The scary thing is, you can tell he's going insane. as time progresses, he starts to incorporate more sound effects into his speech, he mis-pronounces things more often, and laughs at random. he then begins acting as two personalities, and it's glaringly obvious he is not in a great state of mind.

Yes, yes they do. Not only is it edible, its very easy to make safe for consumption, and is relatively nutritious, though lacking in fat and protein. As such, finding a good supply of it is a great find in a survival situation

I’ve noticed that the “we” started after the aurora explosion and probably by him starting to get infected, one of the last emotions he has before the explosion is anger but when he gets the sea moth he develops captain, he develops the more edgy side later on, so combined with the radiation not being patched in this episode he gets more and more irradiated, combined with isolation and disease he would make personalities based on what he has had experienced and because he hates the planet he would develop something that hates everything, an edgy personality to mask fear, etc, but they only really develop under their own conditions
