    My first ever girlfriend and I used to listen to this endlessly. We even saw them in concert, super small venue. I still listen to this often and somewhat recently sent a link for this to her. We talk, infrequently. Friends in as much as we’re able, separated by time and space. The lover that got away. We’ve each married, and have kids, our own families and we have no regrets, just these memories, bitter sweet, that persist through time, but it’s like honeysuckle on the wind. It comes and goes, you can’t get it back, you can only hope for its return never knowing the “if” or “when”. My first love, and I was hers. She’s in Germany now, where she grew up. Her English has gotten worse over the years. But still… 🖤🖤🖤

    Think this is one of the most underrated songs of the 90s, it was awesome, and perfectly describes many relationships. And I'm not normally a guitar guy, but even I can tell that this guitar slays.

  • @maevele
    @maevele 9 лет назад +38

    Back in 90 something, I found a mix tape at the thrift shop, unlabeled, with this song on it over and over. It became my favorite but I never knew who it was by, and forgot it by the time I could have found it on the internet. Totally having a moment.

    • @ambersundays1267

      Maevele Straw Do you know the other songs that were on that mix tape?

    • @keliaydlotte1483
      @keliaydlotte1483 5 лет назад +3

      I had this song was on a mix tape back in the 90s. My boyfriend at the time said he made it for me special. Turns out this girl that had a crush on him actually made the tape. He always said they were besties. I found out they had been dating a couple years in secret because he was embarrassed of her looks. He was awful to her, he had her give him rides to my place and make her wait outside for several hours and sometimes over night. One day she came barging into my house asking why we were listening to the tape she made for him... omg i was like uh, this bitch totally loves you on a deep level because this mix tape is all hard to find but bad ass music. This shit took time.. I will never put that kind of effort into you.. tell me why his girlfriend stuck up for him and called me all sorts of shit? She spread wild rumors about me, I sucked 13 guys off in the middle of a club while on ecstacy and let them blow all over my face.. people believed it too. Lol. I let shit go for a while but i eventually started dating her neighbor out of spite and blasting that mix tape on repeat for weeks. I still have that fucking tape and that girl still hates me.

    • @keliaydlotte1483
      @keliaydlotte1483 5 лет назад +3

      And through no fault of my own I ended up seriously dating a different guys she had mega crushes on over the years. I always found out afterwards. This bitch had fine ass male friends. The final guy I ended up marrying like 2 weeks into dating him. That was 10 yrs ago and we are still married and best friends forever.. that bitch still prank calls me to this day! This has been going on from 1993 until now.. Its funny because if this bitch wouldn't of been petty to me over a guy, I'm sure we would be bffs! She has amazing taste in music, friends and has still makes prank calls in her 40s.. they are fucking hilarious too.. Its crazy that someone who has such hateful feelings towards me fills my heart with such joy.

    Grunge kinda killed the momentum of the college rock scene of the early 90s. MTV 120 Minutes on Sunday nights (if memory serves) was can’t-miss tv. All my bands and new ones I’d come to love week to week. In NY we had WDRE but on a good night - when the stars aligned - I could get Real Rock Radio FM 106.3 ‘FM 106.3 - Modern Rock at the Jersey Shore.’ Great times. Glad to know they happened.

    I saw this band at the Fastlane in Asbury Park, NJ. I bought their CD at the bar. I used to play this song over and over. I miss the pre-grunge music of the 90's. I loved grunge too, but their was some great bands that got eclipsed by the Seattle
    sound explosion from the fall of 91.

      "pre-grunge"....😂 I like the terminology. When this album was originally released you would have to look for the CD in the college/modern rock section at Tower Records. Thirty years later Tower Records is gone as I'd the modern rock section(it now falls under "Alternative") but this song still rocks and the lyrics take on an even deeper meaning.

    Definitely put this on a mixtape for my ex the summer b4 Freshman year (‘91/‘92). I live in Boston & my fav station back then was 95.5 WBRU out of RI (Brown Univ.). I called in to get this played & recorded myself on air on that mixtape. Ahhh the feels. ☺️🖤🖤

    My buddies cousin played bass for them. I got to hang back stage at the old 930 club in DC and we hung out the next day. I didn't get to play as I had hoped as I was a struggling guitar player and wanted to play with them. They were great people. Sharky was a cool guy. They signed a poster for me, I laid it on a bed in our spare bedroom to hang the next day and one of my dogs slipped in and actually pissed on it, while it was on the bed like she knew I liked it. I was so pissed. I hope they are doing well.

      Laura B(her stage name in the late 80s early 90's; in place of her real last name (Barcelecivec, or something even harder to spell/pronounce) basically got screwed by David Geffen when the label signed them right before their second album. She didn't have much success after this band. She
      did some solo work and I heard she even did an album with old They Eat Their Own demos from the 80s. This song achieved it's biggest success reaching nearly ONE MILLION plays (😂 not an actual statistic😂) in my Ford Escort GT back when my high school girlfriend and I broke up
