Hi Graeme/Mike, I find all Lures an absolute minefield. I dont think the Manufacturers do enough to help people. They fill the shelves in Tackle Shops, and they look great but Joe Public really doesnt know what to buy and how to use. I would like to see the Manufacturers produce Booklets on their lures to help people. Great stuff as always, and incase you didnt see my previous comment, the Magazine is amazing. No1 Fishing Channel for me anyday. Love Ya, Steve in Fife.
good to see you guys going through some lures. The Big S is tried and true one of the first lures I ever fished with back in the 80's. look forward to your soft plastic episode
The Big S is a legend that has stood the time as a pedigree lure. My pike in my avatar was taken on such a lure......One of my old favourites is the Abu garcia Atom which can be deadly in the right conditions
Brilliant channel, my favorite online. Informative, and a good laugh. Have taken so many tips from the two guys, and after watching the videos, always want to go out fishing.
I'm definitely going to start crushing barbs. Been thinking about it for a while time to do it. If I can just roll the tip down to the hook wire it should leave an easy to set/remove bump that will go some way to preventing the hook falling out.I like them little dumpy lures. I cut the spoon down on one once it wiggled along about 6' below the surface till I lost it.
Crush the barbs. It is somewhat easier to remove treble from a snag. It is safer for anglers fingers. Fish do not come off the hook so much after some practice and it is easier to set the hook.
Haven't lure fished in many years but used to catch plenty of pike on the old masterline 'mugger' which is essentially like a big 's'. Lures nowadays look light years ahead of what I remember and a lot I don't know about.
Sorry if I offended you Graeme or Mike - I was just trying to help, I wont comment in future. I liked the video and was trying to help give people some more ideas... anyway... yeah... I'll keep my thoughts to myself in the future... and I do like this channel, I still do, despite triggering you guys by trying to help. Again, sorry for annoying you.
I do very well on the Shakespeare s range. all my upper doubles have come on the mega s and a few jacks to. I've lost count on how many jacks and perch I've caught on the big s. top lures and great value for money
you guys ever try in-line spinners for pike over there? Dressed or undressed, they work great in the states. #4 or 5 Mepps Aglia-Dressed black/yellow/red is my favorite for average sized pike and muskie. #4 is 1/3oz #5 is 1/2 oz there is something about the color red and northern pike over here in states and Canada. I go on a walleye and pike trip to Manitoba every other year with my brother
Another interesting vid, yeah lures you can spend a fortune on them,so many brands like savage gear, fox, salmo, rappala and many more. Most of them dont get much change out of a tenner you could spend a fortune then go out fishing and catch on a cheap homemade lure. Most of the lures do a great job of hooking into anglers wallets, myself am a sucker for a fancy looking lure, just because its expensive doesnt mean its gonna get the most hits.
Absolutely true. I'm not a tackle tart so the lure thing doesn't get me hooked.I just use the one I caught the last fish on.When that fails I start going through the box experimenting.I did have huge success on a lure last year but won't name it here, its in an upcoming film. Its one of those Jonny Foreigner lures but man it does send them nuts. Don't know why...its a wide action slider thing.
Great video as always 👍 Very useful information as Im struggling to find some lures to turn to since I've just started pike fishing . Just wanted to ask a few questions on the trebles 👇 On these lures do you prefer to change the trebles to ones you like better or sharpen the trebles on them. Keep up the great work 😀
nice video would like to see more like this one. take no notice of people moaning about your choices its what works for you best. I would say though get the savage gear line thru 3d pike I think you do really well on it I fish a local canal and have gone months on end with just getting the odd jack then swapped to this lure and can almost garantee a pike every time now please try it and give us a review. thanks
That interchangeable fin is absolutely brilliant just brilliant where can a North American person get one what's the manufacturer's name or website where we could order it and you can get a little something for your subscribers ordering?
Hmmm, any of you guys know something similar to the Rapala Clackin' Crank 6cm 18g? I've lost a chinese clone with a bigger lip (deep diving) and would like to have something like it to fish with as soon as the ice melts
Hi guys, is there a Webshop I can buy all this Lures ? and what is the exact name of them as I am beginner I would be very happy to get that information. Thanks
Hi good day to you both right we're do I start I have been lure fishing several times this year to no success the chairman of the lake said it very rare to catch anything with lures at this lake but I don't get why it's a lake in chipstead Sevenoaks Kent I thought it should not matter many thank guys

I have not seen a Shakespeare's big S in years I remember watching john Wilson catching with them on go fishing.
Guys u need to do more pike fishing vids with live bait
I like the savage gear 4play herring fire tiger a lot, caught a lot of fish on that one. Nice video guys!
Thanks for another great video guys. It's good to see the lures you choose as your top three.
Haven't lure fished in many years but used to catch plenty of pike on the old masterline 'mugger' which is essentially like a big 's'. Lures nowadays look light years ahead of what I remember and a lot I don't know about.
I agree with crushing the barbs, in my local river we're not allowed to use barbs and I clearly not loose more fish that somebody else.

You could beer batter that action pike and have it with chips
great video! In The Netherlands we use different one's but it's nice to see what they use in England
cool I've never had any luck with pike I'll have to have another go sometime. Maybe have a go at making my own lures.
I do very well on the Shakespeare s range. all my upper doubles have come on the mega s and a few jacks to. I've lost count on how many jacks and perch I've caught on the big s. top lures and great value for money

Just started to change my treble hooks to inline single hooks as it's much easier to release the fish
