One thing I loved about Norm is that he never made fun of his friends when others expected him to. His bit on the Bob Saget roast was genius. If someone expected Norm to perform a different way, he did the opposite. Every single time. From the roast, to the Iowa State Fair, to his podcast and show. Even when Spade had him on his show and they wanted him to blast OJ and he refused to do it and claimed he was only guilty of being the “greatest man to ever carry a football.” One thing I did notice was that he LOVED Nick. On his podcast and show they had him on and he was so good. Norm loved Nick and you can tell it was mutual. Norm is my #1 comedian of all time. Yes that’s subjective, I love Carlin, and Pryor and Chappell and I really like Theo. But no one could get me laughing like Norm. The best of the best.

Norm is hands down my favorite comic. His style of stand up and his delivery is absolutely hilarious to me. I wish I could have had a chance to see him live.
He had moments where he was just insightful & genuine though. Like on certain topics or when he complimented someone. When he gave compliments, he dropped the facade because he wanted it to be clear that what he was saying was from the heart. He was a wise man.
The clip from The View demonstrated that Norm is hero. His calculated disruption of the The View's format transcends comedy. Norm was an honest soul and a generous showman. One of a kind.

That 'The View' interview is legend. I was watching it in real time. He had a short lived sitcom on ABC. That's why they had him on. He just tore the couch cushions up and scattered them all over the room. They didn't know what to do with him. "Let's talk about football!" "No, let's talk about MANslaughter!" lol RIP, Norm. They broke the mold.

At one point he stopped dancing, looked directly at me, smiled, ate his cigarette and dove like he was crowd surfing a bunch of ghosts and belly flopped the dance floor. 😆 He instantly got up from the ground and kept dancing. 🤣 It was hilarious!

Man that Reno story broke my heart, I teared up. R. I. P. NORM I didn’t even know you were sick 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
So heartwarming hearing him talk about his friend. R.I.P NORM
One thing I loved about Norm is that he never made fun of his friends when others expected him to. His bit on the Bob Saget roast was genius. If someone expected Norm to perform a different way, he did the opposite. Every single time. From the roast, to the Iowa State Fair, to his podcast and show. Even when Spade had him on his show and they wanted him to blast OJ and he refused to do it and claimed he was only guilty of being the “greatest man to ever carry a football.”
One thing I did notice was that he LOVED Nick. The best of the best.
norm + theo + nick would have been a killer trio-podcast!
Nick's commentary (s**t talking) during Theo's epic storytelling is a hilarious combo.
So EPIC!!!
Can't even put into words how much Norm meant to me. Had the same reaction as Nick. Buddy posted it into our group chat and I just started sobbing. You were one of a kind Norm and I'll miss ya forever.
Theo von I just want to say thank you for what you do man it’s greatly appreciated
Mangrately appreciated, even.
Norm was the only celebrity that passed that actually hurt my heart.
The reno dream is soo sad
That’s my dream now
The way theo let's nick vent here is awesome obviously had alot to get off he's chest. Good shit
it’s rough when theos jokes don’t hit lol..nick is always great
He seemed a little uncomfortable with the grief but maybe not
8:57 "They would be up from the news to a milk carton in like a week" Lol, best joke went under the radar.
No it was Nick’s long pause looking at the camera then saying “dead or alive” that had me haha
what does that mean? we don't have missing people on our milk cartons in the uk.
Walters saying "YOU'RE supposed to be FUNNY!!" and not even realizing that the vast majority of the world would watch this and think it's one of the funniest things to EVER happen on The View, honestly just makes it that much funnier!!! So good!! Norm was 1of a kind, un- fuk with-able, gold standard comedians to ever bless this earth with his unique brand of humor. I don't really look up to celebrities like pop stars or actors , but there are a handful of comedic geniuses out there that I'll be genuinely sad to see go. He was at the top of that list and the world is a slightly less pleasant place to be in his absence.
not only did she not realize that, she didn't care !...basically told Norm to "stay in his lane"...."don't create trouble now, funnny man ! do your job !"
@@alwynsam5349 The people on that terrible show are so out of touch with reality.
I don't even want to know what makes Barbara Walters laugh. I imagine that when she smiles a puppy dies, or maybe it's the other way around.
@@Katya_Lastochka LOL :D
I LOVE hearing stories about Norm. They’re just as funny as watching Norms bits.
Norm will never die. I still cry when he makes me laugh....miss him so much!
R .I.P. Norm! Thanks for All the Laughs &Smiles. Best Medicine
When your favourite memory of a friend is a RUclips clip I already watched.
Best friends forever.
This guy is full of shit. He wasn't friends with Norm.
@@BristolMatt Norm always said he never loved a fella like he loved Matt st2 so i totally believe you
@@gingerbaker_toad696 dude I'm not some norm fan boy, I'm just telling you that I smell bullshit in this guys story. Watch it again with an open mind and you might spot it as well.
@@BristolMatt i would say most hollywood friendships are very surface level as well and i dont believe Norm really would have moved somewhere because of Nick Swardson.. 🤣
But to just deny any kind of friendship between the two isnt right either
Because we all know what the most valuable ship really is
@@BristolMatt you must be really young and not know who Nick is.😂 he has been rolling with Adam Sandlers crew for quite a while. He's in like 20 Adam Sandler movies. He doesn't need to lie about being friends with another comedian, you ding dong.😂
I feel u Nick, I didn't even met the fella but his passing hit me so hard I literally couldn't work for 2 days.
People will be telling Norm stories for generations to come.
I got to meet him 1 time in a casino. He was so nice and talked to me for over a half hour and didn't mind me asking questions. He lost and I won a whole $200. He got up and said "at least you won some toilet paper" and hugged me as we both laughed as he walked away ❤️
Nicks Norm impression is actually SO fucking good 😭😭😂
The facial expressions lol
I'm sure Norm took the gun joke that far just to make people get mad at Swardson. Exactly his style.
I deeply respect norm for his commitment to himself. There's a solitude in committing to long jokes that will only be understood later on, or even after your death. His ability to be him fully and truthfully always is so commendable. I miss him and hope wherever he is he's better off.
Norm McDonald is a true legend, a true friend and a sweet heart for protecting everyone from his misery. R.i.p
Man it stills hurt , norm passing .
Norm is hands down my favorite comic. His style of stand up and his delivery is absolutely hilarious to me. I wish I could have had a chance to see him live.
Quote by Charlie Chaplin: “In the end, everything is a gag.” This should be the title of the Norm's biography.
Very true!
Fuck if that’s not true
Didn't he choke to death?
He had moments where he was just insightful & genuine though. Like on certain topics or when he complimented someone. When he gave compliments, he dropped the facade because he wanted it to be clear that what he was saying was from the heart. He was a wise man.
The clip from The View demonstrated that Norm is hero. His calculated disruption of the The View's format transcends comedy. Norm was an honest soul and a generous showman. One of a kind.
They claim to be half journalists, but they were just being aggressive partisans. Norm said he didn't intend to do the Clinton bit, but they brought it on themselves.
Legend! I will always feel like he is still with us
This video is very touching. RIP Norm. A true Legend
Man, all those guys (Spade, Sandler, Norm, Nick) - all legends. I hate that I’m just now coming around to Norm. Should have given this guy a binge watch long ago!
I envy the fact that you likely still have so many great Norm gems to uncover.
There is so much to watch
I never knew Swardson was close with Norm. This was a great clip, thanks for sharing.
That 'The View' interview is legend. I was watching it in real time. He had a short lived sitcom on ABC. That's why they had him on. He just tore the couch cushions up and scattered them all over the room. They didn't know what to do with him.
"Let's talk about football!" "No, let's talk about MANslaughter!" lol
RIP, Norm. They broke the mold.
3:44 the perfect one second impression of a norm reaction. I saw norm for a second. I’ll lose a lot of sleep for every norm story anyone wants to share.
When Nick was on Norms vid podcast that was a hilarious epsiode. You could tell they understood each other.
Norm was the best. And he was the ultimate troll on The View. The way he punked those sanctimonious cows will always remain a classic.
A couple years back I worked at a nightclub in Vegas doing security and I was posted at Nicks table on the dance floor. Towards the middle of the night he was up on the platform where the dancers do their sets. At one point he stopped dancing, looked directly at me, smiled, ate his cigarette and dove like he was crowd surfing a bunch of ghosts and belly flopped the dance floor. 😆 He instantly got up from the ground and kept dancing. 🤣 It was hilarious!
Norm was a real genuine person and my favorite comedian I miss him constantly don't let his style go away he was amazing brilliant and witty
This clip made weirdly comfortable
Norm’s phone going off during that interview is forever going to be a highlight of my lifetime. Really miss this man.
Rip professor MacDonald. Theo definitely owns a doghouse.
From the University of Science There
We’ve lost so many greats, but Norm just hits so much harder
I love Nick's stories with Norm and how he imitates him
Nicks stories of norm are the greatest. Spades as well
Thank you for sharing Norm MacDonald stories.
If anyone hasn’t seen the Norm Macdonald Live podcast with Nick you need to, it’s one of the most hilarious interviews of all time. RIP Norm.
The Mangrate ad is my favorite moment from any NML episode
Nine eleven.
@@APAL880 what a terrible name for an airline!
Reminds me of that tradegy
"All right, manslaughter" put me over the edge. And it wouldn't have been nearly as funny if those hairdos hadn't have been so clueless.
I think Norm was trolling the sh*t out of Nick about Reno which makes this all the funnier.
His last joke to make him feel bad and he's laughing it up lol
that first story was actually really sweet always supportive for his friends
9:00 Theo busying out the “GTAC” 🧬 reference. Oh man, this boi has got serious range!
Yeah what the hell is that
@@danwroy GTAC stands for the building blocks of DNA: Guanine, Thymine, Adenine, and Cytosine.
I really love Nick Swardson. He plays really quirky understated roles in a lot of films (much like Norm did, but in a different way of course). Would love to see more of Nick. His style of humour is good
I like hearing these stories about Norm. I usually don’t care about celebrities, but for some reason Norms loss is an actual loss to me. True GOAT 🐐
I agree, for some reason losing Norm hit hard on me.
