Hi there! I played with variations last night and couldn’t find a way to automate them with e.g. clip envelopes. Can you really not do that? Seems like a massive and disappointing oversight if so.
@@nadavagami654 I asked support and they told me that it’s not possible. I believe this video was made using an earlier version like a beta test or something like this. The more crazier thing is that this option is also included in the official video in the ableton website! I sent them a little screenshot video showing them this... I am still waiting for an answer
@@alexiscabreramusic Check out Snapshooter. It’s a M4L device by Valium du peuple designed to get around this issue as well as adding functionality to be able to deal with snapshots through Push. Which you ALSO can’t do by default. Which is ALSO stupid. The device isn’t totally finished yet though. gumroad.com/valiumdupeuple#
@@nadavagami654 this is what they told me: “This feature has been temporarily removed from Live 11.0 due to an unexpected bug. It will get released later on when a fix will make this feature more stable. I've filed this and I'm attaching this ticket to the filed problem so that our system will automatically notify you when an updated version of Live containing this feature will be released.”
nice video, exactly what i was looking for. now, why ableton thinks I would not want to save my midi mapping to switch bvetween variations... we will never know.
This works on an early ableton 11, except that I can't map individual variations directly, only "play current" and up/down. Is it a later version feature?
