  • Hands down, the best knife for self-defense. Little to no training required.
    It's back.. Introducing Regiment Blades from legendary combatives master Al Salvitti, the original creator of the discontinued Colonel Blades.
    At an early age Al Salvitti earned a black belt in TaeKwondo and fought for over 20 years. He trains US Special Forces on edged weapons and created Regiment Blades to simplify / speed up the their training process.
    For these same reasons of simplicity and effectiveness, the Regiment Blade is ideally suited as a personal self defense knife. With little to no training ordinary people can wield this powerful tool. The colonel blade is also an ideal concealed carry weapon carried comfortably inside the waistband (IWB).

    I've been looking for an EDC knife for a while, there's so many choices out there. As soon as I saw this and went back and watched the videos with Al from previous years this is a no brainer, nothing else like it out there that I can see and the price is right in the range that I was looking to spend. I ordered one the other day and just got my email today that it has been shipped, can't wait to get it!!! Thank you!!!!

    Had the original Colonel Blade but someone figured they needed mine worse than me and stole mine.
    Just ordered the Regiment Blade (fixed blade). I like to wear mine horizontal on my belt so I'll remove the clip from the sheath and run a few zip ties through the holes in the sheath so I can wear it the way that works for me.
    I've done this with my Cold Steel push knife and a few other fixed blade knife sheaths. Works fantastic!

    Tempted to order one but ~$100 for 8Cr14MoV is a bit questionable. I get that it's a self defense knife and steel doesn't really matter a whole lot in that kind of scenario as long as it's sharp, but it would be nice to see a slightly lower price tag or a slightly better steel for the knife. I'm between this and a Ka-Bar TDI with a custom kydex sheath, but I may go with the Regiment Blade as it would be about the same price or a bit cheaper than a TDI + custom sheath.

    Serrated edged blades are harder to sharpen. Also, in a self defense knife, it can get caught on clothing. I used to prefer a serrated edged blade for defense because it causes more tissue damage, but then I did research.

      Serrated edges are for work, not for fighting. A tiny increase in cutting power for auch higher chance of getting stuck isn't a trade off that makes much sense. It's a cool idea, I pretty much always carry a knife as a support for my side arm. Someone grabs my shooting arm, I've got an option with my off hand as well.

    I think the knife is good for someone who is not comfortable with a gun. But if someone has a gun, CS spray is much better a bridge between fists and a gun.
    Is there any realistic situation you would want to pull out a knife vs pull out a gun when they are drawn in the same way? I don’t really buy the reasons here.
    Something like the Clinch Knife that you can pull while in a grapple makes sense. Someone can pin your arms down and that knife can still be reached/used since it is accessed below the belt. This deployment does not make sense over a gun or CS Spray.
    Has there ever been a recorded self defense situation where a knife like this was used successfully and LEGALLY?

    • @FilmFlam-8008
      @FilmFlam-8008 Год назад

      @Karol Krawczyk and then you lose your pistol because the person grabs the gun with two hands. And because knifes cause injuries that kill much later through blood loss, the other person may die in 30 minutes, but you are shot and killed on the spot.
      That’s reality.
      Edit: for clarity, if someone has two hands on your gun and you were not open carrying on a level 2-3 holster, you are going to lose the gun if it’s not your full concentration with both hands. you will lose that leverage battle. If you have a gun in a basic level 1 retention holster and the other person even knows you have a gun, you are already doing something VERY wrong.
      Any situation where you can postulate your knife being better is one where likely you could have legally prevented it with CS spray. If you pull a knife on someone, that is a deadly threat and you can be shot.

    • @FilmFlam-8008
      @FilmFlam-8008 Год назад

      @Karol Krawczyk
      Again though, you are talking about situations where a police officer is wrestling for his gun with a REQUIRED open carry level 3 holster and thick duty belt capable of holding over 150 lbs (and hopefully a second or third Gen KBAR TDI with a locking sheath). That is much different than any normal civilian that will usually be CC and if the other person knows you have a gun, you are already doing something wrong.
      And even with the cops, a taser or CS spray would likely have prevented the fight for the gun (or the gun should have been pulled and used prior).
      So as I stated, even theoretically, a CS spray is a better choice than a knife for 99% of all situations. It is legal to use in more situations, non-lethal, prevents wrestling for a gun, and if you did something wrong, you can apologize later without handcuffs.
      If you are fighting in a car, yes, a knife like the TDI is better and more accessible than a gun depending on how it is positioned on the belt, but again, how the hell did you get in that situation in the first place?
      Knives for self defense are mostly imaginary situations better avoided. Knives for attacking are real, but in that case you are the bad guy.

Something more traditionally pocket knife like without spring assist is a better fit for my daily carry "extra sharp" knife.

      @@FilmFlam-8008 I live in WA state and have carried an OTF double edged Benchmade (autocrat?) for years. I love showing it off especially to cops. I also have a karambit style fixed blade similar to the Regiment, they've seen that too.
      WA must be pretty lenient

      In WA, you cannot conceal carry a dirk or dagger, but you can own it or open carry it. You cannot own a switchblade.
      If the cops actually care or enforce laws is a different thing though.

    If you have the time and reason to draw a knife to defend yourself, you have the time and reason to draw your firearm. Knives are not a good tool for non-LEO citizens in 99.99999% of self defense situation. Save the time, belt space, and money on something better. Tourniquet and med training > centerline knife and knife fighting training, change my mind.

      @@ProfessionalPepper if you are getting attacked by a maniac who is trying to cause brutal harm with his fist. This will stop all that quick. You don’t always have to hide behind a gun in every situation.The average citizen does not need a gun for every situation that’s for sure. With how fast you can draw this knife would end any close encounter in a split second. I have 2 of the knives and would have more if they didn’t sell out. I’m a very active person and practice with both guns and knives a lot. It’s no substitute for a gun but it has its purpose and can be very deadly in the right hands and right situation. I can draw with this knife and create a serious slash to a face or chest in 1 second without really any real effort. This knife is crazy, and automatically creates knife wounds like as if you’re an expert.

      @@mr.sphlictor9649 it is not legal to draw a knife in a fist fight, unless there is a severe disparity of size/strength/age. If you are legally allowed to draw a knife, you are legally allowed to draw a gun. A gun is way more effective than a 3" knife in any encounter. A muscle raged lunatic that is charging you can disarm your knife almost as easy as being able to disarm your gun. A knife is also easier to deflect than a bullet. Don't get me started on the legal fight you will endure if you choose a knife and slash someone's face. You will be definately be criminally prosecuted with the same legal threat as using a gun and then will face a most certain Civil suit which will most likely result in a loss. Slashing and repeatedly stabbing someone shows malice and anger towards someon moreso than pulling a trigger.

      @@ProfessionalPepper if anyone puts their hands on me period they are in for a rude awakening. Gun or knife doesn’t matter. Don’t really care if courts got involved or not because I will only use weapons when protecting myself. This knife is the pinnacle of knives and has its place with me for sure. There is no way someone can deflect or take this knife from me unless it’s element of surprise but I can almost guarantee this thing has a 95 Percent stab rate if you are in within 4 feet away from me don’t care who you are.

    This guy is a clown🤡🤡🤡. First rule of a knife fight is, somebody's getting stabbed. The second rule of the knife fight is never focus on the arm holding the knife, he got a little buddy that can reach five feet in opposite direction. Whatever the hell this thing is you can't switch hands easily.
