Bong Joon-ho winning the Best Director Oscar, because at that moment we knew Parasite would win Best Picture and the explosion of emotion when Jane Fonda said "Parasite" after that brief split second pause was something unheard of.
Lost to Brendan Fraser, his performance in the whale can't be underestimated at any cost , maybe that wasn't fair for Austin but he's still young, and he'll get it someday

I'm really hoping to see Austin Butler (I'm baised) win for best actor and RRR team will be there to represent India
@@Njbear7453me too.... But for me it won't be spectacular like AR Rahman winning, most people didn't have internet at that time and could only watch on tv while Natu Natu is a favourite to win. I just wish Indian movies were selected for best picture category coz some of the movies nominated this year are subpar compared to Indian cinema 🤷🏻♀️ Kantara could have been nominated but I guess it didn't get the push RRR did

I watch the Oscars with my older daughter every year (my younger daughter loves movies, but she lets this be our "thing"). The older she got, the more fun we were able to have. When I started printing out ballots & we made our choices, it added another level. Last year she started college; we still watched it "together", just she in MA and me in NH, texting each other through the whole thing. Thankfully, THIS year she's home this week, so we will get to watch it together again! We already have it marked in our calendars to be together - live - to watch together for the 100th.
As an Italian, even though I wasn't born yet, I say the famous moment when Roberto Benigni won his Oscar for Life is Beautiful!😉🇮🇹 Recently, I remember with pleasure Brad Pitt's 2020 win for Best Supporting Actor for Once upon a time in Hollywood!😃
This is mine too!! This movie makes me cry so much and when he won I remember him walking on the backs of the chairs up to the stage and making a bizarre speech lol. It was amazing
As a viewer, my first vivid memory of watching the Oscars was Billy Crystal mouthing the words that Robin Williams (RIP) was saying behind him. Williams presented Best Animated Feature to Finding Nemo
In Ireland tonight we will go mental if Any of our gang Paul, Colin, Kerry, Brendan, Barry or Martin win, aswell as the whole team behind on Cailín Ciúin (the quiet girl) , this is our moment!! My greatest moments would be Brenda Fricker winning best supporting actress for my left foot, a great Irish actress, and Daniel Day Lewis win for the same movie playing real life Irishman Christy Brown. Next , as someone who has loved Korean film and TV for years and had watched different projects of the cast in Parasite, I was soooo rooting for them and I felt like my own country and had at that moment. I believe Choi Woo Shik and Jang Hye Jin deserved acting nominations. Good luck to all Ireland tonight and good luck to all. I'm rooting for the cast and crew of EEAAO even if they kick our asses. 🇮🇪☘️
I will never forget when La La Land won and then Moonlight was declared the true winner. It happened the same year that the Patriots unexpectedly won the super bowl and my reaction was the same for both moments lol
You were unfair to the movie Elvis, and his crew! You treated everyone in the Elvis movie in a disrespectful way, you did not appreciate the incredible work of this team.
Austin Butler deserves to win but will not. He is that rare talent that comes along once in a century that everyone will always remember and cherish. Watching that movie is comparable to seeing Van Gogh's "Starry Night" for the first time in a museum or watching Peter O'Toole in "My Favorite Year" for the fiftieth time. Gloria Swanson gave a monumental performance as Norma Desmond in "Sunset Boulevard" just to lose the Oscar in 1950. Gena Rowlands should have won for "A Woman Under The Influence" but didn't. This year Danielle Deadwyler should have won but she wasn't even nominated. When he loses, Austin Butler will be in a pantheon of greatness. He need not worry, his work is his greatness.
for me It's 100% the Will Smith one this time last year, just the way he glided up those steps and gave his good friend Chris Rock a nice little friendly slap around the face. He also did his powerful speech sitting down, showing how cool he was on the night. The man just oozes coolness 🤣
It is so sad for me to know that I will stop loving these awards since I was 9 years old without knowing English I saw them but I think that will change their policy, it will become stupid and not valid, they reward not fair if for staying even if they know it is not correct and that is rubbish I will see it this year but what a disappointment
