- We have owned our van for 2 full seasons but the big question is, how has it stood the test of time....? Do we still love it as much as much as when we picked it up and more importantly, what has gone wrong....?

Aw thank you 🥰 definitely not sad, more enthusiastic 👍🙂 we remember doing the same before we got ours although it was mainly just the promotional video from Auto-Trail at the time plus a couple of short dealer videos, that's one of the main reasons we started our channel to help others looking at the Adventure so your comment made our day - thank you 🥰

Great review after 2 seasons and clearly the van meets your needs. Congrats on hitting the 1000+ subs here's to more so Caroline can retire 😀. I will have to go back to the older posts and catch up as only followed for the back half of the year. Great inspirational channel and helps us with ideas now we have our van (another manufacture). 👍

Another great review, totally agree about the hinges on the wardrobe and the LED’s are very bright including the over slide door Truma panel, these can be sorted with a simple clip on cover 😉 I think the seats are higher as AT add the swivel to them which increases the height. Keep up the vlogs your both great to watch 🙌

Still awaiting delivery of our similar van (Expedition 67), it’s lovely to see this 2 season rundown of the ups and downs of your van. It reassures me and Jackie that our decision in choosing this type of van is still the best decision!! Great review. Also, what I’m looking forward to is sleeping in the pop top during the summer with the vents all open, I imagine it is quite cool by comparison to sleeping in an enclosed van, with excellent airflow?
Thank you, we wanted to share our experiences of using the van rather than just a brand new review so thank you for the feedback 🥰 Yes the pop top is fantastic for airflow, lots of different ways to configure it with the vent and windows which have fly screen mesh on them too so you can control the temperature without getting bitten 😂👍
Loved the video. Completely agree with the lack of another shelf in the back of the van. The wardrobe is a pain. It is not just the doors not opening fully but also the baton down the middle. We are thinking of replacing with a roller door so having complete easy access. Also the special padded cushions that fit in the back windows fit perfectly in the table cupboard, one above and one below.

Hi Both. Thanks for your vlogs, just started to play catch up on my favourite channels after month of distractions, yours one of my first! We ordered our van 2019, collected year later due to lockdown production. I still believe it is the best van as still wouldn't chose another van for our family or even most other people's needs. We did have more serious Ugly than you though ! Put right eventually, I hope and am monitoring, but things like gas tank and seats (long but interesting story). Would be interested to know what forums you use to compare notes for such discussions on our van ? Now to play catch up on your other vlogs!
Aw thank you for watching us first 🥰 we know what you mean, so busy recently we are struggling to watch much too! There are 2 great groups on Facebook very useful for chatting to other owners. One dedicated to the Adventure 55 & 65 models plus the vline owners group, that is very useful for technical advice and help with issues etc. Both worth joining 😁👍
Great review. I have the Elddis CV40 as I think you know and I have had some of the same issues with regard to the ugly. Well done with the 1k subscribers. You can retire now Caroline. Iain...you will have to continue to work. Never mind. The Autotrail really is a lovely van. My van is going in this week to have a list of warranty repairs carried out. Still love my van, despite the issues. No plans to replace it just yet. Hopefully doing some European travel in the new year. COVID willing! Thanks for another entertaining video. Ha ha thank you Mollie insisted on being in the video by climbing on us and yapping as she could hear us by the van 😂 We really liked the CV40 and had it shortlisted when we bought our van but wanted the pop top in the end, be very interested to watch your European adventures in it, we plan to do the same! 😁👍 P.S. hope you are feeling better 🥰

Hi, great review thank you! Just a question. Doesn't it bother you the fact that the toilet has no window? I mean, my partner would never allow me to use it for the number 2. 😅
Really interesting video. As you have been to Scotland recently do you know if the insect screens keep out midges. I think they probably won’t.
Thank you Jennifer 🥰 Good question reference the midges, we thought the same so tried it but can confirm they get through still 😂 mostly from waiting on the other side until we shut the door then get in as they stick on the other side of the fly screen 😬 We do have a good tip for midges though that we will share soon 😁👍
@@VantasticAdventures Will be interested to hear that. I have had some terrible times with midges over the years but keep going back to Scotland for more. Fortunately they are not as bad in the Lake District which is where we live.
Hi there, Merry Christmas and great channel, please can I ask how you deal with drying out the pop top on ŵet days....I’ve put my name don for the 68 based on your video🙌🏼 so any advise dealing with the pop top would be greatly appreciated! 🙏🏻
Merry Christmas Mark and congratulations, bet you can't wait! 🥰👍 The pop top is really low maintenance, it's generally dry by the time we leave our stop if you use the vent unless heavy persistent rain. If it's really wet we often just open up again on the drive when it's stopped raining and let it dry out but it does dry really quickly and due to the design most of the rain runs off the roof and disperses 😁
hi, great videos well done , may i ask can the rear seats be used as singles on this longer one ( 65 )
Thanks Neil 🥰 ref the rear seats, not really, we tried it once but it's too short, Iain is 6ft 1 and Caroline about 5ft 7 but still too short unless completed curled up, would be okay in emergencies but not long term.

Are your wind screen blinds thermal.

Thank you Robert 🥰 Don't think our windscreen blinds are thermal, they are Remis and look to be just standard blinds. Although when we looked at the new Expedition model recently we noticed it had different blinds which had silver backing and looked thermal so possibly on the latest vans they have changed this 👍
Very informative as usual. I suppose one ugly is the cost. £££. You could have a lot of luxury holidays for the outlay on these things particularly if it is not being used as a day van and you have to run a car or cars as well. Residual values on some vans are good but they are still expensive.
Thank Nigel 🥰 yes you make a good point, the initial outlay is a big expense and even with good residual values you don’t benefit from that until you sell it so you are spot on 👍 Before we bought our van we agreed it wouldn’t be the only type of holidays we went on so we could still have a cruise, villa etc. too if we wanted but with lock down it meant the van purchases timing was perfect as that was all we could do but expect that to change soon 😂

That would be a great enhancement, not keen on the look of them on our van, once you have yours would be really interested to see what you do 😁👍

You mentioned that after 2 season you still liked your van even when compared to the Expedition 68 with the bike trays. You did say it didn't have somethings that you currently have on yours. What were those things that you would have liked on the Expedition 68?
Hi Paul that's a great question, thank you 🥰 It's mainly the rear lounge, we like to use the van all year round and for us (especially Caroline) the rear lounge works really well if spending more time in the van in the winter months and layout is incredibly important.
Also the Adventure has everything as standard and we love gadgets 😂 Alloys, sat nav, the side awning, LED day time running lights and the standard TV are probably the extras we (mainly Iain 😂) wanted and the all come as standard on the Adventure model although the Expedition can be upgraded so wouldn't put us off 👍
@@VantasticAdventures Cheers for that. I know what you mean about a lounge though i would forgo the lounge for the garage and just use the front area as my lounge while the garage has my bike, wing foil and windsurf gear in it. I'll have to check one in the flesh.
