I love this car seat for the price point. I love my nuna because of the easy installation but for the price this one is really great!!

We’re in need of a lightweight convertible car seat for our 2.5 years old as she’s growing out of her Cosco Serena. We were considering Graco Contender Go, but we couldn’t find it anywhere! What other similar car seats would you suggest? We go back and forth between the Bay Area to Chicago quite often, and my kid sleeps most of the time on the 4+ hrs plane ride. So Wayb Pico isnt really an option. Help!!!😅

My question is how do you adjust the seat in rear facing if it isn't level? With a towel under the foot? Or is there a feature to adjust the recline?

Thanks for this super helpful review. I can't figure out the difference between the Contender GO, Contender Slim, and Contender 65. Do you know what the difference is? The graco website has no indication of what makes them different, but they do have slightly different pricepoints, so I figured there must be something?

Per the Graco website, the main differences would be the the product width, depth, and cup holders.
      WIDTH
      65: 20.25 in
      Slim & Go: 18.9 in
      DEPTH
      65: 17.25 in
      Slim & Go: 21.5 in
      CUPHOLDERS
      65: One built-in
      Slim: One removable
      Go: Two removable

Can you add the century drive on vs the graco admiral? 🤔 🙏

Is it easy to loosen the latch strap for removal from the vehicle. I prefer and we have the Omni (sp?) seatbelt type latches you described but I have wrestled with this cheaper type. We would be using this car seat for travel.

So I find that the trick is not to overtighten. (I do that ALL THE TIME so it's much easier said than done but that is always going to make the removal harder when you overtighten). The other trick is if you do over tighten you can usually put a knee into the seat carefully and push it more toward the vehicle to create slack in the latch belt so that you can have the pliability to loosen it more easily. I think you would be fine as long as you didn't go CRAZY getting it in super rigidly tight. Like You want to make sure it's not moving an inch side to side and forward but there is a happy medium between it moving and it being tightened to the point of no return. This is a great question tho and I appreciate someone who gets where I am coming from. Thank you for watching :)

Hello! How’s this car seat compare to the safety first jive 2 in 1 for a 2.5 yo for traveling? Thank you!

So I have not reviewed that one from looking at it though I see the Jive is a manual rethread harness and this one is easier to adjust with the headrest that moves the shoulder straps. Considering they are similarly priced you'd probably be better off with Graco but again I have not seen the Jive in person to really give a thorough assessment of that one. I just hate manual rethread harnesses but it certainly isn't the end of the world. Just a preference thing :)

Does anyone's toddler get hot in this car seat? Mine is fine in her other Graco but it is a more expensive version. I bought this one for my car and was on a budget but in this car seat my baby gets hot even with the AC on blast. It's like the back doesn't allow any airflow.

The closed belt path is WAY better for airplane installation because you don’t have the seat belt buckle right behind the baby’s back

This is an excellent point! One I hadn't considered. Good call.
