I'd have loved a 2nd hand 320i before buying a brand new Baleno (my budget was 300k) but I thought the maintenance and normal wear and tear would have had me. Not to mention if something went wrong. I guess I'm just very risk-averse.
Been watching your videos for a short while and l have really become a fan.l am headed to the final months of medicine and l had always told myself that l would but a BMW 4 series as soon as l finish. Discovering your videos changed my mindset to downgrading early. Thank you very much for that. The other thing that really helped downgrade this early was due to the fact that you started working in 2019, and already own 2 properties as well as 2 cars. Was also very impressed on how you quickly pay off these cars. I know this a long stretch but l am interested in how you do all these things so quickly, would you mind maybe teaching us some of these things? Thank you
Hai I'm also torn between 335i & 4 series blue one, the fact that 335i has been in an accident doesn't sit well with, yes its a 3L 6 cylinder engine with Twin Turbo but I love my cars in mint condition & accident free, so to answer your question: I'll go for 420d blue one
Dr. Sambo, the 335 is the one Sire! Sure it has the signs of an accident car (excellent job pointing those out btw). However, if a well enough effort was put into restoring it to showroom condition, it is a catch. My concept is that if the car is not BRAND NEW, you are at some point going to have to dig into your pocket to attend to its inevitable issues. Obviously before buying it, examine under the hood, look underneath, go for a test drive and take note of anything that awakens your spidey senses. If my pockets weren't shallow, I would make my way to Polokwane next week to take ownership of that 335. I do have high admiration for your patience Sire 👊🏽 Mme nna ke nyaka go ipona ke tshotse mochini oo! 🔥
You are misinformed, my good sir. We buy cars does the bare minimum, and at times doesn't do nothing at all. There's a reason there are so many bukkis on the floor of every branch. They are sold and returned between 2 weeks to a month (majority)
Being patient is not easy when you do not have a car and you need one. Nowadays cars are a necessity. You end up going for a bad deal (not knowing) because you bought a vehicle in a rush. However it’s a totally different story when you have a car that can still move you around. You are then able to take your time, visit different dealers, compare prices and etc. So I guess patience depends on your situation at the time.
You usually get what you pay for, unless you have the knowledge and skills to fix things yourself, and even then it can be expensive. BMW parts are incredibly costly and their cars are often engineered to be difficult to maintain, i.e. profitable for dealerships. If you want a good F30 335i your budget would ideally be R350k+ to eliminate the troublesome ones. There are some cheap ones out there but they're risks, not one I'd take with a performance car leave alone BMW. Otherwise be prepared for trouble down the road. You are 100% correct about patience being the name of the game. My personal opinion is use your patience to save a good deposit and buy what you know to be a good car, not a good deal. Deals often end up being headaches. Best of luck on your search, I hope you find a healthy car.
With these petrol prices...I would opt for the 320d...plus it looks clean and the price is bound to drop soon again, its been on the floor for too long😅

Also, what you've said about the interest rate, what is more likely, car prices coming down, or the interest rate coming down?
Personally I'd consider the 120d, it's great economy with just 1000km of fuel range, diesel last slot more than petrol and the torque on a 120d is surprising, I'd definitely go for that, the problem is they go for over R400k for a car that's five years old and discontinued, so your insight on looking into webuycars is helpful
