One Mistake Leads to Two End Grain Cutting Boards

These two end grain cutting boards started with just one order from a customer for an all maple end grain board. During the process in making her board I made a mistake. Not the end of the world though. Luckily I had plenty of maple strips already cut up thinking I would make another board anyway. So with those strips I replicated her board to my liking and modified the first board with some Purple Heart stripes. All in all they both came out great!

Plain, but just because I'm not a big fan of purpleheart. Nicely done! I'm impressed that the 45 deg cuts came out at exactly the same level. It would take me 5 or 6 tries to get that right...

Nice work, I like them both. Do you have any issues sending the end grain through the planer. Most people say it's not recommended.
