People need to understand as soon as you deliberately leave the scene it's officially a crime, all you need to do is stop and check on the victims, and call emergency if needed.

They seem to lack knowledge that room for an "out" could save them in case of someone hitting the car in front of them, a car dying, and more. Too much haste causes waste in a big way. None seem to get the picture.
Where I live now, people routinely Ren red lights, the damn lights are too long. Then, if you go on green, you have to pause or you'll get hit by the folks running red!!!

In my rural neighborhood we have crosswalks that both on the ground in the street and on the stop signs themselves have flashing lights. The mom is 100% correct when saying that more can be done. I agree with her and disagree with the commissioner.

DC and Maryland have really problems with these violations. My brother recently was hit by a bus bye Shady Grove Station in Rockville, and the bus driver didn’t even care. Fortunately, he was not seriously hurt. Something must be done. We need new policies and enforcement. Immediately. But it’s not isolated to that region. Though I have seen too many examples of it there. I will not cross an intersection that does not have a traffic light. I always wait until it’s clear. I do not trust drivers to pay attention. Because often times they are not.

Im not excusing the driver, but I did Uber in DC for 5 years and people there cross the street and won’t look . They jump in front of the cars. Is also happening in Puerto Rico, they go on vacation there to old San Juan and feel entitled if crossing the streets without looking.

I am surprised how frequently pedestrians in the DMV walk out in traffic without a look or thought to their own safety. The driver was wrong but jeez, a little self preservation would be smart.
But you also got to male eye contact to make sure the driver saw you. Not that's is their fault but accidents bespectacled we have to take care of our selves from distracted people
