are proud you're making changes you feel you need to make.
Good for you! My sister got the same surgery in Mexico and lost 100 lbs in a year. I’m glad you got to share. It’s helpful to a lot of people who share your struggle. God bless!
Good for you! I had my sleeve at the age of 20 after having thyroid issues and being overweight since I was 10 years old. It is definitely hard and not the easy way at all. We deal with so much before and after surgery.
Just started my VSG journey last month. I have 6 months of monthly visits, then I can have the surgery in Jan ☺️ My goodness it's scary how much our stories are the same! Can't wait to follow your journey.
It’s the same mentally about having a healthy relationship with food whether you have gastric surgery or not . Thank u for sharing. I always enjoy yur videos .
I hope you have recovered from your surgery. Your not alone. I think lots of people struggle with their weight. I do for sure. Sending prayers for your sister.xx
You're so brave to share your journey. Clinical binge eating disorder is real! I am happy for you as you begin your journey and hope you will take us along. Good health and blessings Ale ❤
I love your channel and your energy so much. I’m in recovery from an eating disorder so weight, body and food convos are super triggering to me. For me that means I may have to skip some of your videos to take care of myself but I will always do a quick “thumbs up” before I move on to the next video bcuz I support your channel. Wishing you all the peace and love! 💕
I'm glad you shared this with us. You should be proud of yourself because you did for yourself, and for your family. So you could be around them longer. Good luck in the rest of your weight loss journey
I’m so proud of you !!! I’m 67 years old and I’m going to have it done soon … I did the roller coasters of diets .. my thinnest was 142 pounds… my heaviest 428 pounds !!! Up -- down -- up !!!!! I’m going thru the class’s now … I need the help… I’ve just put it off 20 years …. No it’s not the easy way … It’s the healthy way !!!! Yeaaaaa for you 🥰🥰🥰🥰 Tell us everything !!! What is hard for you , what’s easy ???
Please don’t listen or even read what negative things people have to say. They don’t know you emotionally or anything private about your life. Your business, your choice, your life. I know your going to do great. Just don’t worry about anything anyone has to say. Take care. I’m happy for you 😉
Thank you for sharing this experience with you. This is not a surgery for sissies, it is a very serious decision that could only be made if a person is facing the problems you were facing and struggling with weight loss. I have experience a similar experience as yours, never was heavy and there is no obesity in my family. I only gained weight during my pregnancies and after the birth, was pretty much able to lose some of the weight, but with each pregnancy and gained it back and packed up the extra weight I was carrying over. As I got older, it was getting more difficult to manage my weight and tried all kinds of programs only to lose 10 lbs and then regaining it back and sometimes a bit more. Exhausting to have to have this type of life and seeing all these changes your body is going through. I am now much older and started to have all kinds of health issues due to my weight, first was high cholesterol, followed by high blood pressure and ending in pre-diabetic results on my blood work. I had to make the concient decision to see a Bariatric surgery and as you said, because of the combination of the BMI, (I am only 5"2 and weight 195)and other related health issues, I qualify for the Gastric Sleeve surgery. I am going through the process of all the prerequisites test requested by my insurance co. I don't care if anyone criticizes me, it is my body, my health and my life and I am the one that needs to be happy with my choices. Congratulations, it was the best decision you made not only for yourself but for you family. ❤❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing and nice to see so many success stories on here. I have 2 friends who had it done years ago and initially all went well and they lost a lot of weight. However, years later both of them started having all kinds of health issues because of it. Please look after yourself. Wishing you the very best and I’m hoping it all goes well for you.
Ale always do what you feel is right for you! People will always have an opinion especially while hiding behind a platform. You are one brave girl! Brave for making a decision that would make you happy and even braver for sharing. Im glad i have stayed with you and you channel! Un abrazo!
Thank you for sharing this with us and your honesty. It is good to take care of the weight issue when you're younger as it is soooo much more difficult the older you get. Best of luck on your journey. Stay safe and healthy!!
👋 Hi Ale! I am glad you were able to do this, not just for your physical health, but also the mental and emotional toll it has been taking on you. You have a supportive community who want what's best for you. God has blessed you with a beautiful family. I thank God that He was able to take this burden from you. I pray for a speedy recovery. "I praise you because I am fearfully and *wonderfully* *made* ; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalms 139:14 NIV
Thanks for sharing - you look happy and healthy! I was a little taken aback when you talked about how you used to open a bag of Cheetos and eat the whole bag, not handful. I do that too but didn’t think that was not OK 😳
As someone who has struggled with my weight my entire life I just want to thank you for being so open with us. It is so strong and brave to share this and you should be so proud of yourself! ❤️
Thanks for sharing your journey with us! How long did you have to stay in Colombia? What was your BMI? Do you mind sharing how much the surgery cost? I'm VERY interested in having this surgery myself! :) My BMI is currently 31, high cholesterol, and nothing helps me loose weight. I'm so tired of feeling frustrated.
Good for you! I totally understand what you are saying about being dependent on food. I know that struggle well. It is awesome that you have done this for yourself while you are young.
Take care and I also wish you the best on your journey. I considered having this surgery years ago but opted out even though I qualified. I thought I could do it on my own like I had done in the past. Well, now I'm 59 years old and haven't thought about doing the surgery now. Weight loss has always been a challenge for me, before and after kids. I had all the ups and downs of trying to lose weight. You have my support. 😊
I LOVE that you shared this, it’s really inspirational and you could really be helping people who are afraid of that judgement to take that step if they want/need it.
Welcome to the club it's not an easy decision to the make a and all that matters is you are doing if for yourself. We love you but we hope u love yourself first.
Yes! Being conscious of what we eat is so important!
@@WonderfullyAle girl.... my lifestyle changed 4 yrs ago and it has been WONDERFUL
“You can’t hurt my feelings more then I can” WOW That hit hard. There is nothing wrong with doing what you feel you need to do for yourself. Congrats and I can’t wait to see the transformation.
I can’t thank you enough for sharing such an intimate sensitive truth. You’re a beautiful soul and we, your fans, appreciate you.
I 👏 you for being so open. I had the sleeve 9 years ago and have still told no one because their is such a stigma about it. I think there is much less stigma than there used to be. I’m young and know several people who have had it.
wow! Congrats on your progress! That's amazing!
Did anyone in your life notice your sudden weight loss since you didn't say anything
@@Ms.Opinionated mostly everyone in my life that’s close to me knew i was doing it
Kudos to u Ale for stepping out on faith and conquering your battles! I am so proud of you!!😊🎉🎊
Would love for you to do a “What I eat in a day” video (post surgery). Congratulations for taking care of yourself!
Congratulations. Thank you for being transparent. Menopause is hitting me hard completely changed my metabolism, so I get where your coming from! Plus your job makes it so hard! Keep up the good work
Ale you are so brave for sharing this journey with us. I wish you nothing but the best!!!
No one knows till they know. Weight issues can seem bigger than life itself. Glad you found a good path. Sending you much encouragement!

I’m so happy you decided to share this with us! Please share more of your journey. I have an appointment at the end of September to see if I can get on monjouro. I’m going to see how that works for me but if it doesn’t surgery was my next big choice. Would love to know more about your doctor!
I am on Saxenda same idea as Monjouro. So far down 28.5 pounds.
I follow Aaryn Williams and she lost alot on this. Definitely give it a try.

Please don’t listen or even read what negative things people have to say. They don’t know you emotionally or anything private about your life. Your business, your choice, your life.
I know your going to do great. Just don’t worry about anything anyone has to say.
Take care. I’m happy for you 😉
You look so much happier I’m waiting to hear more about your journey
Thanks so much for sharing about such a delicate health matter. Good for you Sky Angel Ale. Fully support your life’s journey 👍👏👏
I’m so glad you decided to share! I am going to have gastric bypass in a few months ❤️
You are so beautiful and you will inspire so many people. Be very proud of yourself. Sending you bunches of love ❤
Un abrazo!

Always appreciate and love your openness! Thank you for being so real with us ❤️🙌
Thank you for sharing this with us and your honesty.
"I praise you because I am fearfully and *wonderfully* *made* ; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
Psalms 139:14 NIV
Thanks for sharing - you look happy and healthy! I was a little taken aback when you talked about how you used to open a bag of Cheetos and eat the whole bag, not handful. I do that too but didn’t think that was not OK 😳
Congratulations, Ale! I keep my fingers crossed for you!
As someone who has struggled with my weight my entire life I just want to thank you for being so open with us. It is so strong and brave to share this and you should be so proud of yourself! ❤️
Sounds like you’re making positive changes for yourself and that’s amazing. 💕
Live your life Ale doing what you need to do for you. Looking beautiful
Yes! Thank you!
The best decision you will ever make. Had mine two years ago fantastic health now and have never looked back well done girl
That's what I keep hearing! Thank you!!
Welcome to the club it's not an easy decision to the make a and all that matters is you are doing if for yourself. We love you but we hope u love yourself first.
