Nanami is that one comic relief character that I forgot that she existed but is only in around a few main plot points, and is stupidly OP for reasons that I don't know how she got said power.
Currently in chapter 13 and in one of the side-quests she appears and I was like "f*ck sake it's you again"
Many sides story point that Nanami was sent by someone or maybe nobody to do something to commandant... She said that one day shes gonna do something she's might regret and disappear
She's not innmost story cause she'll end up befriending all the enemies.
There is more to her, you'll find out in time. Have you read the interludes?
She's not a human-turned-construct, she was made as a construct and then was raised as a human girl. When the punishing virus came, she got infected iirc but somehow cleansed herself of said virus. She's literally an AI that keeps evolving 🧍♀️

Nanami's mech looks straight out of Armored Core, I love it!

必殺中の通常攻撃は長押しだけでなく
長押しでゲージを溜め、タイミングよくボタンを離す事で威力や圧力回収性能が上がる仕様があります
また、SSで控えからミサイルによる援護射撃が出来るようになります
