In the culmination of the ongoing 8-years-long war between Russia and Ukraine, Russia has declared that it recognizes the "people's republics" in Donbas as "independent". This move is meant as the setup to jeopardize years of diplomatic negotiations around the conflict and disrupt peace in the region. I'm not kidding, when I saw this movie in the theater, and Thorin says "I will not part with a SINGLE coin. Not one piece of it." I gasped out loud because I (for some reason) know all the lines from this entire franchise and immediately recognized those words as Smaug's!!!!
@@Wintersmith. Oh, my gosh, that is so sweet!!!! Yeah, it's actually really fun to know all the lines of such an AMAZING STORY! I'm gonna subscribe to you and... add you to my prayer list
@@Wintersmith. Interesting what you say about "getting into the writer's heads" in your description. There's an old video of Richard Armitage whilst he was working in the Robin Hood series years before the Hobbit. I think it was from when they were working on Season 2 and Richard basically predicted a major plot point for his character from Season 3. He wasn't giving away a twist they'd already though of, he was just sharing his own thoughts, but they ended up making it canon. I think that man should turn his hand to Directing/screenwriting, because he's undserstands the characters he plays so much, and even develops them in his head.
These little videos you keep uploading start to reel me back in to the madness that is my Hobbit infatuation. Never left but concentrated on other fandoms for a while and now I'm feeling the need to read a thousand fic of Bagginshield all over again xD Oh how I wish that PJ and co. would have had enough time to plan everything like they did with LOTR. I feel so bad for them for getting stressed out and blamed for some things when they did their best and it's thanks to them that the end result is as good as it is. Absolutely love these videos, if you decide to upload more I'll certainly watch them.
totally agree!! i love these movies but it does feel like there were some things that were off colour. its really makes you wish there wasn't as much stress behind it, outside influences or unrealistically high expectations. if only they had the same time and freedom they had with Lord of the Rings. :'(
AAAAHHHHH I love this! Recently rewatched the trilogy, and Richards acting is just phenomenal as always. Especially with all the dragon sickness bits. Watching this and hearing them talk about being turned into a dragon I IMMEDIATELY thought of Prayers... And what happens when I finish and read your description? You mention Prayers too. x'D Avelera was so ahead of the game. I wish we had more fanfics of Dragon!Thorin.
Richard is really phenomenal! Like even in a bad role he's great! (And yes I may have watching something of questionable quality with him but him? he was unquestionably good) I remember going to Botfa and not believing my eyes because?? Avelera wrote it?? And Am I really watching Prayers on screen? Also arguably, Prayers has better ending than Botfa :3
Interesting.... this means there is also an incident of "dragon sickness" in the Chronicles of Narnia. Eustace, Lucy and Edmund's cousin gets literally turned into a dragon when he takes some treasure in Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
I absolutely agree! Botfa is full of so much crap that actually good bits got lost. But this particular bit is amazing, I love that they dug into mythology
There's a related story to dragon sickness and the Bible. The love of money is the root of all evil. It was written in the Bible that Lucifer once a beautiful cherubim was crafted primarily of gold and gemstones and that his windpipe was made to produce the most beautiful music and sounds ever heard. After the his fall from heaven he became cursed and perhaps this is where the origination of dragon sickness comes from or at least one version of it. Lucifer is referred to as the old dragon and Satan. I read that in Islam men are not permitted to wear gold and in some Christian sects women are prohibited from wearing gold also as a defense against greed.

"for some reason", you don't have to justify yourself, this is a Stan account, I don't judge and in fact love you for knowing all the lines ♥️♥️♥️

Well this was the third film, Smaug said the line in the 2nd one, so of course you should know the line.
@@wHisperis001 yeah let's be snide about a movie that came out 6 years ago.

And let's not forget the unnecessary executive meddling from Warner Bros. because that also didn't help matters any.

Yep. Also worth remembering that both authors were friends and definitely influenced each other, or at least talked over same myths.
@@Wintersmith. They probably both read the same material, tbh. Lewis was into Medieval literature and mythology too.
and remember Jackson wasn't putting his back into this movie and it was still good imagine if he had the motivation to put effort into the movie
Beautiful! More interesting than the actual scenes in the film. Which were good but got lost in all of the crap in botfa.
