Loving the dining reviews lately! 💕 Any chance you guys could do a Cape May Café Character Breakfast review? It's never really talked about or reviewed (i know it recently just came back). I am trying to decide between staying close to our hotel (Swan) and just taking the boat over to Beach Club for Cape May Cafe or walking from International gateway to front of Epcot, taking monorail to contemporary, and having breakfast at Chef Mickey's...but that's a huge time eater in a scheduled park day. I've been to Chef Mickey's for breakfast so I know what that is like...Cape May Café is the mystery!
Cape May was fun, and the buffet was very good. Something for everyone. Character interactions are fun too. I've never been tempted by Chef Mickeys due to the cacafony of noise coming from it- being located in the hotel canyon concourse doesn't help.
@@dannyobrien8314 Thanks! Is it correct that Mickey is not at Cape May Cafe? not a deal breaker for us but seems odd all the others are listed but Mickey isn't.
Mickey is not at Cape May, but it was still such a good experience! The characters stopped by multiple times and lots of options in the buffet. We had an earlier morning reservation.
I've only eaten there once, on my honeymoon, for dinner, with a window seat, during the fireworks. All things considered, it was the best part of that failed marriage. 😜 I don't know the menu now, but back in 1999 I had prime rib paired with a port wine. Never before or since have I liked port wine, but it was fantastic at that meal. All in all, I think it's worth trying once, and I would go back again before I'd go back to Victoria & Albert's (I just don't have the palate to enjoy food that expensive).
I had a reservation here about a decade ago but had to cancel due to a flight getting cancelled due to the weather that bumped our trip back a day and was unable to reschedule. Haven’t had the opportunity to eat there yet and it’s hard to rationalize the price now, but it sounds like it’s worth at least to check off a bucket list items of eating at the castle.
I have not ate there with my family in a long time. So thank you for sharing and reviewing your visit. I was really disappointed that they got rid of all the Knights of armor standing at each corner of the dining room. They were real and all the boys were in all looking at them. Such ashame they removed them..😢
Commenting before watching but my wife and I went there a few years ago and the service was fantastic! The princesses were lovely, our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food however we were very disappointed with. Hopefully that has changed because we would love to go back
The West Wing at Be Our Guest is incredibly small. Adds to the atmosphere, but I didn't realize how lucky we were to get a seat there until I entered the room.
Same up until this point. I started checking MDE around 10:30-11:00 and that's when spots started opening so you have to act fast and make sure you are in Magic Kingdom that day.
Awesome review! I have done breakfast and lunch both prcovid. Lunch was in 2018 and the options were totally different. My almost 3 yr old princess loved it and I loved our server who said if she picked nuggets or Mac n cheese there was no charge for her meal. Well that was perfect because she is the queen of Mac n Cheese. Don't know if we were sprinkled with extra pixie dust that day or what but that was a wonderful suprise.
I loved it when I went at night years ago. My daughter went y to I Bibbidi Bobbidi Botuque a few hours before and it was so great for her. They had prime rib and only really bad chefs screw that up! It was yummy. Would love to see the other princess dining Craig mentioned

Great video. Great team! I don't know if anyone asked but I am sure there must be a time limit? How long does the experience last until the princesses and cast members scoot you out? Thank you.
I’ve eaten here 2x yrs ago . The food was mediocre then too . But , the character experience has changed , and I thought it was so much better back then . The fairy godmother had a sorta balcony that she talked , sang , told jokes from , it was like a song a long /show with her . She walked around at some point too . And the other characters were Cinderella , the prince , and the girl and boy mice . .You met Cinderella in the foyer (like they did ) and got your picture taken. And then you were given nice 5x7 picture in a cute cardboard frame before you left ( like at chef Mickey ) . It made more sense to me , given its Cinderella castle .
We ate there on March 1 and it was Awesome. I took my two granddaughters and we ate at 7:30pm so the fireworks went off while we were there. I asked for a window table and got it. It was a Magical night for the girls as they had done the Bibide Bobide Boutique that afternoon. The cost was well worth the memories.
Sounds like if Be Our Guest adds Belle and a photo op with the Beast, it would be perfect. And Cinderella's needs to have more memorable food to be perfect. Both have great ambiance for sure. Good assessment.
I've eaten here twice and never brought a kid, lol. I just enjoy it...very surprised you thought Be Our Guest had better food because BOG fell off a cliff from the first time we ate there (when it first went prix fixe it was amazing, but now?). Dinner is the way to go at CRT, it really does make a difference in the atmosphere.
I went a few years ago. I guess I'm not particular about my food or perhaps reviews tempered my expectations. But my food and experience was wonderful. Though I will say that perhaps with that price point, the food better be perfect (i'd have probably sent the coffee dessert back too).
It's not on the same level as characters making up for a subpar buffet, but they definitely have room for improvement on food. Probably a chef mixup could elevate it a bit more, but then there'd be more of a fight between families who want the experience and foodies who want a fine dining meal.
Just for context lets pick an average sit down restaurant at Disney: Ale & Compass. An app, entree, and dessert without tax and gratuity is approx $50. So for an extra $29 a person, you get slightly upgraded food and dining in the castle with the princesses. It would seem the value here is quite good relatively speaking.
Definitely looks likes something you are paying for as an experience. Also found it interesting that the Dis and another well known Disney RUclips channel seem to agree that the food is ok to good but not really qorth the price tag.
ahh remember the days of King Stefans and the Major Domo pie. back when you could order what you wanted no prixe fix and lunch was cheaper😢 We cant justify any of these high ticket dinners sadly.
I actually think this is cheaper than it used to be pre-panini. I thought when I've looked into it previously it was almost $100 per person at the adult pricing. I could be wrong, but the pricing wasn't that much cheaper when we did it Dec 2021 and Cinderella only came out for a moment at that point. Food options look better than ours was as well. Part of me is torn on if we give it another try now that all the princesses are back or stick with trying Crystal Palace for breakfast to see Pooh & the gang.
The character interaction was great and each interaction was about twice as long as the video clip because I didn't start fast enough and usually stopped early so there is a lot of value in that. Tough call.
It looks like the food has improved. The last time we ate there was September 2020 (without any face characters) and the food was dreadful. It's the only place we have sent food back as it was inedible. We havent been back even though we use to eat there a few times a year for the past decade. Breakfast is still ok.
I didn't try Erica's as they didn't put enough gnocchi in it for me to consciously take any way, but I tried Ryno's and it was alright. I think the fish needs to be reinvented. Appetizers and desserts (outside of the plant-based one) were solid.
It was decent. Only thing we missed on the menu was chicken and then the pork dish that was marked specifically for the 50th anniversary and something we wanted to avoid in case it leaves or changes in a few weeks.
Craig has it totally right at the end... you have to know yourself with this one. I've been there several times over the years (as a table of adults with no kids) and we absolutely loved it for the princesses and atmosphere. The food has never been anything better than just okay. It's one of those cases that Disney knows they dont need to make it better because people will always pay to eat in the castle. The character interaction can't be beat (and saves time waiting in line to meet characters) and at least the food isn't AWFUL. If you dont think that's enough for you, then the price tag isn't worth it. But if you know your kids or even you yourself would lose it for the princesses, it's a 100% go for it, at least once.
I will say, it wasn't just the kids losing it. I feel like I have more adults than kids staring at the princesses in the background of photos and videos. They must just be using the kids as cover.
Great review but sad that they have a prixe fix menu everywhere now. Some families that go to Disney don't have a lot of money and they already spent a fortune to be there. An al-a-cart menu would be more family friendly and affordable, Lots of little girls would love to be in the castle and see their princesses. Pretty sad Disney. But enjoyed your review. I've been there without children too but wanted to see the inside of the castle. (before it was prixe fix)
It's a tough balance. Nowadays if you have princesses and a non-prix-fixe menu you'll get the people who come in only for appetizers or desserts, maybe an entree, and spend more time waiting for the princesses without flipping tables. It's not financially feasible for everyone, but it makes the most sense.
@@DISUnlimited So what is wrong with that? That is my point. Disney is expensive enough so why make eating in the castle out of reach? Not only that a prix fix menu is way too much food for most. So you're wasting money eating there. It's just a money grab for people that already are stretching their budget. You walk around snacking all day and then have to eat a prix fix menu with tons of food. I am so against all these prix fix menu changes. Not a fan.
There is no amount of product that could keep my hair in control under a hat and I prefer wearing one in Florida sun since I wear glasses. It would be ruder for me to have my messy hair looking like a psycho in a nice restaurant versus the flat cap.

I need that Ratatouille button down shirt in my life!!!!!😍🤩😍
It's called Shirtatouille on RSVLTS!
Definitely looks likes something you are paying for as an experience.
Also found it interesting that the Dis and another well known Disney RUclips channel seem to agree that the food is ok to good but not really qorth the price tag.
ahh remember the days of King Stefans and the Major Domo pie. back when you could order what you wanted no prixe fix and lunch was cheaper😢
We cant justify any of these high ticket dinners sadly.
Food everywhere went downhill in 2020
I didn't try Erica's as they didn't put enough gnocchi in it for me to consciously take any way, but I tried Ryno's and it was alright. I think the fish needs to be reinvented. Appetizers and desserts (outside of the plant-based one) were solid.
@@DISUnlimited I really enjoyed the salmon dish but that was pre-pandemic.
Its worth it only once 😊
That menu looks so much better than the big plate of mush they serve at akershus
It was decent. Only thing we missed on the menu was chicken and then the pork dish that was marked specifically for the 50th anniversary and something we wanted to avoid in case it leaves or changes in a few weeks.
As a boy mom I’m not sure we will ever pay the prices to eat here so it was nice to see a review.
@@DISUnlimited i will definitely always be one of the ones losing it
The braised beef appetizer sounded horrible.
Not a fan.
Call me old fashioned, but I wish men took their hats off when dining in public. Also, calling pictures portaits is so cute!
There is no amount of product that could keep my hair in control under a hat and I prefer wearing one in Florida sun since I wear glasses. It would be ruder for me to have my messy hair looking like a psycho in a nice restaurant versus the flat cap.
Why is Sleeping Beauty southern?
So mad, I wasn’t able to get a table.
Most of the time, if I go to this Princess Meal, I hope that the 4 Princesses are the following.
1: Rapunzel
2: Merida
3: Aurora
4: Jasmine
