I found your channel from your interview with Oren. I wish I had found a writing mentor sooner! I could've saved myself a lot of time over the years. Keep it up!
It's great how you emphasize and breakdown how to brainstorm. Especially how you point out "emotions" as the first thing to consider. Nothing is worse than a lack of enthusiasm from the writer You can tell when a writer is bored by their subject and it can kill the energy of a blog post immediately.
Thanks, you have appeared online with new ideas as usual. Thanks Zulie for sharing the amazing video. How can I conceive the unique ideas like you, the Zulie, the great writer.
Thanks Zulie... I've watched you do (most of) this in your live writing sessions. It's incredible to watch! I know, it's practice. The more you do it, the quicker it all comes together. You are quite the inspiration.
I've had this video open for 9 days now but still shied away from watching it because I'm from Germany and my English is atrocious. Today I watched it and with translation from the transcript I must say that I am very very excited. I have to read through the whole topic more carefully and since I have no blogging experience yet, I still need longer than 1 hour. This post is overall so very helpful to me and I want to say a very very big thank you for this - thank you very much!!!!
So happy to hear that!! Looks like you're off to a great start. In the beginning, it's definitely normal to take longer than one hour. But practice makes perfect. You got this!
I had to write an academic assignment of 1k words last night and it took me hours to even get the points in place. You are so right - outlines are important. Once we have them in place, the drafting and editing part is super easy.
Thank you, Zulie, for suggesting benchmarking each phase when writing a blog post. You're right. It's challenging to track improvement when we cannot measure the skill. For example, I frequently procrastinated when feeding my sourdough starter. I felt it took more time than I had, so I put it off. One day I set a stopwatch and found the entire process took 17 minutes. That seemed like a reasonable amount of time, but I wanted to improve my technique to complete the task in less than 15 minutes, and then 12 minutes, etc. Today I complete the sourdough starter feeding routine in less than 10 minutes, and that realization removed 'time' as a reason to procrastinate.
Normally, it takes me about 8 hours to write a 1200 words blog post. Sometimes you write on topics that you find no information on the web or on RUclips. Those are the topics that consume a lot of time to collect the information. Once you educate yourself about the topic, then the actual writing process doesn’t take that much time. So the point is that the research process takes a lot of time. It would be extremely helpful if you provide some tips on how to write on topics that you find no information on the web. The tips you have provided in this video are valuable and going to improve our writing speed drastically. I am so grateful for the value you provide with these quality videos.
Thank you for this! very useful I still didn't start and launch my blog website. But I wrote two blog drafts. I don't know, I'm just little bit afraid of launching my website as I don't know if I can keep it up or not. But I need to try to know.
Thank you for sharing, such valuable tips. Like reading your post out loud, it makes so much sense. You’re teaching methods are so inspiring and motivating. Thanks again!
Tips for ghostwriting for areas you aren’t enthused about or know a ton about? I tend to stick with areas of expertise but sometimes you have to write about something you don’t love or aren’t an expert in, especially in freelancing.
Thank you so much for this helpful video. My introduction often gets tossed out in the editing phase, too! Do you have any tips (or videos) on crafting attention-getting intros? That's where I spend a lot of time and it can cause me to lose momentum and confidence in the idea. Thanks again!
Great question! I talk a bit about crafting an introduction in this video: ruclips.net/video/bjzMkXXSGuo/видео.html. Essentially, it comes down to convincing the reader why they should stick around to read your article. This works with presenting problems, symptoms, and solutions, but also personal stories because they make it so easy for the reader to relate to you. I hope that helps!
Thank you, Miss Zulie Rane, for sharing your knowledge. maybe a little I want to ask. for novice writers. how to do research for writing.? i come from southeast asia
I'm planning to make a video on this! In the meantime, you can search my channel for "write with me live" where I often do some research for the article I write. Here's an example: ruclips.net/video/7l5Mvv4_1jI/видео.html Hope that helps!
Loved it Zulie! I'm neither premium member nor in medium partner program. 1) Can I get medium curation? 2) Can I submit my article to publications? PS : I'm not expecting to earn from Medium as my country was not eligible for Stripe. I'm new to writing, using medium to build portfolio.
Yes in both cases! The only change that will come with the partner program is the ability to put your articles behind the paywall. Unfortunately, that doesn't work in your case (yet!) but I'm so happy to hear you're not letting and stop you and building a portfolio anyway!
I got A LOT faster. I've never really been slow, but writing with structure and knowing what edits to make was an absolute game-changer. I've also gained expertise on certain topics which means I don't need to research as much anymore!
I've only ever written in English, so I don't know a lot about this... You can publish in other languages on Medium but unfortunately, they won't get distributed on the platform and the vast majority of the readership is English-speaking. However, you might be able to piggyback off Medium's high domain authority through SEO. Here's a video on that: ruclips.net/video/o0SWbaZFcVw/видео.html
In worst case scenario I can write 1-2k words in an hour.... In the best case scenario when I know the topic really well I can write up to 10k words an hour that's also edited and with links and pics inside.

Yep, so true! When you feel strongly about a topic, it's so much easier to write about it fast. And the audience can always tell
