Kraftwerk is probably the most internationally influential music group of all time. Kraftwerk's music influenced numerous styles of music, such as synthpop, electro, Detroit techno, house and also had a decisive influence on the beginnings of hip-hop. In 1997, the New York Times called Kraftwerk the "Beatles of electronic dance music".
They also became well recognized in the hip hop world through the song "Tour de France" from the movie "Breakin" where one of the breakdancers "Turbo" does dance moves with a broom in front of the convenience store.
Everything about Kraftwerk was ahead of it's time which is why they were so unique - and still are IMO Many people have tried to copy their sound but never sounded as polished as these guys. Some of their instrumental work was very heavy. Love it all!
Kraftwerk were among the pioneers in electronic music, they had the feel for it, the guts to try it, and the success with it. Many styles developed directly or indirectly from what Kraftwerk did in the early 1980s and still dig deeper into what is possible with synthetic sound production.
Kraftwerk was founded in 1970 in Düsseldorf and was one of the first German bands, who are charted in th UK and USA. Like Rammstein in the last years. There is an English version of this song by Kraftwerk. There are some other interesting songs. Some of them have an English version, I think. Great reaction, as usual (Rammstein and Nina Hagen) Greetings from Germany
Great video. Great reaction. My love for Kraftwerk and NEU! It's huge, in fact I came to live in Düsseldorf just because of them. Congratulations on your channel, it has a great future. Greetings!!
There's an english version too, it's what charted in the UK and US: "She's a model and she's looking good. I'd like to take her home, that's understood. She plays hard to get, she smiles from time to time, it only takes a camera to change her mind. She's going out to nightclubs, drinking just champagne. And she has been checking nearly all the men. She's playing her game and you can hear them say: "She's looking good, for beauty we will pay!". She's posing for consumer-products now and then. For every camera she gives the best she can. I saw her on the cover of a magazine. Now she's a big success - I want to meet her again." - it's not a word-by-word translation, but pretty close to the German version.
That one weird sounding "Kooorrrekt!" is an insider joke. According to either Karl Bartos' or Wolfgang Flür's autobiography (or maybe it's mentioned in both) there was a certain Cafe/Bar in their hometown Düsseldorf with a funny waiter who, when you ordered Champagne ("Sekt" in German) always would reply with "Sekt - Kooorrrekt!". (correct) :)
You're talking about posture: In some early newspaper article about them the writer complained about them never moving around (like rock musicians), instead they "just stand around like show room dummies". (mainly, because their equippment was FAR from portable). They reacted to this by starting to wear uniform suits and shirts and cut their hair proper and short (unlike all the other bands back then) and pose - and the makeup you can see in this clip pretty much looks like painted showroom dummies. In 1976, on "Trans Europe Express" there was the track "Showroom Dummies" about them standing in a shop window, suddenly start to move and break through the glass... There also exist actual showroom dummies with custom made Kraftwerk heads they put on stage or in the audience during some concerts... :) Later with Man Machine, We are the Robots and other tracks they went further into "artificial humans" as a theme even.
Kraftwerk was a very unique group and one of the first forerunners of the newly created electronic sounds that became possible since Moog built the first synthesizer. Another German group of the day was Tangerine Dream who had a complete different approach, in the 70's they had great albums like "Ricochet", "Stratosfear", "Live in America" with the hit "Coldwater Canyon", among others. Klaus Schultze was another guy who in those days experimented with electronic sounds. But one of the most popular was the French musician Jean Michel Jarre whose most iconic work was "Oxygen". You can savely say that the electronic sound was invented and further developed first in Europe, not in America.
From India my father had a very good choice at 70s or 80s love for Agatha Christie novel and movies and songs which i also used to hear but this karftwork was my favourite as a child listening it again and again specially man machine that was soo lovely as a childhood memories ❤
Another pioneer and also one of the most influential composers and producers of all time is Giorgio Moroder. He won an Oscar for the soundtrack to the movie 'Midnight Express' (1978) and he created the sound of Donna Summer.
Famos songs of Kraftwerk are "Autobahn", "Roboter", "Radioaktivität" und "Music Nonstop". The emotionless performace was a "trademark" of this band.Later the vocals were even replaced by an electronic, de-emotionalized voice. Founded in 1970 "Kraftwerk managed to do that with the help of different vocoders, all of which had their origins in the military and are actually used to first encode speech and then decode it again for the recipient. From this, Kraftwerk created whole choirs, distorted voices into synthesizers and fell in love with the machine of the future so much that the singing synthesizer soon stood for the band."

Kraftwerk were and are pioneers in electronic music. I admire your Body-Building, that is not an easy task to do. You must be very commited to then compete in something scored by judges... That can be so unfair...
Perhaps also try looking at Vienna by Ultravox, Fade to Grey by Visage, Yazoo et al if you’re liking Synth Pop sounds from the 80s. In the very early 80s men in the UK used more hairspray than the girls and immaculately put themselves together just to go out clubbing. Boy George and Culture Club, Spandau Ballet etc came out of that scene. Best regards from KwaZulu-Natal.
Hallo. I love your Rammstein Reactions because I love Rammstein. But my musical interrests goes verry far. So I am listening to Kraftwerk too. They are the leaders by making Electronic Musik fame. They do lot of good electronic Musik at a time when not so much people hear this kind of musik. Try to hear and react to song of them like "Wir sind die Roboter" (we are the robots) or "Fahrn auf der Autobahn" (driving on the autobahn) that you maybe find under the name "Autobahn". Now, go on doing good reaction, i love them!! You are doing a good job! Many greatings from Duisburg in Germany
Kraftwerk: make experimental futuristic music and pose themselves as mechanistic and emotionless, barely alive androids for uncanny effect and totalitarian dystopia vibes Some dude, 45 years later: People back then had discipline! They had posture!
These guys where unique, they are the base of all modern electronica including techno. Yet no-one dares to really copy the style because it is so extreme. The performance is so stiff because they act like robots. In fact, they had multiple concerts with actual robots instead of themselves.
@ITN Then it might be a bit easier for you to learn german than native english speakers. Ek kan bietjie Nederlands verstaan en dit hou verband met Afrikaans.

Con ellos empezó todo.

U should listen "Tour de France" a piece of art
Please check also 'Fahrn, fahrn .. auf der Autobahn' (as an example). Thanks

There is an English language version as well
Kraftwerk only German versions
Now you must listen awesome cover on this song by Sopor Aeternus - Modela Est.
❤
I much prefer the German version.
Why didn't you source the recording in English ?
Because its more popular.
May I ask you what's your first language?
Afrikaans 😁
@ITN Then it might be a bit easier for you to learn german than native english speakers.
