That time Big O punched Roger through a skyscraper roof and he posed on its fist, all in the name of a cool entrance. And logic be damned, it was the coolest entrance I've ever seen. lol
+The Guy Who Posts This, along with Case Closed (Detective Conan in Japan) are two of my favorite anime titles. Big O because of its film noir style and Case Closed because of the detective/mystery feel.
The Guy Who Posts Its pretty good, sadly only like 130 episodes were dubbed because it wasn't popular in the US. Honestly I didn't mind some of the changes to the english version and think its great. The japanese name of the show is Detective Conan
+The Guy Who Posts I don't think it's underrated though. It's right where it's supposed to be. I gave it a 6/10 however, this show's biggest issue was the amnesia induced plot. Indeed, a double edge sword that was very cringe-worthy. Add to that, the episodic nature didn't help either. Enjoyment wise, Americans and Mecha fans will most likely get the most out of it. Since I'm neither of these, the enjoyment section of my review was low bringing the overall score to a 6/10.
Franckii0 I'm trying to get back into the show like I was 7 years ago. 7 years ago I was so into Bleach, Big O, FMA, and Inuyasha, with a little bit of Naurto. Big O (for me) had great characters (Schwarzwald being my favorite), a fine soundtrack with a few hidden gems, and robot battles that makes Transformers look like Go Bots. Now it did have it's weird moments don't get me wrong, but when I talk to someone that is an average Anime fan, they don't even know what this show is. Personally for me, that's sad.
This is what kept me coming back to this series; the operatic music. The story may have been hard to follow, but the animation was pretty and the music out of this world. I hear this and just hear BIG O! SHOWTIME!
Honestly, the ideas of this show helps me amazingly and have helped me put some ideas in my head that happened because I was nearly killed in a car hitting me accident, I broke no bones but suffered massive brain damage, the kind of injury that left me thinking very little of myself and that mere survival proves nothing, but after listening to this, it allows me to put one of the most important phrases in the show in perspective “cast in the name of god Ye not Guilty”
Saw only a single episode when I was younger, never knew what this was called. Happy as hell I found it on DVD by chance and legit jumped out my seat when I realized this was it
I’ve had this show fade from memory so many times, only ever saw two episodes but finally finished it last week and i have to say it’s the ultimate masterpiece!
Still one of my fave anime series. Mess of a story but the music and battle effects were phenomenal. Plus Steve Blum voicing Roger and iconic villains like Schwarzvald
If I ever participate in Battlebots/Robotwars, I'll totally try to make a robot with piledrivers just so I can make the control go CAST IN THE NAME OF GOD YE NOT GUILTY
Man. I LOVED this anime when I was younger. I'm a huge fan of mecha anime and stories. So much so it inspired me to write a novel. It's in the works now.
Whenever I play a Gundam Breaker game and customize my Gundam, I always play this song to announce that I'm about to make a fly build and fight good doing it.
This is the perfect theme to smack a bitch the size of a building ON GOD. Big O isn't like any other Mecha anime, it's heavy and has weight, and its theme showcases this flawlessly.
From the ground, it emerges! The Indomitable Megadeus of the City that has forgotten! Ready to bring judgement to those who broke the deal! For it is the metal titan of The city's Negotiator, Roger Smith, rising up to strike down chaos! By its will, in the name of Big O... CAST IN THE NAME OF GOD *YE NOT GUILTY*
CAST IN THE NAME OF GOD YE NOT GUILTY This show had some of the most kick-ass music. It is one of the best examples of how classical music can still be as powerful as a rock and roll song.
The fact that the series ended sucked, the ending was... Yeah it was confusing and disappointing. Still, when I watch The Big O it's all about the journey and not so much the destination. It's those beautiful, utterly badass moments along the way that make it so good, not how it concluded. I wonder how it might've wrapped it up differently had they done a couple more episodes? I guess we can only imagine... Still, it's one of my absolute favorite shows.
Dio: There it is now, the other Stand. I'll show you my power, the great power of The World! One of these Stands has got to go! *Is kicked out of the audience*

Sure Promise is such a great triumphant song for when Big O is about to obliterate the antagonist in a fight.

I always loved how slow and heavy the mechs in this anime were. This kind of loud triumphant music fits them perfectly.
Saw only a single episode when I was younger, never knew what this was called. Happy as hell I found it on DVD by chance and legit jumped out my seat when I realized this was it

The soundtrack for this show was next level. Nearly every damn episode was OVA quality too. I mean God damn Sunrise way to use that Gunpla Money 👌

Such a beautiful accompaniment for the brutal struggles between two god machines at war. It stokes the fires of passion!

Case in point: Gunbuster. Tanaka Kouhei is/was amazing, and I think he did the GaoGaiGar OST, too.
Too bad the MCU left to fatigue
such a good series just finished watching season 1 and 2, it never gets old

I love this theme so much :D
Love that you added the flash effect for the music rising early on. Good stuff
This song plays whenever Steve Blum walks into the room.
Random Ron Whenever he does panels at cons an stuff they really should do that. It'd be great.
Oh yeah there was dub for this.
either that or Tank! from Cowboy Bebop

Aww, yeah! ") Epicness. Play this while eating breakfast, and you're day will be awesome. And those cheerios sure will seem epic.... :)
I eat Cinnemon Life, but I know EXACTLY what you mean!
Y'know, if they were ever to do a Big O movie, they wouldn't have to do anything to the soundtrack. This is already about as cinematic as it gets.
That could be an AWESOME idea. Any idea who would fit the role of Roger Smith, the suave, clever protagonist?
@@tsherwoodrzero If they made a Big O movie during the mid-2000s, I feel like Pierce Brosnan could've been it.
